God that’s what makes this so painful. Willie represented something different for this team, some type of drive or identity that could finally bring us somewhere. Him getting that 2022 team to the playoffs was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen.
If only we could’ve been healthy, if only our GM could’ve used their head and actually develop that core, if only our ownership gave enough of a fuck and take responsibility for the team instead of let it continue endless cycles of mediocrity. Maybe then Willie could’ve done something. I don’t blame him for what’s happened, but I also don’t think he needs to stick around either. We have hit rock bottom.
Damn I loved this time, wish I could find the video with music added that took this moment to absolute cinema. Feels like a lifetime ago now 🙁
