Val out Week to Week, Girard returns

  1. Good to hear “not that serious” for Val, seems like every season he gets a LBI and is gone for a solid two months, during which our powerplay looks absolutely anemic. Good news is, the powerplay already isnt that great so maybe we will feel his absence less than usual.

  2. Hopefully Brindley does well in his minutes and he learns a lot. Does this include 2nd PP time?

  3. It’s fun to watch Gavin fully grab his opportunity! He’s clearly already gained the trust of Bednar and the front office

  4. Lord it’s been a busy news day. Taylor Makar called up as well. No update on LOC yet. Excited for Brindley though. Well deserved move.

  5. I’m excited to see Brindley get second line minutes. I hope he takes full advantage and this will be good for his development.

  6. It helps we have a relatively “easy” schedule the next couple weeks. We don’t play a team in the top 10 of the league until Montreal on the 29th. Then we don’t play another one until the 23rd of December.

  7. I’m sure we’ll see a bit of Olofson on line 2 tonight as well. I’m hoping GB54 lights it up tonight though. I’m weirdly confident he will

  8. Brinds on the second line is interesting, if he plays well the FA will have some options. Particularly in regards to a guy like Goaloffson, and what they want to do with him after this season. Since he’s only on a one year deal, if Brinds the wee monster can contribute, it would make losing Olaf after the season easier to swallow. Or they could use Olafsson as an asset before the trade deadline to address whatever we need at that point. If it all pans out, I could see Brindley taking his spot on the 3rd line next season.

  9. Heal up quick Val.

I hope Girard is feeling good, wouldn’t be surprised if he has a little pressure on him as honestly, I think the defense has been looking pretty good, and I’ve been happy with our lines we’ve been rolling. I don’t want to talk badly about our spinny boy but I haven’t missed him on as much as I thought I would. Burns was an incredible pick up for us, and the rest of the D squad has been doing what’s asked of them. Pretty good problem to have when you don’t know who to scratch from your D because everyone is healthy and everyone is playing well. Glad he’s healthy again regardless of my opinion on defensive play in his absence.

Stoked on the rest though. Really excited for Brindley. Kid has a wicked shot, he’s got that Bedard flick and release going on. I think he’s going to do really well and is going to be our next LOC kind of guy, dude grinds and really wants to be here.

Huge signing on Wedge. Obviously he’s proven he can be leaned on when called and once Blackwood is fully up and running he can start getting the rest he’s earned.

  10. Brindley is a fucking fire cracker. Live the pace he plays with. Good to see him getting the recognition.
