  1. Idk about anyone else but the entire impending FA/trade talk has really put a damper on what should be an amazing achievement of a Detroit Tiger. Congratulations Tarik!

  2. And with that, he’s 100% out of our cheap ownerships range for salary. The man deserves to be paid, it’s just too bad our owners are ass.

  3. Before all the “NOW PAY HIM” comments, once again, he isn’t going to sign any extension. He’s going to be a free agent. You may not like it, but there isn’t an offer the Tigers could make that he’d say yes to

  4. That’s some high trade value. If we do this right we could be a contender for the next 20 years.

  5. Yes, I’m in the “pay the man train”.

But really, does he NEED Scott Boras at this point? Everybody (now) knows he’s a back-to-back Cy Young winner, so the idea of him doesn’t need to be “sold” to other teams. (And
realistically, the differences among offers from the highest bidders will be equivalent to what probably goes in Boras’ pocket.)

This is my opening salvo in the “kick Scott Boras out of baseball negotiations” campaign.🤣🤣

  6. I went to high school with him. Crazy seeing him pop up on espn all the time. Back to back is nuts

  7. Congrats to Skubal! Well deserved! But two things that are going to stem from this. Trade compensation or AAV just went up

  8. Let’s just appreciate for a moment how rare this is. How many fantastic pitchers won a Cy Young and continued their dominance the next year, but just weren’t *the* best and didn’t go back to back? I was personally skeptical he would be able to do it, but he’s just special man. I’m so proud of him and this team.

Shout to the other AL pitchers, this year was much more competitive than last year. Shout out specifically to Garrett Crochet who pitched his ass off and really could have won it had he given up fewer homers.

There’s no guarantee he’ll ever win again, and even if he does we all know damn well there’s no guarantee it’ll be for the Tigers. So let’s all just enjoy this greatness and be grateful for all he’s done for this organization.

  9. Skubal left his seat and got 2/3 of the way to the podium, stopped and told Hinch to let someone else finish accepting the award.

  10. Just thought it appropriate to remind everyone Chris Illitch is estimated to be worth 3 billion

  11. I don’t know much about the pitching scene this year. Which other pitchers were his competition for the award?
