  1. FTR I don’t believe Shedeur is all that good. I think if he was any good in practice he would have been starting already. We’d be hearing scuttlebutt from Josiah Anderson and others who would be hearing from players that there’s players wanting to see him, and we’ve heard none of that. Its been media and fans only calling for him.

With that said, I see no harm in playing him and finding out one way or another. If he sucks then it only helps the tank to acquire a good QB, and if he’s actually good then we have a QB that we can build around.

Either way, I’d much rather see Dillion, Shedeur, hell even Zappe over Watson.

  2. Here me out. Play Watson and injure him again bad enough that he has to sit out the 2026 season and we can collect on the insurance again and get more cap relief.

  3. This gif is perfection. I could be convinced this is actually what’s being said in the scene lol

  4. On one hand, I like the idea of playing Watson so he can embarrass himself. Does anyone else think this might be a ploy to get him to retire?

If anyone thinks Shedeur is going to step in a light the world on fire, they’re delusional. He wasn’t that great in college against mid talent, didn’t look good in preseason, and I suspect he looks the same in practice. If he was killing it there they would have started him over Gabriel. I’m guessing they’ll give Gabriel one or two more starts, then try out Shedeur just to verify their eyes aren’t lying to them. Maybe he’ll do better than expected and he’ll have some trade value, but either way he’ll be gone next year. I’m sure management is sick of hearing from *his* fanbase about how incompetent they are for not playing him.

But looking over the free agent QBs available next year and knowing our front office, I wouldn’t be surprised it they pursue Justin Fields.
