Keith says the Yankees have to stop sacrificing accountability due to fear of being proven wrong:
And there were people that drew parallels. I was off for the whole week after the World Series, but people talked about, you know, Andy Pah having to sit down and Miguel Rojos playing and how, you know, Dave Roberts made decisions with some of his starters that struggled like, yo, you got to get dropped in the lineup, Mookie Betts. And those are things that it seemed like the Yankees won’t do. The Yankees die hard on their own decisions, their trades, their contracts, and their roster decisions even in the moment. Like Vulpi is struggling. You have Cababayro and you won’t go to him. What? Because like you this is like foolish pride. No, we’re trying to win. Bro, I don’t know how many times I use the word meritocracy. It’s supposed to be based off of talent. The best are supposed to play. If somebody is not getting it done, they don’t just get the job because like you don’t want to have egg on your face. You don’t want to be wrong. Like this the New York Yankees supposed to be the highest level. You know, it’s supposed to be the highest level of, you know, Brian Kman said he wants it to be, you know, the mecca of baseball.
Keith says the Yankees need to take notes from Dave Roberts and the Dodgers.
