Elliotte Friedman reveals a MASSIVE Blues Trade UPDATE…

NHL insider Elliot Freeman reveals a massive St. Louis Blues trade detail going into reports on Jordan Kyu after being scratched and everything is turning upside down in St. Louis as these reports have got insane. We’re going to break down these trade reports around Jordan Kyu from Elliot Freeman and other insiders and exactly what Doug Armstrong is looking at heading into the remainder of the season with their star Ford. We’re going to break down all this and so much more in this episode, Darius. But let’s just dive straight into where we know Jordan Cyro going into last game versus the Buffalo Sabres was a healthy scratch. This had a lot of fans in a bit of an uproar. We see that they’re speaking on BCH. A lot of fans want to boot scratched. What is your thoughts on this? Before we get into the reports and everything on them scratching Jordan Ky, we can see the report from Elliot Freeman. It’s interest to me that every time the Blues Ben shown, it’s always Kyu. I think it’s kind of funny because as soon as it was announced that he was getting scratched, all of a sudden you get all these leaks, you get these rumors, these reports about him possibly being traded, one that we’re about to get to about a trade that fell through during the summer, which is absolutely insane. So stay tuned for that. We’re going to get into that, of course, with the updated stuff, too. But a lot of people were calling for boots to get, you know, scratched and said, but Jim Montgomery is playing 4D chess here with this move. It’s not about scratching the player that’s not performing the best. It’s about letting the team know nobody’s safe. If you guys continue to play this way, somebody’s getting it. Either you’re getting traded or you’re sitting in the press box because Kyu hasn’t even been that bad. If you look up and down the lineup, there’s guys that have been obviously a lot worse. And of course, there’s certain guys like BC, you know, he’s not going to put up like 80 points or something like that. You know that. But even for, you know, what we know him to be, he has not been performing well. And you could take a look at the events analytics. That’s not good. anytime you’re rated a two on defense is out of 100 is not good. So, um, when going back to Kyu, I think it was more not necessarily about his play, but sending a message to the rest of the team. Now, I could be wrong because Freriedman brings up a good point about how every time it’s him getting scratched. It seems like it’s always Kyu. Is there something there has been in trade rumors in trade reports the last couple years at this point and obviously his no movement clause just kicked in on July 1st. they were actively, you know, not shopping him, I guess I’ll put it, but this summer his name was out there a lot and it seems like there was a trade out there with the Montreal Canadians as well, which turned into something else with Logan Mayu. Of course, we’ll talk about that in a different video. But Mark, I think it’s very interesting that all of this is coming out now as well. And I think the big thing is, listen, Jordan Cyro as a regular season player, everyone loves him. He goes out to put up 70 points a season. We see the 30 plus goals each and every year. But the biggest thing that a lot of fans rag on for him is the playoff performance. Listen, he had nine points in 12 games and 2122, but the lack of hits, the physicality. This is what turns fans sour on a player like this going into his numbers this year. Listen, eight points in 14 games doesn’t seem like a lot, but this is the Blues team that is struggling to get consistent goal scoring throughout the entire lineup. We’ve seen Robert Thomas miss time. We’ve seen Jake Neighbors miss time. We’re seeing Jordan Kyu get scratched. But Darius, this all falls into multiple reports coming around this team. The first one, Elliot Freeman on the hockey show going in to say that he believes there is a deal this summer that would have sent Jordan Kyu to Seattle and it involved the eighth overall pick. Now, we’re going to dive into the reports on the trades that are heating up now. But what is your initial thoughts on this that Doug Armstrong had the possibility to get not only the eighth overall, but it seemed like more assets coming back? And like you mentioned, we’re about to get into some of the newer reports because there’s a lot going on and Jordan Kyru’s name is out there actively right now. But in terms of this, I heard the Montreal Canadians in the summer as well. And then obviously there was a trade here that fell through that would have given the Blues, first of all, the exact roster that they have right now on paper because Kyu was scratched last game. It would give them Jacob O’Brien, you know, in theory of course if they ended up picking him, but that’s who went eighth overall to Seattle, who scored 70 goals in the OHL, by the And I know it’s junior hockey, but holy smokes, that’s a lot of goals in one season. That’s Wayne Gretzkyesque numbers in this year, you know, in 2025. So would have given them that and a roughly $10 million in cap space, a little bit less, of course. Uh plus Tory Krug’s contract to go out and make moves either in free agency or uh during the season this year. So I thought that was pretty crazy, but of course, here we are now. It didn’t end up happening and Kyu’s still on the team. And I think the big thing is looking at Jordan Kairo yet on the team. You don’t want Texas as your topline forward. We’ve seen Jim Montgomery shake this up during the game, sliding them down. But I think the biggest thing is the Blues have so much firepower or in theory they should have firepower up front. You can see the wingers on this team, the deepest spot of the roster, Snugroot, Shen, even moving to the winger position. Holloway BCH, there’s so many guys on this team, not even including Jake Neighbors that are elite wingers that can step up in this. But we do go into the new report from Elliot Freeman on 32 thoughts going in last year at 8.125. I don’t know how many teams are there, but now I kind of wonder if more people might look at it and say, I kind of like this guy. He’s locked in. So when tying this into the reports that Seattle was in on him in the draft, we can see going to David Pegnota, Jordan Cyro has a player they’ve talked around the draft. Both the Islanders and Canadians had talks. Funny enough, both these teams made a trade where we see Montreal trade two picks to acquire Noah Dobson. I mean, Darius, looking at this, we know Seattle, Montreal, Islanders are three teams that have shown interest with him being scratched. Listen, I don’t want to jump into conclusions that this means he’s on the move. We’ve seen Cam Robinson speak that, hey, this was not trade related, but proving a point, but going into everything, we’re seeing that he’s the consistent guy being scratched. We know the problems that he’s had with coaches in the past or at least coaches with him. What is your thoughts on all this? And if the team continues to struggle, you have that contract 8.125 which is a good contract going into a rising cap role. We know the player has to allow a trade to go through. What is your thoughts on all this tying in? And do you think there is a true chance that Jordan Kyu may be the piece that they ship off to prove a point to the rest of the roster? Couple things here. I think with Jordan Kairo when you look into the past obviously didn’t have a no movement clause would have been easier to trade him before but maybe more teams would have been reluctant last year like Freriedman was saying there where you know you look at his salary and you don’t know how much the salary cap’s going up right hindsight’s 2020 of course we didn’t know last year at the start of the year or even you know a little bit before that how much it was going to go up now I absolutely believe teams are interested I think teams were interested last summer and they couldn’t get it done before July 1 and they just let it be the other thing is and of course a lot of what you talked about you uh issues with coaches in the past, Craig Brew for example, right? And another thing that you brought up in terms of term, I think that you know other teams would be attracted to that. There’s a lot of GMs around the league that are okay making moves at the deadline, let’s say, for rentals, but there’s other GMs, for example, like a Bradshshire living in Toronto and many others that like to acquire players with term. They want to make their team better now and they want that player to have term on their contract and that’s what Kyu has. The other thing is Mark is if you look at the lineup right now, right now this team is well outside the playoffs, right? And we’re hoping that they will make the playoffs and I do think ultimately that they will. But if you look at it right now, Shen’s getting older. Sudter is not a long-term solution. Of course, he is a good player right now. But if you look at the center depth, some of the wings, for example, this team is getting older in certain spots. And at some point soon, you’re going to have to start handing the keys off to some of the younger players like a Stenberg, like a D’vorski who has looked good at the NHL level so far this year. And like who is Jordan Kyu’s replacement at some point? Justin Carbono is coming through, right? And he’s had a great season so far at the QMJHHL level. Now, that’s in the future, but I wonder if the Blues are looking at a situation right now where it’s like, hey, we got a handful of teams that are interested in him right now that would make this trade. Do we do this right now? Especially if we’re on the outside looking in at the playoff pitcher. It could be the time to do it. Obviously, I still hope they make the playoffs, but I do think, you know, Doug Armstrong doesn’t like to sit on his hands. I feel like he is considering everything. And I think the big thing is Doug Armstrong is one of the most active gyms we’ve seen in our ages. So I think he’s going to really look at this. Look at the offers. If a team like the New York Islanders or the Montreal Canadians are going to offer a lot the bag to bring Kairo to their team, Doug Armstrong is going to have to look at every option. And like you said, Justin Carell, the only player in the queue right now over a goal per game. So he is looking redot and ready to join the team next year. Ben fans, what is your thoughts on these reports? What is your thoughts on the missed opportunity on eighth overall pick? Would have this been the proper move? Would you rather see key players come back? Let us know all your thoughts down in the comments. And speaking of comments, let’s go straight in the comments today. Coming from Ace Rob, I don’t think nobody will get traded. Keep holding players accountable. And it’s also time to sip bch in my opinion. And listen, that’s the big thing. I don’t think you go out and make a trade today, tomorrow, or the next day. But getting closer to going to the Olympics, they’re going to have to figure something out cuz gyms are going to be very active. And we know Doug Armstrong’s gonna be at the sail of that ship going out trying to make any move possible. Let us know your thoughts down in the comments. You could be featured on comment today. While you’re down there, leave a like, subscribe, share this with your friends. We’ll be back in another episode. So keep ride for that. But I’ve been your host Mark with my co-host ears and take care Blue Sand.

  1. The team plays like shit when hes on the ice. He puts up numbers but doesnt fit with this team. His style of play is too different. Theyve tried countless guys on a line with him and they cant put together a good line that matches well with him. Hes good but not a good fit for this team. Ive said this for a few years. He isnt the only one underperforming right now even with putting up 40 goals and 70 points he feels like a negative because the rest of the team falls off playing with him.

  2. The problem with Kyrou is that , sometimes he's dynamic, and, sometimes, he's invisible–and ,for someone with his speed, he's not very good defensively. Still, he's a proven 30 goal guy, and his scoring would be hard to replace.

  3. armstrong cant build a roster an part of it is the stillman group wont rebuild properly alway having to profit .. blues are a profit only team and with a cap thats on armstrong ..

  4. At some point, we're going to have to look at Armstrong. Not trading Buchnevich, and extending him. Extending Fowler WAY to early. Mailloux has been a disaster. Dude has been taking Ls left and right…but were going to hang the blame on Kyrou. The entire roster is under performing…but its Kyrou again. At this point, trade him. Get him out of this toxic environment

  5. He doesnt fit the salarial structure of the Habs…Suzuki , Caufield, Slafkovski, Hutson are all making between 7 and 8.5 millions…Kyrou is a 2nd liner if all goes well!…no room for him!

  6. The elephant in the room that nobody is talking about is the lackluster play of Jordan Kyrou. He loses every 50/50 puck challenge, every time the puck is on the boards he loses it, he NEVER stands around the net, he dumps the puck in instead of finesse puck handling to set up a play. When the pressure is on he folds under the pressure. The Blues tried trading him before July 1 last summer and nobody wanted him. Kyrou doesn't play 200 foot hockey. Every coach that he has had tries to get Kyrou to play a Dylan Holloway style of play. He will go through the motions for a few games and then back to his lackluster play on defense. He's a great goal scorer but that doesn't work in the NHL today. When he played in the minor league same problem. Kyrou is making $8.1 million per year and is signed for another 5 years. We need to get rid of him and Buchnevich

  7. of course MTL wants to trade for Kyrou, they absolutely fleeced the Blues on the Bolduc/Mailloux trade.
They might as well try and rip'em off again!

  8. I guarantee it . Wherever Kyrou or Buchy goes they will be superstars. Which sucks every time for us. Look how well Vince Dunn is doing with Seattle. He was a complete DUD here after we won the cup.
