The Steelers Just Made an EXTREMELY Smart Move …
I know a lot of people were upset at the Steelers for not making a move at the deadline or not trading for a wide receiver, whatever it is. Especially after Mike Tomlin was just like, “We’ll see what happens. I like shopping.” And the Steelers were reportedly being aggressive. But, you know, they can be aggressive and still not overpay for guys who are going to be there for one year and then probably leave afterwards or not be as productive moving forward in their career. Take a Jacobe Myers for example. I really liked him at the start of the season, but it’s not like he’s having some crazy production and giving up a fourth and a sixth round pick when you’re an organization that knows that they can go out and get great wide receivers in the fourth and sixth round, it it’s just too much of a reach. So, this was actually an extremely smart move for Pittsburgh. And the Steelers really don’t have to prove that they’re going allin cuz they’ve already made a bunch of all-in moves. But there’s a fine line between going allin and then just screwing over your future teams because let’s just say with a guy like Garrett Wilson or Jaylen Waddle and the Jets and the Dolphins, they’re trying to fleece you. They’re trying to get you to overcompensate and then you do it and you give up all this draft capital when really you should be starting young next year and you need all the draft picks that you can get to build a young roster, you know, get new talent, start fresh again and then you just pay for this guy. You take on a big contract. You gave up too many draft picks. When you’re an organization that can draft really well at wide receiver and at least can get an elite one in the first round, if not second or third, you’re the Pittsburgh Steelers. We know their reputation when it comes to getting weapons. So, for now, you just got to learn how to utilize DK Metaf as much as possible cuz you already paid him a ton of money. You don’t want to end up like the Bengals and get another guy and have to pay him a ton of money when again you can get a guy on a rookie contract next year who could probably be really good out of the gate. So, if you’re the Steelers right now, I say just keep feeding it to big old Darnell Washington. Obviously, he had one drop last game, but you know, once everybody started to get hot, Darnell Washington really made some good catches and picked it up. DK Metaf, he’s kind of underperforming right now, but you know, the talent’s there. You know, he can pop off at any moment. So find a way to get him going. Basically, just utilize the talent you have right now. But whatever you do, do not overreach trying to get a guy and screw yourself over for the future. Use Jaylen Warren as much as possible. You got guys, but um yeah, just try to utilize all the weapons you have right now to the max and do not do not put yourself in a bad situation for the future. And that’s exactly what the Steelers did. So, I’m actually pretty happy with this. But let me know what you guys think about the Steelers not really making any moves at the deadline. I can't disagree more. this was a terrible day. we got nothing. rodgers has been very good, and he should have demanded to pick somebody up. we got so many draft picks next year, easily could have parted with a few of them. olave, myers…somebody! Omar Khan and staff failed this team. i'm sorry.
This year they suck so bad !!!! Desperately need a new coaching staff and franchise young QB!!! Rodgers has been awesome having 17 TD to 5 picks with a young average Oline and the worst WR core in the game but he is 42

We're pretty stacked at receiver/TE. It's just a question of whether the coaching staff can properly utilize them…and the answer is obviously not lol
