Report from day one of Dolphins’ trip to Madrid, Spain

This is day one of Miami Dolphins trip to Madrid to face the Washington Commanders. I’m Omar Kelly with the Miami Herald. The Dolphins are here at Athletical Madrid, one of the soccer teams here in Madrid and they’re participating in the practice. They’ve got a cold tub, a hot tub, steam room, saunas. Those are things that they definitely need to care for their bodies. But a lot of players said they actually brought their masseuse and physical therapists here to Madrid with them so that they can get themselves right for game day. This team is also one of those teams where they’re they’re working to get themselves into a routine. They had a routine against the Atlanta Falcons. You saw the success that they had in that game. Obviously, the Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens threw them off their routine. They only had walkthroughs, didn’t have a chance to practice. This week is about replicating the same routine they had for the Baltimore Ravens where you saw that success that they had. From an injury standpoint, Austin Jackson, the starting right, right tackle, he is back at practice. His window of opportunity to come off the IR has been open and Dolphin’s got Chop Robinson back on the practice field. He’s undergoing he’s still in the concussion protocol, but he’s close to clearing it. I believe he has to have one more practice and get cleared by a neur neurological specialist. And we’ve also got an injury front with Aon Brewer who it looks like he suffered some kind of leg injury and his his practice participation was limited. or Su Douglas’s pract participation was limited as well. It’ll be interesting to see who continues to replace those players. Obviously, we saw how Juju Brent played in his replacement for for Russell Douglas, and we will know soon who will play for Aon Brewer if he hasn’t sit out Sunday’s game.
