Too bad they’ve blown basically all their assets… what could they even put together for him that would be appealing? Maybe with no extension they could get there, but certainly not if he’s open to signing an extension there.
Good. The contract/pending trade situation has been hanging over the Flames for a year.
Lol, this trade is either gonna piss off flames fans or leafs fans. Either they give us a shitty return and we get pissed, or they give up Cowan and leafs fans are pissed. Probably would be a fair trade though Rasmus probably runs their powerplay and plays 24 mins there.

I don’t see this happening, Toronto doesn’t have the assets, and a better trade will likely be had at deadline. Why rush it for a garbage return? We don’t need a Tanev 2.0 trade.
Heard this a few times lately but have yet to hear even a guess as to what Calgary would get in return. Not a single name, so it can’t be good. Conroy doing Brad a solid for “future deals”?

I’d do Cowan and their ’28 1st easily, that could become a very valuable pick by then as they’re starting to decline imo. It’d be nice if we could package a winger too like Sharangovich, but Leafs are trying to save cap space so doubt that will happen

Cowan and 28′ 1st absolutely cannot be moved for fucking Rasmus Anderson. Ben Danford probably doesn’t get moved in this type of deal.
So that leaves Nick Robertson + Domi/Benoit/Joshua/Jarnkrok + a whatever prospect like Holinka or Chadwick.
Calgary can probably do better than that.
Can’t wait to get Matias Macielli and a conditional 2nd back.

I don’t see the Leafs being a fit. It would be like if the Oilers tried to trade for Rasmus. We’re looking at a team with no picks or good prospects, and all their current top players are untouchable/not a fit with the window of our team. I think we’d get a better deal elsewhere.
Maybe putting it out there to see if other GMs phone Craig? Start a market for him.
