Some interesting tidbits from Dana. Love hearing the commitment to keeping Paredes. However at the same time he said both that they're not considering moving Paredes to 2B and that they haven't talked about trading Walker. Of course, his statement on Walker was far less enthusiastic than what he said about Paredes, could be just keeping his cards close to the vest?

  1. Yeah no shit. Put him at first and we have one of the more stout infields in all MLB.

EDIT: idc what we do with Walker.

  2. After last season, I have zero expectations that all starters will be healthy at the same point for any significant stretch of the season. The infield logjam will assuredly sort its self out.

  3. Trade Walker! Isaac at 2B. Altuve at 2B/DH. Start converting Yordan from LF to 1B. Have Yordan 1B/DH. Grab an outfielder in the offseason + call up Melton. Throw a cautious offer at Ranger Suarez. Sign Dylan Cease and Zac Gallen (Josh Miller will fix them). Sign Edwin Diaz to make our bullpen rival 2022. 2026 World Series champs!

I live in a pretend world where money grows on trees but a man can dream.

  4. I don’t think we need to move any of them unless there is a deal just too good to pass up. Correa at 3rd Peña at SS, Paredes at 2nd, Walker at 1st, and have Altuve/Yordan platoon LF and DH. If any of our infielders go to the IL, then it’s easy to move guys around. Paredes can shift around to 1st and 3rd with Altuve coming in at 2nd. Correa can shift to SS if needed. I know people have their doubts about Paredes at 2nd, but he can’t be any worse defensively than Altuve. Walker hits just fine for someone who is 6-7 in the lineup. The plan for the offseason should be spending money to load up on pitching. The rest of the team is fine.

    My lineup would be:

    1. Smith RF
    2. Peña SS
    3. Yordan LF/DH
    4. Paredes 2nd
    5. Altuve LF/DH
    6. Correa 3rd
    7. Walker 1st
    8. Diaz C
    9. Meyers CF

I’m hoping to see Zach Cole continue to hit the way he did at the end of the season and our biggest problem is how do we fit him into the lineup.

  5. I think they should shop Pena, as much as it pains me to type that. The free agent shortstop class is terrible outside of Bichette and so many teams (Braves & Yankees especially) would be interested in him and the haul could be outrageous. They can move Correa back to short, keep Paredes at third, accept they’re unable to move that Walker contract (at least this year), while cashing out on a career year from Pena.
