Will Sammon – The Athletic:

At a time when club executives are doubting whether some top-of-the-rotation pitchers get moved, Kansas City Royals lefty starter Kris Bubic, an All-Star last season, is garnering trade interest from multiple teams, league sources said.

In need of offense and boasting some pitching depth, the Royals are open to the possibility of dealing Bubic, people familiar with the club’s thinking said.

The Royals may move someone other than Bubic — or multiple pitchers, which may or may not end up including Bubic. But league sources suggest that it’s unlikely that the Royals would trade Cole Ragans, their ace, especially after a down season and with him under club control for multiple seasons. It’s equally unlikely that they’d trade veterans Michael Wacha and Seth Lugo after both starters made commitments to Kansas City.

  1. If you can get someone to overpay for him, I’d say do it. His last season was the first good one and it got cut short by injury.

  2. I love Bubic, but of all our young pitching talent, he’s the one I most want to trade. The injury risk is just not worth keeping him over say Noah Cameron.

  3. They should be he was going to be a top 5 cy young finalist if he stayed healthy teams will take risks for that upside
