PTI reacts to Mavericks firing Nico Harrison 🗣️ ‘OWNERSHIP NEEDS TO TAKE SOME BLAME!’ – Wilbon
Dallas Mavericks. Here we go. Today finally made the move that Tony’s been predicting, obsessing over since February, firing general manager Nico Harrison. Fan chance of fire Nico. You can hear him. They rain down last night in a loss to Milwaukee in which the Mavericks blew a 13-point lead to fall to three and eight. Their worst start in seven years. Tone, you said Harrison’s trade of Luca should lead to his firing. It has now. Is it justified? I’m sure you’ll say it is. It is. Yeah. But how do you feel about the timing? Well, let me get to the justification. Is it justified? It is. It should have happened a long time ago. It’s late. Okay. That’s the worst trade I have ever seen in my life. There are many who would concur. I just a terrible, terrible trade. And by the way, where where have you ever seen a hometown crowd chant for the firing of a GM? Like they don’t even know the names of GMs most of the time. This is bad. That is amazing. That’s an amazing thing. The home games are depressing. If you talk to people who were there in Dallas, they come away thinking, “Oh my god, this was unpleasant.” That’s how bad it is. So, let me go to the trade again. So, he trades Luca Donuch for Anthony Davis. Luca Donuch, a great player and a fan favorite, right? Anthony Davis gets hurt all the time and his divisive nickname is street clothes. Okay? And and so now Luca’s team without LeBron playing a minute is eight and three and that’s pretty much all Luca. And Dallas’s team is three and eight. They’re three and eight at the moment. And the worst part for Dallas for ownership is that people have stopped going. They’re being hurt in the pocketbook. So they had to do this and they should have done this before. I I feel bad because the trade is not a trade that any of us, it seems, have made. I don’t get to know Luke uh uh Nico a little bit. Nico Harrison didn’t do this by himself. And I’m not gonna sit here and act like he did it by himself. The owner has to agree cuz I know better. Owner has the owner didn’t just agree. The owner was involved. Okay, that’s that’s what I’m told and I know and I’ll bet on that every day. But he’s not going to fire. No, he’s not going to fire himself. And so Nico has to take accountability. I’m not saying he shouldn’t. That’s right. and the home games. I’ve started to watch Dallas because I thought if Anthony Davis was out there, God help me. If Cooper Cooper Flag was great away as the number one choice and he isn’t, not yet. And this notion of him playing point guard, Jason Kid, a great coach, I don’t know what the hell that’s about cuz he ain’t a point guard and he ain’t gonna never be a point guard ever. Kyrie Irving, okay, Kyrie’s hurt, not there. And all those players on that team, PJ Washington, Derek Lively, they’re all dependent on a playmaking guard. And that ain’t Cooper Flash. They had one. So, it’s doomed. They had two. They had two. They had two. Now they have none. Now they have none. And that trade that trade hangs over that team and that building like a curtain. It does. It’s terrible. It does. I just don’t want to hear Nico be. Where’s the owner? Where’s he? Take some accountability. You’re the billionaire. I’ll tell you where the owner billionaire bully. take some blame. The owner is the guy who just fired and he’s hiding behind Nico.

Wilbon, the owner was "involved" to the extent he told Nico "Well, you're the basketball guy!". This move was Nicos.
Oh yeah wilbon, do you think the owner told "Trade for AD and ONLY AD!"?? The way he did the trade was grounds for termination on its own, stop trying to pass the buck. He did something stupid out of pure arrogance and now he's paying for it.
Nico's NBA trajectory will be remembered by this. Unless he wins a chip with another team. Then it will be remembered by this and the chip. To kind of erase the Luka trade, he would probably need to win at least a couple of chips as a GM. Maybe three.
Nico was a pawn
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 This is so impressive
Ownership take responsibility???? You mean the gambling executive and golddigging foreign agent are gonna take responsibility??? Good luck with that one!
NICO is Rob Pelinka's right hand man then, STILL TODAY! That is what happened. People are forgetting about him also releasing Brunson. That was another Huge paycheck for him from the Knicks. He should be the main arrest for the FBI for inside trading!
Wilbon wants to blame Bruce Pearl for the trade. He figures blame the Jew. Now, he wants the Maverick owner to take the blame. I wonder who owns the Mavs? Oh yeah, she has a lot in common with Mr Pearl.
Imagine how Davis feels about everyone disrespecting a team for trading a player for him 😂
Like the owner didn't have anything to say , u all believe that 😂😂😂
He at least got paid, more than what you can say about most of our employers.
Mavs Owners and Dumont should not be spared! They are part of the Satire this Mavs franchise is running. 😂😂😂
Lakers 8-3 vs MAVS 3-8. Remember, they traded Porzingis too, who then won a ring with the Celtics. They showed absolutely no patience with Luka or Porzingis but do with Kyrie & AD. They literally traded him while still on the DL for another DL player. The firing looks to be the first logical step to now having to save Flagg from the same fate. MAVS aren't out of the woods yet, they paired Flagg with players on the DL, which is where he's heading, if he doesn't leave. MAVS made the same mistake with Flagg in 2025, as with DSJ in 2017. But back to '25 they traded away Luka & exactly 1 month later, blewout Uncle Drew's knee. What does that tell you? That arena's atmosphere was a lynch mob. … Their lineup is still messed up, 2 guards out now & a PF short.
Of course Wilbon is sticking up for Nico….
He had no choice to Luka because ownership didn’t wanna pay Luka the super max. Luka wasn’t gonna sign for anything other than that. Nico tried to get something out of it without letting Luka walk for nothing
Yeah but this was Nico’s master plan, he said it himself on press conference, the owner knows nothing about basketball nor about his fan base !!!!?
Even if this had been the owners idea, Nico should have known better!!!!!! Luka is a generational talent! He is not replaceable!!!! A GM? Very replaceable!!!!!
The fact that three teams — Atlanta, Sacramento, and Dallas didn’t want Luka is wild.
Present*
Nico is a scapegoat
SELL THE TEAM!!!, new chant at games
Wilbon is honestly so embarrassing sometimes. Of course he must do everything he can to make the big bad owner the villain in this story. The owner is a putz, yes, but Nico's brain cooked up and justified this absurdly ridiculous trade.
💯
SELL. THE. TEAM.
Sell the team to folks WHO LOVE BASKETBALL, WHO KNOW BASKETBALL.
Marc Cuban would not have approved this trade. He said it multiple times.
Hey Nico karma's a BI/TH ISN'T IT YOU F-ING POS SOB !!!!!
