NFL Week 11 preview 2025: Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC

Bears at the Vikings. The Bears have won six out of seven. The Vikings are as up and down and back and forth as any team in the NFL. Vikings are favored by three with an over under of 48.5. Remember, the Vikings beat the Bears Monday night to start the season. You have picked the Bears straight up and against the spread every week this season except week two against the Lions. Are you gonna do it again? That’s crazy. Well, I always let you go first with your Minnesota Vikings, but yeah, you know me. I mean, I’d love me some Ben Johnson. I love me some Caleb Williams and you know they’ve had a favorable schedule this year. So, uh I definitely have been riding that train a little bit and you know they’ve skirted by. I don’t know if they’re truly a six and three football team, but go ahead. Let me hear what you’re going to do here with your Vikings Bears team. Well, so much of it depends upon things that we don’t know and won’t know until the game gets started. What kind of a game plan is Kevin O’Connell going to concoct? Is it going to be balanced with heavy reliance on the run and less reliance on JJ McCarthy right last week and it got out of whack. They had those eight false starts and nobody like Paul Allen was on PFT live with me today. Nobody knows how why and how they had eight false starts in that game. That that made it harder to run the ball because first and 10 becomes first and 15. Second and seven becomes second and 12. I’ve proven I can add five to any given number which is one of my few skills. But we’ve got the the latest injury with JJ McCarthy. He hit his hand on a helmet and he practiced yesterday, but he he wasn’t seen throwing the ball during the portion of practice that was open to the media. He did his press conference with his hands in the pockets of his hoodie the whole time, so nobody could see, you know, if his hands bruised or whatever. Maybe he’s been shaking hands aggressively too often. I don’t know. But I I wonder how healthy he’s going to be. And if you can’t do the full week of prep, Kevin Oonnell said this weeks ago, he needs that full week of prep. Yes, he does. How will they adjust the game plan? Will they rely on the run? Their backs are kind of against the wall. They need to win two of the next three. They’ve got the Bears at the Packers at the Seahawks. If they don’t win two of the next three, they’re done. Yeah, they need this one, right? And I think they get it by a razor thin margin. 24-23 late field goal from Will Riker, maybe from 60 yards plus that won’t hit a wire. Or maybe it will and bank in. And I don’t know, but I think the Vikings win this one by one point. I don’t feel good about it at all. I’ve been right about the Vikings losses lately. I was wrong about the Lions game. I think this one they need it too badly. They’re going to find a way to make it happen. Yeah. I mean, I’m I’m actually surprised. I I can’t I can’t believe we’re chalk here so far. I did not think you would take the Falcons. I definitely didn’t think you were going to take the Vikings in this football game. I’m also going to go with the Vikings here. Yeah. you know, well, the Vikings are going to move the ball on the Bears D if JJ McCarthy can play. I mean, the Bears defense is not good at all. Right. The the Bears had a shamrock, a horseshoe, and other objects up their ass to win that game last week. I mean, if Jackson Dart doesn’t fumble, they’re about to go up 24 to7 and it’s night night. See you later. I mean, they’re inside the 15 yd line. So, I mean, they were fortunate. They really were. And then, you know, the other thing is, you know, uh they’re not playing great ball. I don’t think the Bears right now, even on the offensive side of the ball, they’re making plays, but I’m not going to sit here and go, “Oh, it’s surgical and systematical, they’re too reliant on Kayla, make a play, wide receiver, make a play, do something of that nature.” I don’t think Brian Flores and that defense and Minnesota’s going to let that happen. And with the Vikings be at home, being at home and desperate. Yeah, I’m gonna go Vikings 2723. Wow. All right. Well, there you go. You got the Vikings covering, too. I wasn’t willing to go that far. And and by the way, when you mentioned other objects, I I had a flashback to that great scene in Jaws where they cut the stomach of the shark open and they pull out like a license plate in Louisiana and a shoe. Yeah. Like there’s a lot of stuff up there for the Chicago Bears. Yo yo yo. Thanks for watching, homies. We are now in the NFL season here on Chris Sims Unbutton.
