Dodgers Send World Series Champ to Reds, Yamamoto Cy Snub? Is Teoscar Hernandez a Trade Chip?

Another day of the 2025 MLBGM’s meetings have come and gone and it gave us things to talk about, to complain about, and more things for us to just think about and talk about here on this edition of All Dodgers. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Coming at you live from my home studio in Beautiful La Point, California. This is the All Dodgers podcast. We mash a mezz because we are world series champions and because my World Series champion hat arrived. Shout out Fanatics for making me pay full price for that hat. All Dodgers is presented by FanDuel, part of the Believe Network podcast. And the boys are joining me today. Look at that. Look at them fill in. Uh that is Sny Dog in the middle coming at us from an unusual space in his home studio in his mom’s basement. But uh he’s having computer problems. It’s been updating for uh it’s got one minute left for about the last 15 minutes. So he may dip out at some point and come back and join us again. And then Kevin’s in the kitchen. As you can see is a fully functioning kitchen. Uh gentlemen, not a lot today, but also kind of some stuff today. First Jeff, how you doing my friend? I’m doing good. I a little bit annoyed by my computer, but other than that, you know, I’m sitting in the same chair as always, just looking at a slightly different angle, and uh you can’t quite see as many of my bobbleheads. Uh Kevin, is that kitchen fully functioning? And is it gas or electric? Electric. Woogie. Wiggyw. Sounds like Chicago. Sounds like Chicago. You know, we they don’t allow us to have uh burners and open flames around here. They’re afraid it’ll create a third. That’s just specifically you, I assume. Yeah. Yeah. Well, no. They’re worried about a third fire and they don’t want it to be known as the third city. So, let me turn this with your your particular record. I get it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. He is an arsonist is what we’re saying, guys. He’s not actually an arsonist. We’re just wasting people’s times here at the start of the show while some folks uh join us here on the live show. A lot of friends hanging out with us already in the chat. Uh Beverly is in the chat. Alex Reteria is in the chat. Our friend Swell and Sausage, Diane, Charlie. Good to see everybody hanging out with us here. Uh probably a little bit looser of a show today uh than what we had yesterday, but we’ll we’ll kick things off with uh the news of the day. Dodgers dropped a bombshell on us because World Series hero, champion, my friend, your friend as well, Ron Roarville, was traded away to go play baseball in Cincinnati with his good friend Gavin Lux. Of course, they grew up together. And sorry, the screen looks weird with Jeff here. He’s giant head. He is Zordon in this particular scene. But uh yeah, the Dodgers never mentioned that um Ben RV was placed on waiverss or anything like that, but he was claimed by the Cincinnati Reds. And that’s something I said on uh last week’s edition of nine Dodgers who will not be back in 2026 uh of uh on Dodgers territory. I said, Ben Wart, I don’t like it, but it makes sense because there’s a roster crunch and now it’s at 39 players. Kevin, I’m leading off with you. What’s uh how what’s the mood there in uh Kevin’s kitchen HQ after losing our hero Benny Biceps? Oh, I mean, you know, the muscle mass of the entire team went down quite a, you know, significant amount. There was a thought when I cannot remember the name of the pitcher they signed to a minor league contract. There was a thought that maybe they were shipping out Dalton rushing or they had made that move to prepare for a Dalton rushing trade. Um I do believe Ben Wrvet getting picked up by Cincinnati decreases that likelihood a bit, just a little bit. Not by like an incredible amount, but it could happen. Um but it sucks. I I just because I you want to talk about a guy that you know, not to quote Chris Collinsworth too much, that like came in, filled the role. Talk about a guy talk about a guy just came in, filled the role, and did it as well as he could. And that’s like, yeah, you you’re talking about replacing an all-star level catcher, arguably a top three catcher in the league. In my opinion, not two or three, but he did it really well with Will Smith, in case somebody missed that connection. Yeah, obviously stepping in for Will Smith as he had the fractured hand. Yeah, correct. And he did in Ben Rovveet, you know, fulfilled that role very well. And, you know, he caught in the NL um wild card series. I can’t remember if he caught in the DS maybe for a second. Two games. Two games in the DS. Thank Dodgers were 4-0 in the postseason when he started games. So it it’s just he will be missing like we we joke a lot on this show about Dodgers legend insert name of player who played one game or two games with the Dodgers here but Ben Wartvet actually fulfilled a need for this team and you know played meaningful innings for this team. So it does suck to watch him go but you know it it’s not unpredictable. Uh Jeff, your thoughts on the emotional side of it and then obviously the reasons why being that he didn’t have options? Yeah, the the fact is Will Smith went down with a broken hand and then like a day or two later Daltton Russian goes down with the bone bruise. Benton RV was the hero the Dodgers needed at that moment. He he had some big hits overall. He wasn’t a good hitter. Uh he he bet what 224. Uh he can get down a sack bump for sure. Uh but you know I I I think the emotional side of things is definitely a bigger deal than the base baseball side of things because he was exactly what the Dodgers needed when they needed them. Uh but they are very unlikely to need that specific thing next year. Throw in the fact that he didn’t have options anymore. he would have to be on the active roster. Uh it made sense to try to sneak him through waiverss. Maybe they were hoping he’d clear waiverss and they could, you know, have him off the 40man but keep him in the organization, but with, you know, unless they were for sure going to trade Daltton rushing, uh it didn’t make sense to have uh three catchers on the 40man roster, including two who have to be in the big leagues, and the other one is your top prospect. Uh just wouldn’t have made sense. And so it this move makes a lot of sense as sad as sad as it as it is. Like you said, it’s cool that he gets to go to the Reds where Gavin Lux is. Um our buddy Steven Nelson mentioned, Gavin Lux is getting married soon. And Ben Wartvet is in the wedding party and so now they can be teammates when they’re at the wedding party together. Is it? Yeah, he’s an usher. He didn’t usher in the wedding party. They couldn’t even it out. Molly needs more friends. So, couldn’t they couldn’t get even it’s all part of the wedding party, you know. I I don’t know what the technical definition of a wedding party is. I don’t have friends and definitely didn’t when I got married, but uh but yeah, it he’s part of the wedding and they are good buddies. So, so that’s cool. And yeah, I mean, Ben Rorvette, I it’s better for him to get picked up by a team that wants to have him on their big league roster than to get than to sneak through waiverss and get outrighted back to Triple A for next year. Yeah. on on um the idea of his batting average or whatever, you know, he was hitting 1,000 in here for me and and for people listening, I’m pointing at my heart, or at least I think that’s where it lives. I don’t really know. I’ve never cut myself open to look at it. But yeah, I I think that’s the big thing for for me is I I appreciate him going somewhere where he’s going to get an opportunity to play. I had opined on my Dodgers territory spot that um he was somebody that might, you know, the Dodgers might try to pass through waiverss like like you were saying there, but I think he he showed something to some other ball clubs here. Yeah, it’s it’s not going to be the the flashiest. You know, he’s not going to he he’s going to struggle to put together an OPS over 600 or over 650, but he’s still a good ball player. Obviously calls a really good game, provided he’s calling uh ball games for starters who are elite level starting pitchers. um not the bullpen so much. Uh but he can he can uh get a bunt down. He can move the ball forward and I think that is something that uh will play up in Cincinnati and you know good on him. Good on him getting an opportunity. Uh that is several minutes on Ben Wart. That is how important he was uh for the Dodgers. Can I mention one other thing about Ben Wart? Absolutely. You remember his his first played appearance as a Dodger? people calling for Dave Roberts head for taking Daltton rushing out of the game and then Ben Rovet, it was the game where I think it was that last game against the Orioles where the Dodgers just decided not to score for the first eight innings and then in the ninth inning they put up a rally and the game ended on a Ben Rorvette strikeout and people just thought obviously Dave Arb is the worst manager ever because he had taken Dalton Rushing out of the game and had to have Ben Wartvet bad instead and then within two weeks the the conversation between rushing and rovet had completely flipped. But the fact is rushing is going to be a better hitter than Ben Roertvet going forward. But Rorvett has established himself as a solid backup catcher in the major leagues and you can make a real good living in that role for a long time. Yeah, absolutely. This is, you know, the start of his career really as a big leager. It could happen here in Cincinnati. It’s a bad team. It’s a a goodish bad team. and uh you know now he has a postseason moxy under his belt. Um Kevin you had mentioned that the you know the clubhouse lo a lot of b lost a lot of bicep but Alex brings up still got Kim’s thighs so we’re good there on meaty boys in that clubhouse which is I regret saying uh Denny also says meaty thighs hashmeaty boys thanks Mr. Krabs uh Richie getting a little ahead. We’ll bring this one back up uh in a little bit with saying we can’t trade Teao. He’s only had his jersey for one year. Listen, it’s a conversation. We’re going to have it a little bit later. Um there was a second part to that Ben Roertvet news. Ron RVelt if you’re nasty news from the Dodgers and that is uh Tony Gon selecting free agency instead of trying to stay in the organization which is a smart play. The Dodgers don’t have a need for starters. He would not get an opportunity if and when he ever became healthy again. So, he gets a test free agency, potentially get one of those, you know, oneplus one deals or something like that. Um, when you look at the numbers, and we talked about him here, uh, uh, Kevin, you you had a good amount of thoughts on Tony Gonelin, and rightfully so. I mean, the dude when he’s healthy is is elite, um, or at least he can he is elite at run prevention at the bare minimum. Um, all-star, threetime World Series champ. Uh, two of those are a little meh, but anyways, you know, good on him. Hopefully he he finds somewhere that uh gives him an opportunity, you know, looking shout out Tampa Bay. Pick up my boy, get him back together with uh Ryan Pepois. That’s all I got to say about that. Uh, anybody any other thoughts before I move on? Well, it’s not even about um his production. It’s a timing thing. He got season ending surgery in August of last year. probably takes him out for the majority of 2026 um if not all of it. At which point he did not have any other options. And with the Dodgers kind of being um choked on 40man roster spots, there was no need to carry Tony Gon who unfortunately despite as good as he’s been because he has no options and because he was injured, he doesn’t have any trade value. So there’s no reason to keep him around. if he signs with the team, it’s going to be a September callup. It’s going to be a September addition. Um maybe he makes it onto a team so that he can make the postseason, but it had all it had everything to do with timing. And it’s unfortunate because like I’ve said time and time again, he’s an anomaly because the underlying metrics hate him, but the dude produces. And um when you’re coming off an injury uh to your flexor to his elbow when you throw a split change. Yeah. There are question marks about what it looks like when you come back and and the sustainability for sure. Yeah. Yeah. It it’s unfortunate for him. He might be destined for the bullpen at this point. We’ll see a team I there will be a team that takes a chance on him. Look at like somebody like, I don’t know, the Atlanta Braves if they’re, you know, still in contention late in the season or the Marlins, you know, uh Clayton Mcola has done a good job with them and maybe he there calling it now. He’s probably going to sign with the Giants. Don’t know why. Uh I think they’ll have too good of pitching late in the year to get somebody like Tony Gon. He seems he strikes me as somebody that like, you know, as like a a good number three, a high number four, signs on with a team that needs like a an extra arm. Um, so I Braves the Marlins. Um, maybe even the Phillies depending on if they bring back Ranger Suarez. So, there’s going to be some guys that or he’ll he’ll have a home next year. It’s just the Dodgers just don’t have any room for him. Somebody Somebody’s got to let the cat in is what you’re saying. or let the cat or the Dodgers had to let the cat out of the bag. I see you shaking your head, Jeeoff. I booed myself. Okay. I booed myself. I I respect the buttons and I will use them. The buttons are just All right. Uh let’s let’s uh spin forward another uh from one good Dodger pitcher to another. They’re about the same category. Cat Agori. Okay, I’ll DFA myself if I have one more cat pun. But you guys know uh the comedy rule of three. I’m calling it an outright snub even though I looked at the numbers and it’s the right call. But Yoshi No Yamamoto was not your 2025 Sai Young Award winner and that was never going to be the case. It was always going to be Paul Skins Skenis if you’re nasty. But Christopher Sanchez gets all of the second place votes. I assumed I I kind of had my heart had Yamamoto taking that that two spot uh in the Saiyang voting, but um no, Yamamoto finishes third. He has 16 third place votes as you see on the screen. Uh and uh you know other fourth fifth place votes. I don’t necessarily care about that. But he finishes third. And Jeeoff um when you look at the numbers between him and Sanchez it’s the right call. Sanchez had a phenomenal year. Yeah. Yeah. You look at I mean they were erra wise they were almost identical. 249 for Yama 250 for Sanchez. So the same erra Sanchez threw 28 more innings. You know, it reminds me of the Julio versus Alcantara uh debate a couple years ago. Yeah. Where Julio was better, but Alcantara threw like 50 more innings, you know, and there is value in volume. And uh in this case when the quality was roughly equal, that 28 extra innings definitely pushes Sanchez over the top than if you go to FIP where Sanchez’s FIP was even better than Yamamoto’s. And so like, yeah, for for me, I I don’t have any issue with him finishing third. I do wonder what the voters who the 14 voters who didn’t vote for Yamamoto in the top three. Uh I I I feel like that’s like if you’re voting for for Logan Webb or Freddy Peralta for third place, you’re trying too hard. You know, you’re you’re doing too much as we young people say. And it’s uh we Yeah, I think that’s unjustifiable. We young people. Young people like me and Kevin. And uh but yeah, it’s I I think Sanchez deserves second place. Yeah. And it’s uh Yeah, it sucks, but you know what? If if you’re not first, you’re last anyway. Kevin, uh uh you know, kind of piggybacking off of Jeff’s saying there, it feels a good bit like There’s some maybe Dodger fatigue out there amongst the voters, which now suddenly makes me at least a hair worried about Show Otani getting that MVP even though he will. But I mean, we saw Schwarber got some sort of like players award. Yeah. Which is Yeah, whatever. It’s a [ __ ] award right there. Uh when the Dodgers don’t win it, but still. Um yeah, I don’t know. Voter fatigue when it comes to Dodgers may maybe a little bit. Um, I I I co-signed a lot of what Jeff said. What bothers me is Yamoto didn’t get a single second place vote, which is very bizarre. The numbers weren’t that different. I believe Yamamoto had a better strikeout rate. Yeah. Yes. The FIP definitely favors Christopher Sanchez as does the win loss column. War win loss column. Well, I I believe war also takes into account um pitcher win loss record which is also how Christopher Sanchez has a eight uh F4. Doesn’t make sense to me the number unless uh Paul Skins had like an 85 or something crazy. But it does the the numbers and bottom line the numbers didn’t weren’t so far apart that Yamamoto didn’t win a sec or earn a second or a single second place vote. It’s the same argument I had with Dave. And man, I don’t care if they don’t vote Dave to win manager of the year. It doesn’t matter to me. The fact they didn’t earn a single vote is crazy. Same with Yamoto. He didn’t deserve to win it. Paul Ske is the best pitcher in the National League. Um arguably one of the best pitchers in baseball. You can argue between him and Terco don’t care. But the fact that Yamamoto didn’t get a single pickup plates vote is really weird to me cuz I there are many arguments that Yamamoto should have at least gotten second. Yeah. And I think that’s that’s where I put this on the screen because I forgot I you know typed the words in and I should probably use it on the screen. That’s the only part where I think this is a snub. I think the order is correct. Where it is a snub is that there are zero second place votes for Yoshinoi Yamamoto despite, you know, him having technically a better erra than Christopher Sanchez at 249 rather than the 25. But yeah, um when you’re looking at wins, it’s it’s not that huge of a difference obviously and the pitchers have no control of it. Uh Dodgers decided to not score uh whenever Yamama pitched, but uh the innings the innings are the biggest issue. Offensive run support in among any pitcher. Yeah, might be in baseball. I definitely in the National League. What do you got, Jeeoff? For me, I I feel like strikeout rate is basically the only area where Yamamoto was better than Sanchez. Mhm. I And so for me, it’s not that surprising that 30 voters who take their job seriously looked at it and they all came to the conclusion that yeah, Sanchez was a bit better than Yamamoto this year. It’s, you know, the the fact that Yeah. I It’s kind of like in the Hall of Fame voting when people will be like, “Well, I know he’s not a Hall of Famer, but he didn’t get a single vote.” Well, if you know he’s not a Hall of Famer, why are you surprised that everybody else knew that he’s not a Hall of Famer, too? You know, that for me, that’s the way I look at like Yamamoto to me was pretty clearly the third had the third best season among pitchers in the National League this year. So, it’s not surprising to me that 30 voters agreed that it was the third best season. Well, 16 agreed that it was the third best. 30 agreed that it wasn’t first or second. Yeah. Something like that. The only the only part where I have an issue with that is it’s not like Yamoto was hurt for two starts. It’s just his schedule nicked him for two starts and that’s it. Sanchez started 32 games. Yamoto started 30. It’s It’s not like he didn’t go out there and take the ball literally whenever he was asked for. It’s just like the nature of his game. And I don’t think that should necessarily hurt him. It like when it’s such a marginal difference. Like yes, if you know a pitcher says, “Oh, I can only take the ball every two weeks and he’s down to like 18 or 19 starts,” that’s different. But when it’s only two starts and it’s not like Yamoto went on the IIL with a back injury of flexer strain or something like that, I I just when the numbers are so close, it is interesting that he didn’t get a single second place vote. That’s it. That That’s 28 innings. That’s like 15% more for Sanchez. It’s the two starts sounds small, but we’re innings pitch. It’s like 15% difference. It’s a It’s a real, you know, quantifiable difference. Interesting one here. We don’t need to spend too much time on it, but Mattens Matens 97, however you say it. Maten’s if you’re nasty, says you think he gets it if he gets that. No. No. I think that does something to sway the voters a little bit, especially at that time of the year. But um well I mean gets any second place votes. That’s what it really should say. He does not win the Sai Young and he does not finish second outright. Yeah. And if he gets the no hitter then his RA would have been a little bit better. Yeah. Depending on Yeah. Something about the fact that he and Sanchez had almost literally identical eras. It’s like, you know, then you look at the other numbers and okay, well, 10 of the 11 favor Sanchez. It makes sense to me. Uh, Matty man five dodge in the chat being a proper troll says Jeff hates Yama. Got it. And then adds LOL in there. See, that’s how you troll. That’s fun right there. That’s some good clean fun. Uh, hey, let’s move into back into kind of the rumor side. This this initial graphic had news and rumors and there are some different things and stuff in there. We got a super chat that leans kind of in the rumors uh from our friend swell and sausage $1.99. And don’t worry, I didn’t forget you swelling sausage. Sometimes I hold them so they can move the conversation forward, but asking do or saying Dodgers might go after Bobette either shorts stop or second base. Not right. I don’t think rightfield happens with Bob Bashette. Um I haven’t seen any like substantial rumors linking Bobette to the Dodgers. Have either of you guys heard anything, Jeff? Have you seen anything? I just know Kevin really wants him. Uh, no. I I haven’t seen anything linking him. It wouldn’t be to play shortstop. And for me, that’s the big hold up because I think Mookie Bets is the Dodger shortstop next year. I don’t think Mukie Betts is the Dodger shortstop for the rest of his career. And so, if you’re going with Bette, it’s got to be either second or third base. Uh, he he was the worst defensive shortstop in baseball this year. He’s not going, nobody’s going to sign Bette to be a shortstop and that includes the Dodgers. So, a second or third base, if it’s second base, that’s that’s Muki’s position long term. And so, you’re kind of, you know, it I I could see though they could go after Bobette to play second base this year and then move to third base after Muny is gone and and when Mookie goes back to second base. There there’s a lot of things I like about the Bobaet idea as long as he’s not playing shorts stop because he’s a bad shortstop. Yeah. But I think he’d be fine at second or probably even third and uh the dude can hit. He doesn’t strike out much. A lot of what the Dodgers kind of could use offensively. I I I don’t hate that idea a lot. I definitely expect to say Bob Bashett’s name several times this offseason. Kevin, uh, in my opinion, um, I don’t think Bo Bashette signs anywhere to be anything other than a shortstop. I don’t know if I said that right. His his agent is looking for shortstop jobs, and I think he would probably accept something different much much much later in the offseason if he can’t find a shortstop gig or ultimately resign with Toronto. What do you think? I so there was the report out um early this offseason as in like I think it’s two days ago that multiple teams have inquired about Bobette specifically to play second base or third base. There are teams that I believe ended up seeing him play second base off one leg uh cuz that’s what he was on. His knee was completely jacked up. That’s fair. And he played a very good second base, something he had not done since the minor leagues. and he turned a couple good balls. You you you kind of look at that and wish upon a man like if get him fully healthy, get him play second base like that and like with his bat there there’s some real potential there. Um he’s not a Boris client. So, um there’s huge plus. There’s a that’s a huge plus. I I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that he ends up signing as a second baseman or a third baseman. I you know, like Jeff said, he he has been one of the worst defensive shorts stops in baseball. And if all of a sudden he kind of tripped over himself and found value at second base, I don’t see why he wouldn’t run with it. I mean, you’re talking like somebody that, you know, could end up being like a Marcus Simeon type, just somebody with like real value day in and day out, um, with the bat, with the glove, and could just be that guy. And then all of a sudden, you know, you want to look at teams that are willing to bid on that, like we talked about it, you know, last year and every year prior. It’s, you know, you always want the Dodgers to be in conversations with you if you’re trying to drive up a price. if you want to like earn the most money possible. And if Boba wants to earn the most money possible, he should say, “Hey, yeah, I’ll play second base because the Dodgers want me to play second base. If you want me, you got to out bid the Dodgers.” And if the Dodgers are really interested in him, they’ll go after it. So, I wouldn’t I I wouldn’t hate it. He is my second um free agent, overall free agent that I want this off season. Kevin is just itching so much to say who this first one is just so he can get yelled at. Yeah, absolutely. Should we let him tease it right now, Clint? Should we let him tease it right now? Are we Are we waiting? Do we have this? Did I miss a plan for for the Kevin’s list until eventually we get a little further into the winter meeting. All right. I like it. You know who it is, right Clarence? Not really. We talked about it. Oh, honestly, I forgot. I I seriously forgot right now. Mostly because I was I was um looking up Bobette numbers and and more so the projected contract value. Um it what uh what the uh the Google AI is saying it could be short too. Well the where I don’t it could be short because he is young enough he’s still young. He’s not even 28 which is wild. He’s not going to be 28 until March. Give him four years. Give him four let him reenter the free agent market at 32 years old after he’s established himself as a second base. 32 might be 32 might be old. I think it’s like a twoyear and maybe like one or something like that. Uh, ideally, if he can’t get if he can’t land a an 8, nine, or 10-year deal this off season, then you try to sign like a two with a player option and enter the market again. Or at least maybe it’s the Carlos Korea deal where he can opt out after each year and and test the market again or something like that. He’s not a Boris client, though. Yeah, that is fair. That is fair. Can you imagine the terrible Star Wars puns if he was a Boris client? People need to stop giving that man a microphone at these events, Scott. Yeah, Scott Boris is the worst thing to ever happen to microphones. Yeah. Yeah. I thought I was. No, I mean at times. At times. Uh but yeah, the the Google AI says uh 7-year 189 to an 8year 224. Um I don’t know. I don’t want to I don’t want to click any of Yeah, you get 60 million or $40 million between a seven and an 8year. Apparently much for Google. Yeah. I mean, listen, it’s just pulling stuff from all these terrible aggregator sites. Like, I see Newsweek on here. Like, who would read or even write for that kind of garbage? So, um, and I won’t dignify it with a click because I’d hate to feed these trash aggregators. You know, something I do love to feed is, uh, is our friends over at, uh, at FanDuel. We talked about the odds yesterday for, uh, the Dodgers winning the National League. They have they remain unchanged plus 180 to win the National League, bring home that pennant in 2026. And the World Series odds also remain unchanged. Dodgers uh significant favorites at plus 350. If you go feel like throwing a couple of bucks on your Los Angeles Dodgers do it through FanDuel, proud presenter of the All Dodgers podcast here. We appreciate them for helping uh helping keep the lights on or something like that. All right, so we’ve talked about things and stuff and other stuff. If I’m if I’m over here slamming Newsweek and and bad reporting, I I gotta slam uh uh Johnny Haymon, the worst of the worst. So Haymon right now, I I think you know, New York Post is going all in on this off seasonason before they have to like sell or or fire everybody or something like that because Haymon’s put out about 102 columns today. and how he’s able to get away with putting out like I don’t know 80word columns and I was dumb enough to pay the $4.99 today to get past the his Cody Bellinger article payw wall which pisses me off to no degree and if it was Saturday I’d be dropping a few fbombs but you guys want to see the biggest nothing burger from John Haymon. Here’s here’s the words, guys. That saved you $4.99 with this stupid article that said, you know, are the Dodgers going to be in I don’t know. It’s It popped up on my phone, too. It was a It was a push notification from from uh the Haymon. Uh yeah, what does it say? Hold on. The Cody Cody Bellinger and Dodgers reunite. Could they reunite? This is what it says. The biggest nothing burger. Um he has fans there. Dodgers are going to be in the outfield market. He loved his time in LA. There is nothing. John Haymon, you wasted my bleeping time. You bleeping kidding me. You wasted my time. Two stickers of bars. Dumbass. Dumbass. John Haymon with that stupid ass article. Is Belly a Boris client? Yes, he is. Yes, he is. And he that explains it. Yes, Boris and Haymon are lovers in the nighttime and they uh Yeah, it you you ask how can somebody write 102 articles of 80 words each in a day? Some people call that a business model, Clint. Um tell me more. And that’s all I I I’ll say about this, you know, but uh but yeah, I mean, anytime you read anything that John Haymon says about a Scott Boris client, what you can know with absolute certainty is that Scott Boris told John Haymon, “Hey, uh Cody Bellinger’s market will be better if the Dodgers are interested. Can you help me out with that?” Yep. I’ll give you a big smooch right on your smooching lips. Playing that card for years. Oh, anyways card forever. That’s what he love to do. I started getting a just just like a hair of respect back for John Haymon. Maybe that’s what happens when I haven’t paid attention to him for a year. Um, and I haven’t had to make a living off of turning his crap into other crap for Jeff to write. Um, but man, that was just a waste of time. What a what an absolute embarrassing waste of time that was from John Haymon. Guys, of course, the Dodgers going to kick the tires on Cody Bellinger. They need an outfielder. We all know that. Um he played here before. Dodgers have money. He likes money. You didn’t need this. He didn’t need any any of it. Yeah. He also liked being a Yankee. He also likes being anywhere that’s going to give him a lot of money. So, anyways, that was a detour. I wanted to complain and I got it a little bit out of my system. Hey, I got good news, guys. Hold on. Nicole Taylor dropped the $4.99 for my refund. Guard against the clickbait. Appreciate Nicole for for hooking it up here. What do you got? Is your computer finally back online? Uh, no, but there’s only about a minute remaining. I just want to let you guys know. So, breaking news. Yeah, I really need a a button that for the breaking news um of maybe more substantialish adjacent news. Uh this this, you know, plays well off of our conversation from last night about Byron Buckton at the time. We were under the impression that chances are Byron Buckton would not wave his no trade clause to leave the Minnesota Twins, but things have changed. Apparently, he watched our show last night and he’s like, “No, I would like to be a Dodger.” But um Dan Hayes of the MLB, I don’t know who he is, but another one of them social media aggregators put out the the what the words are here, which is he’s might be open. That’s another nothing burger. This is a different nothing. I didn’t pay 49 for this nothing burger, but might be open to waving his no trade clause if they continue to tear down their roster. That being the Twins, three years, $45 million left on that contract, I think. Isn’t Dan Hayes an actual Twins writer? I I don’t know. I got to look. That’s the one. I think he is. I think I recognize the name from being an actual Twins beat rider. And so there’s something there. You know, even after last year when when Buckton said he wasn’t going to get traded, uh that like the Twins went out and traded everybody else within days of that. And so like I I I bet Buckston’s tune changed, you know, almost immediately after he said that last year. So this is not surprising at all. we were kind of working on this assumption that yeah, of course he’d rather have a chance to win a World Series. Yeah, he’s the beatw writer for for the Twins for the athletic. Um I was more so commenting or or giving the the sly treatment here or whatever to the Just Baseball who Yeah, they do do a solid. They do they do a really good job. They do a better job than some of the clickbait um pages. they they actually, you know, follow up their sources. Um, but yeah, I mean, that is something to take into to pretty strong consideration following our conversation from last night and and knowing that of of the outfielders that could be available in trades, I think we’re we’re we’re all unanimous in saying that there is no right answer. There’s no right wrong answer but of this you know tilting slightly more the right towards the right answer is probably Byron Ber and Buxon in that he is the best hitter of him Quan and Jiren Durant or at least the most complete consistent hitter win healthy and he has the ability to play center field and go out there and get him and I think he would probably be rejuvenated playing uh for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Um so I don’t know I just thought that was an interesting little wrinkle there. Um, you know, the Dodgers will be kicking the tires on on a move like that. Uh, I agree with what Jeff said yesterday. I think they prefer to fill the outfield hole via trade over free agency because you got a little bit a little bit more control there. Even if you’re giving up prospect capital, you don’t need to go out and give up the 10 years and $200 million or whatever it is. 10 years and six figures. Um, you have three and 45 left with uh with Buckton. I don’t know who some Yeah. And and I I don’t I don’t even know what his trade value would be. Like a obviously a lot of teams would be in on him, but we’re not talking about trading for prime Mike Trout or something like that. Like this is a guy with like real injury concerns. Um definite holes in his swing for as good as he is. I mean, he strikes out a lot like Jeff had mentioned last night. He doesn’t walk necessarily a ton. So that like this is something where you know as little as money means to the Dodgers prospects kind of mean a little less because they just seem to like get them up or they seem to like you know find them wherever they look and they manufacture. It would be interesting to see what um the Twins would get for him because it would kind of on the Twin side be a little bit of a salary dump. You know they wouldn’t have to pay somebody with like actual guaranteed money in their organization for years. um moving forward. So, like it it wouldn’t shock me if they move him for a little less than what the projections may or may not be. And the other nice thing about a Buckton trade is the Dodgers wouldn’t be competing with the rest of the league because Buckton does have the no trade clause, which means that they’re only competing with teams that would make it worth it to Buckton to leave the comfort of the only organization he’s ever played for, all that stuff. Meaning true contenders. Yeah. And so we’re talking a handful of teams. How many of them need center fielders? I don’t know. I haven’t done the math. I, you know, I don’t know. Uh I assume the Phillies would be interested uh if if buyer Bucks was on the trade market. You know, you think about uh you know, obviously the Padres’s have more center fielders than they know what to do with. Uh they all used to be shorts stops and uh you know, but you know, you look at contenders who actually need a center fielder and the the list goes way down and so yeah, it’s it’s a very real possibility. Yeah, I mean I think the news is the timing of it is is pretty good. I don’t think um what I’m eventually getting to here is I don’t think a Buckton move happens early this off seasonason. I think they kind of let this market play out and see, you know, where what other blockbusters may happen first, this being the Twins. uh so they can kind of potentially more firmly establish a market because we know the Dodgers don’t they won’t play to other people’s markets and and we saw that last summer with the Steven Quan deal kind of falling through even though we never heard what that you know projected deal or prospective deal would have been. Um but there is a price that is too high even if Buxon would be fantastic in Dodger Blue. Um, but hopefully, you know, let the let the trade wins. Just kind of let let the season let the post the off season kind of marinate and uh let things happen. That’s it. This is not a very good ending to this section of the show. But that’s all I got. There’s nothing going to happen for a while, but he’s open. He’s open to a trade potentially, maybe, perhaps. Um, we got a super chat, by the way. We’ll take this as a pallet cleanser. $2 from Rabuto Hernandez. Thank you very much. I’ll take the World Series ring over any award. Award of course um in reference to the Yamamoto news or snub as I called it. Uh yeah. Yeah. I feel a lot better. Just like we were talking about yesterday with Dave, I think he feels a lot better as a World Series champion then unless we have to say this again tomorrow cuz if Ottoni doesn’t win the MVP, we riot. That’s that’s maybe uh that’s that’s a little bit more of a conversation there. All right. Um burying the lead enough. So we had the outfield conversation yesterday. you had more today now with Byron Buckton and sitting around staring at the wall earlier, I had a thought pop into my head. Um, where all of our outfield issues like and and the way we’re talking about him in a way, it feels like we’re kind of hamstrung by the fact that there’s there’s one guy on this roster that suddenly doesn’t make sense a year later, and that’s that’s Tay Oscar Hernandez. He he was bad in right field. um last year and it was amplified by the fact that he wasn’t as good offensively to bury the bad in right field. Um it’s a I’ll just say it this way. Well, one, could Tay Oscar Hernandez be traded? Sure, maybe. But Jeff, is is this like would that be the best move for the Dodgers if they’re able to go out there and land maybe two outfielders if it is a Buckton and maybe a Bellinger or something like that? like is that the better route for the Dodgers to try to move off of Teao? It’s, you know, I I don’t hate the idea. I for me it would have to be like Buckton and Quan because then you’re suddenly going to a a good defensive center fielder, an elite defensive left fielder, and somewhere approaching elite defensive right fielder Andy Pahz. Suddenly you’ve got an outfield that can play great defense. And you know, it’s not really anybody’s fault that Tioscar Hernandez should probably be a DH right now. And he’s on a team, the only team in the world that wouldn’t consider putting him at DH. Uh I mean, the Phillies ran out the corpse of Nick Castanos for most of the season. This is fair. Because Kyle Schwarber was at, you know, Nick Castanos was worse than Tosskar Hernandez defensively, you know, um but he also eventually got benched. uh you know there’s it’s a rough situation and you’ve got the the people side of things that Tay Oscar didn’t even consider other offers from other teams last offseason because he wanted to be a Dodger. Uh there there’s that loyalty there that he’s shown to them and I don’t know that they would just completely throw that away. Uh, but you know, I I think if some team that needs a DH was interested, I think the Dodgers would have to listen. Uh, and and there’s probably a handful of teams that are hoping to be contenders and could use a DH who hits well. I think Teao would probably hit better as a DH than he does as an outfielder. Uh, so yeah, I mean, I I think I I don’t think it’s likely, but I think it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Yeah, we had a little bit of a text conversation about this as well. I mean, Jeff, you were there, but it was mostly Kevin and I. Like, my first thought is that loyalty. I don’t I could the Dodgers trade him? Would they trade Tscar Hernandez after inking him to a three-year deal? And how just a winter ago, so many people were like, “This guy needs to be back. He’s a heart and soul guy of this team.” To where now we kind of in this off seasonason where it is a little bit of a house money sort of winter. Like, yeah, you want to go out there and win three in a row, but if they don’t, we’re I mean, I mean, I’m not going to go jump off a bridge if the Dodgers don’t win next season. I would be extremely happy uh if they do. Um, but uh the point I was getting to here is like it at first glance, at first thought, it seems kind of far-fetched and then you kind of step back and think about it, there is a little bit of precedent with it. You saw the Dodgers trade AJ Pollock in the final year of a four-year deal. Definitely different circumstances there. But Kevin, you had brought up, you know, the fact that they were able to pull the plug on Austin Barnes and Chris Taylor this season, you know, this past season. Like these these aren’t our Dodgers from three or four years ago. They’re willing to make some tough moves if it helps them get better and puts them in a better position to win in 2026. Yeah. And looking at his contract, if you compare it to, give me one second. Uh I tried to give you as much time as I could. Yeah. Yeah. Um because I was looking at you on Oliver’s age. He’s only 28. Good for him. We’re not talking about him. No, no, no, no. Because apparently he’s the worst trade judge history. Anyway, I’m not getting into that conversation. Um you look at me. My microphone keeps my microphone keeps like dipping down and then dipping back up. So, I’m trying to keep it like stable. Got um anyway if so if you’re looking at specifically designated hitters. So if you’re looking at guys you know trading a designated hitter contract um the top three salaries in baseball are for designated hitters are Jean Carlo Stanton at 29 million. Show Otani is at 28. Yordon Alvarez is at 268. And then you drop all the way down to Jo Peterson who’s at 185. Tay Oscar would still be below Jock Peterson, who the Rangers just gave a one-year deal to. And Tay Oscar Hernandez at this point, I think we can all agree is a better hitter than Jock Peterson is. So, I raised that to say it’s not an immovable contract. Like, if you’re looking at just designated hitter value, that’s pretty good value. He’s a little bit above Lordis Goriel Jr. who’s at 13 million. Um, I still think Tayasco is a better hitter than Loris Guriel Jr., a little bit above Jorge Cer, you know what I mean? Like he’s in a good spot. He’s significantly below guys that you would absolutely pencil in as designated hitters only being Stanton, Otani, Alvarez because Tay Oscar in a pinch can still play outfield. Not great, but he can still do it. Whereas, you know, whenever John whenever Jean Carlos Stanton plays left field, uh, Yankees fans go, “Uh, just don’t hit it there.” You know what I mean? Same. Did he actually ever play outfield? He played only when Jud was hurt. Yeah, he played left field this year. Yep. That just that sounds Yankees fans were like don’t do that. And same with Yordon. Yordon it’s like hey don’t play him in left and that’s with like one of the smallest left fields in baseball at minute made. So for I say that to Tioskar’s got a movable contract if the situation presents itself where the Dodgers can really improve on their outfield. Meaning they can get two plus defenders and two plus bats at the same time. Yeah, I don’t think it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they move on from Tay Oscar. maybe eat even a little bit of his money to get a better prospect, but you could still get a low to mid-level prospect for Tay Oscar’s contract for a team that really does need a designated hitter. And like um Jeff had mentioned, there are 29 other teams that like desperately need designated hitters. Um because Yordon Alvarez and John Carlo or and you know John Carlos Han both have injury histories. Tasker kind of doesn’t. He just kind of hits and he just keeps playing ball every day. So for me the the big difference when you talk about AJ Pollock and Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes Pollock was in the last year of his deal and was he was bad by that point. Barnes and and Taylor it’s not just that they weren’t helping the team. They were actively hurting the team every time they stepped on the field basically. And no offense to those guys you know if you’re watching if if their moms are watching I’m sorry. I I appreciate your little boy. But it was time and Teao. You got to remember, I mean, he had big hits for the Dodgers even this October. Overall, he didn’t play great. Obviously, the defense dragged it down some, but you know, the game master Reds when he made the two- run error and later he had the two-run single that the Dodgers don’t win game one against the Phillies without that three-run homer, you know, so he is still helping the team. So, this would have to be a case where they have a plan in place to make the team better because unlike Barnes and Taylor, they’re not getting better just by addition through subtraction. You they would actually need to be replacing him with someone better. But there are those possibilities out there. If they could get Buckton An, you know, Buckton Quan and Pes is a better outfield probably than Buckton Teao and Pz. Yeah, I think again this is to bringing this up. This is not an indictment on on Tioscar Hernandez. I think he brings a lot to the lineup. He brings a lot to the clubhouse for sure. Uh they don’t win. They’re not two-time World Series champions or back-to-back World Series champions without Tay Oscar Hernandez. And you could very easily argue in the same in the same breath, you know, throwing in Miguel Rojos and Kik Hernandez, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And that gets into that conversation Jeff, you and I had on Sunday with uh you know, can they run it back almost as is? Um, sure, they probably could. Go ahead. Can I throw out a crazy idea that I had today while I was driving? No. Um, not in the shower. You know, the No, I was driving. I didn’t take a shower. Um, my man, just kidding. I shower every day. Um, man, why do we got to talk about me in the shower? That there’s no better way to do Clint in the bathtub. I would never bring up myself in the bathtub. That’s a software. I don’t go in the bathtub. All wet fat guys. Um, we’re going to Please don’t Here we go. I’m going to talk about baseball now. The idea of the opener in pitching came up because of the idea that you the only time you can guarantee a high leverage situation against the best part of a team’s lineup is the first inning when it’s nothing and the best hitters are coming up. And so that’s why the idea of well why not to have your best reliever pitch that first inning because then you know you’re going to get him in a high lever spot. Uh and and you know the downside is you don’t know if the game’s going to remain high leverage. You know, if you end up winning 18 to nothing, then you’re like, why’d we use our closer in the first inning? Uh but anyway, all that to say, what about the idea of a defensive opener where you you slot Teao in the seventh spot in the lineup? Well, you you spot you spot somebody. You spot Alex Call in the seven spot in the lineup and then you have him play defense until that spot comes up. And then you have Teao pinch hit for him. And so because we’re we’re already doing the late game defensive replacement, but then it’s like sometimes it’s like, well, his spots coming up in the ninth inning, so we can’t do that. The only way to guarantee getting those two or even three if you’re at home, you might get three defensive innings before the seventh spot in the lineup comes up. And so you could get three innings of better defense a and then without taking away any at bats from him except maybe you know you’re batting him seventh instead of fifth or sixth. the you know the slight difference there but then if you also then had another guy so if you had two b five outfielders you start Alex call and then you have whatever 2026’s equivalent of Justin Dean is who comes in after Teao’s last at bat and then sometimes by the time you get to the seven spot you’re already up four to nothing it’s like well let’s go ahead and let the call bat here and see if we can run things and then we never have to play Teao on defense I’m just saying a defensive opener could be the answer for Teao since you can’t have two DH’s. We have We have really jumped the shark from the spirit of This is what I think about when I’m driving around. I thought you were showering. It’s why I hit so many pedestrians. Well, yeah. You know, these are the important things. I mean, if for somewhere, you know, some reason the next CBA that’s going to lock out baseball for probably at least 6 months to a year, um, you know, if they could find a way to add one more roster spot and all of a sudden they’re they’re, “Oh, we lost. We lost Jeff. He gone. No, I’m still here. Well, you was trying to show you guys. Oh, well, it went it went off. What’s What’s happening? And he’s gone. All right. Well, that’s the wrong And now I’m gone. We’re all gone. Oh, we’re back. This the show is going okay at one point. And then see what happens when you bring up Jeff in the shower. I’m just telling you, it’s it’s it’s absolutely it’s absolutely a problem. All right. Okay. He’s He’s apparently back. Let’s Let’s see. Let’s see if he’s actually back. Sorry, guys. What a guy. What a guy. Now I got to bring down your volume again because it sounds all wonky. Anyways, back to the root of the question. They’re not going to invent uh uh or a defensive opener. They’re not going to go that route. But I appreciate, you know, um there are no wrong answers. Definitely no right. That’s not a right answer. So So you’re saying this idea is too good to work. Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night. I I get it. That’s what my wife tells me about all my ideas. Could Teao be traded? Sure. Of course. that it’s it’s a game. Baseball works that way where you can do things. Uh Richie had uh 499 super chat. Thank you very much, Richie. Moving the conversation forward. He says, “I love Teao. Uh I would be crushed if he got traded, but this is a business and feelings only get in the way of rings. I got emotionally attached to him, but we can get emotionally unattached to him or pray for him to, you know, succeed elsewhere provided it doesn’t happen. I promise you he’ll get equally as emotionally attached to Byron Buckton. The the point of the matter is on that we have talked for a while already this off season about the outfield needing help and there being this very clear like impediment in the road in the middle of the road to getting better and that is Teayscar Hernandez particularly Teao in right field with his current defensive capabilities which make no sense because dude has good foot speed the sprint speed is there. How do you not know how to bring the sprint speed to the outfield, Teao? Like I understand when you’re running fast, the ball jumps on you a little bit. Just practice. Practice, my friend. I feel like it’s a little like it’s the opposite of me. My coaches just told me, “Man, your legs move real fast, but you’re not going anywhere cuz I I would get to my top speed and just like wasn’t very uh impressive.” Yeah. Yeah. Did you make that? It might just take him a few steps. It might just take him, you know, two steps before he gets to full speed. But the thing is, he’s actually really good going back on balls. And because you remember in 2024, Teo ranked much better as a defensive right fielder than as a left fielder. Um, but when you dug into it, it was mostly because of his arm and a few plays going back. There just happened to be more balls hit over his head in right field than in left field. And for the most, he did have one very highprofile drop on a ball going back this year, but he got there, you know, and for the most part, he’s actually really good at getting the one. it’s just coming in. And so it could be a running technique thing. That’s one of the things that Rick Monday has talked about that, you know, his head’s bouncing because he doesn’t run well. Uh but it could just be that he’s not good at judging balls coming in. And one of those is something you can work on. I don’t know that like if you’re bad at judging fly balls coming in, I don’t know that that’s something you can work on, but I I would think that the physical aspect of poor running technique might be the more likely culprit anyway. You know, and one of the ideas I’ve had for a show we ought to do this off seasonason is what do what do we want specific people working on this offseason? you know, and whether it’s Teao coming in on balls, Hon Kim learning to play the outfield, Andy Pes, everything related to base running and sliding, you know, like there’s things for people to work on. And I think that, you know, Teao obviously he’s a great athlete, so show that commitment to being a good outfielder because if he could even be league average defensively, he’s a huge asset to the team. And you know, this is a a great time for Jason’s super chat. 59,000 of those Indonesian rupia I think it is. I always forget what it is. But Jason says regardless of whether they trade him or not, this trade rumor is a good wakeup call for Teao to light a fire under him. I personally think he will improve if we keep him. Uh the whole offense is guilty. Yeah, I mean offensively that’s that’s a different story. And obviously his bat kind of disappeared on him um in the later stretches of of the uh of the postseason, but really it’s about getting better and and in center field and in right field and in left field and the Dodgers get better in right field if they get a better center fielder because Pahz moves to right and he is the best right fielder on the active roster. So, that’s kind of the thought there of this again, this immovable object that could be moved in the middle of the road. Like, how does this Dodgers team get better? Well, it’s either Teao getting traded, getting better at defending in right field, or getting better at defending in left field and being open to playing left field. But to the question, I don’t think they trade him, but I wouldn’t be horribly shocked if they did because it’s a team that wants to keep on winning. Winning’s fun. there there’s I if they make it known that Tay Oscar is available for trade there will be a market for him. It’s a very movable contract. He’s a very good hitter and there are enough teams in baseball even outside of the National League West that need designated hitters or a designated hitter, excuse me. So there will be a market for him. It’s not going to be anything crazy, but I don’t think the Dodgers would be pressed for suitors for somebody like De Oscar. Yeah, absolutely. Well, that’s our Tay Oscar conversation. Um, let’s hang out with the chat a little bit longer and then we’ll eventually sign off. But people people had some thoughts um from shower conversation and it’s disturbing that shower talk. I can’t read the little comments. Uh, Noah had sent us a $1.99 super chat asking which soap do you use JJ? And if you know, you know. Dove. He uses Dove 100%. Irish. I actually use I use Kirkland brand from Costco and I love it. Oh, I hate the smell of that stuff. Oh, it’s so gross. Oh, really? So, I’ve been an Irish Spring guy uh most my brother and I used to do Irish Spring commercials in the shower together when we were kids. Um, this was like 2, three years ago. Anyway, I’m going to leave you guys to think about that. Very wholesome. But yeah, so I I’ve done Irish Spring and I’ve done Libra 2000, but I’m a Kirkland guy now. It’s affordable and it’s actually really good soap and it and it lasts longer. That’s the thing. It’s like This is bar soap, I’m assuming. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh, it’s the bar soap. That’s the bar soap. Kev, you are you are you a body wash or a bar? Are you a lofah guy, Kevin? No, absolutely not. I don’t even know what a lofah. I didn’t even know what a lofah was until like a year ago. Listen, to borrow from Bart Simpson, I wash myself with a rag on a stick. No, I use Old Spice, baby. Hell yeah. Slaps. Slap pants. That’s what’s up. You know what? Hey, do you know did you know that you can get Oldspice uh through the Amazon now? I didn’t know that. Very recently figured this out and you could do the subscribe and save and then all of a sudden soap just shows up at your house like every month or two months or three months, however long. I got the two pack so probably like like three months. I don’t know. I shower every day just so everybody’s aware. My deodorant is Old Spice. I like that. It’s name. Uh what do I use? I think yeah, I’m on the Old Spice. I was an axe boy for a little while, but you know, we all grew up high school used axe. Yeah. Richie says, “Linton, Jeff, the bathtub, please. I’m eating dinner with Mrs. Richie, and I see the numbers. There’s not a bathtub in the world that could fit Clint and Jeff in it at the same time. I have a big bathtub, but even mine Yeah. like I know it fits me and my wife at the same time if you know what I mean, but uh my my wife is definitely uh smaller than Clint. I I mean I would hope for for her sake for sure. Uh in Snafu says, “I bet Clint has a rubber ducky.” I do not have a rubber ducky, but I do have a ducky uh a chlorine floater that is in my pool and I need to add more chlorine tablets to it. If you know, stop looking at me, swan. Victor says, “Also, it’s fluffy, not fat.” No, I mean, it’s both. It’s definitely both. Michael said, “Free Willy.” Gabriel Glacius isn’t here. Free Willie. Diane, I agree. TMI, we’re getting the face palm emojis from Diane. Maybe maybe it’s about time to to hit that wrap it up button. Also, seems like our viewer numbers are going up, you know. I don’t know. Yeah, I was going to say I don’t want anyone complaining. I see no greed number go up. Greed number good. And then it just dropped by nine right as I was saying that. So yeah. Yeah. Um well I mean you know obviously everybody is is a is a Jeff hater. So whenever you talk all the people tune out. I think that’s the way that’s what I heard. So those are the words on the street. GI says uh all of this talk about you guys showering has made a bunch of people throw up in their mouths. And if we don’t do that then what are we doing with our lives? We are here to make you throw up in your mouth. insert silly handle. Irish Spring in the house. Um uh my buddy Cooper’s in the chat says thanks for the live chat while he’s late night printing some shirts. Cooper of course is a guy who uh who well I guess there’s none of his graphics on the screen right now. I got to bring back the logo but he’s made all of the Dodgers all Dodgers logos and I appreciate that guy including very soon you guys will see the new Jeff logo. Um I can’t afford to get one for for Kevin so nobody ask about that one. My head’s too big. It would take up the whole screen. Well, I mean, Jeff’s head’s pretty big. It’s pretty big. I think that’s about uh about time to hit the old wrap it up button. We’ve had people uh definitely people are dropping out at this point in time. Diane says, “Smash that like button for the boys.” You guys should definitely do that on the way out. We’d appreciate it. Thank you for watching. Thank you for listening. Thank you for tuning in to this edition of All Dodgers, whatever it was exactly. Um if you’re looking for a different way to support the show, check out check out the Patreon. I didn’t plug this last week, but uh patreon.com/realfr or click the join button here on YouTube. It’s five bucks a month to continue shower conversation on Discord where uh we are at different points active. I’ve been bad. I need to get back in there. I apologize to everybody, but I will be back uh talking more Dodgers and Dodgers off season with everybody. And it also directly supports the boys here and supports the show. uh it doesn’t go to anybody else who demands 150 terrible aggregate articles. Um, shout out to FanDuel for supporting the show, presenting the show. Shout out to the Believe Network for having us on their network. Hopefully they still do after the final segment of this show. Uh, anything else to add? Hey, only about a minute remaining on my computer update. Okay, this is good. Well, we’ll just wait and then we’ll we’ll come back and we’ll do the show. Hopefully by tomorrow’s episode when we talk about show Hey, winning the MVP. I’ll be back on my computer. Paul SK is a New York Yankee or something like that. I don’t know. Breaking news. Well, I guess there’s nothing else to say, but also thank you to the moderators that one. And also, bye. [Music]

  1. Die hard Dodger fan love Teo but I watch every game I could say the guy takes plays off I love the guy but in field sometime his focus is not there hey we all been there just saying great team mate rally guy we will lose that intangible things that TEO KIKI , Miguel bring but at what point to you say good bye this is always hard when those things that can’t be measures on some body chart that why it so hard to repeat😮

  2. Dodgers have been playing 7 months of baseball each past two years and I can almost guarantee next season a lot of their regulars (freeman, mookie, Muncie and Edmond) will probably not play everyday early in season. I predict Teo will be very productive/key early next season and give the regulars some rest. The idea is trading Teo just doesn’t make sense. I am sure they will work on his defense. Dodgers need to focus on getting younger c’

  3. Also Jeff I've also had the defensive opener idea. I was thinking of it for Teo as well, but also from the perspective of catcher, since Will Smith is famously the worst framer in all of Baseball and Rortvedt was slightly above average, as well as the fact that we *desperately* needed as many innings from our starters as possible due to the state of the pen, and every additional flipped ball strike call has a surprisingly massive effect on length (not so surprising if you know anything about the degree to which the state of the count affects batting outcomes).

Using unironic league-worst defense guys like Teo and Will as high leverage pinch hitters means you can maximize value our of their bats even if not maximizing their PAs while avoiding their disastrous defense. I think it's not a terrible idea in general if you have players on your roster with such a massive gap between their offensive and defensive capabilities.

We didn't see them use this for Teo but they did use it for Will a few times, which I was really glad to see.

  4. I'm okay with keeping Teo you need clubhouse guys to win. Obviously, his defense is awful but I can live with him in LF rather than RF. If we can get Byron for CF I don't mind Pages in RF Teo in LF. If worst comes to worst you can play Tommy in CF and Byron in RF and rotate Teo and Pages on LF.
