NHL Highlights | Sabres vs. Avalanche | November 13, 2025

Nelson will take the opening draw and it’s pulled
back to the ELA. Manson will go and send it in for Cole. Knocked away by the sails and co of the
boards. Nelson got cut off there by Conor Timonss the former Avalanche prospect. Bryson down to one.
Long lead pass missed the target and Samuelson. No icing here. Off to a car from Tames. Long stretch
passes has a breakaway. shoots and scores. Marty Nius 52 seconds in able to phone home his 11th
goal of the season and the abs just like that. Well, just what the doctor ordered, but beautiful
breakout tags to Mar. And this is pinpoint perfect on the tape. Marty N’s little fake and the flick
of the wrist. Allah Nathan McKinnon over the glove of Alex. We just talked about it. striker goals in
the first minute and Marty Nius makes no mistake. 52 three games coming into time. Malinsky brings
it up ice slams it for Natious. Top line is in back to Minsky with a box in rebound. Score Lin
crashing the gate to a 98 of the season. And right now number 62 is Red Hawks. Well, and the
one thing in common with all of these goals that Artur Lean is scoring is he’s getting to the paint
to the front of the net, sacrificing his body. It all started at the other end. Sam Gerard a half
torn nod to open up some space and then number two in goals allowed per game at 2.41. Really good to
counter that. Buffalo is 27th in goals for it. 2.6 and 27. Loose P. Jam down. Score Byron. Sorry,
Johnny. It was screened a little bit on black, but I have the perfect line. I’m kind of right
back poking my head out. And when he grabs it, he thinks he has a hold of it. And it sneaks out
of his blocker, glove area, whatever it is. Just dribbles. Watch it follow right there. Thompson’s
in front to knock it over. And Xav Bowen Byron, former fourth overall pick from 2019 for the ABS.
Abs are obviously off to a great start this year. Ps up to the red line. Pounds it off Colton. Right
back in Grimley for Colton. Score. Brock Nelson on a broken play and the ABS have taken a 3-1 lead.
Fourth of the season. Well, quick neutral zone regroup and Bridley to Colton. And I think Colton
touch passes this through the legs of Samson and Brock Nelson. I spoke with him this morning
talking about this second line. Gavin Brinley, you get the opportunity to go to the second
line. You make plays. He’s been doing it all year through a little bit of power. Sometimes when
we’re doing goalie sessions and video, it’s like, oh, we just see that play and you’re like, yeah,
but you have no one’s moving. We talking about the goalie session, Scott, with Blackwood having been
out for score. Oh boy. Greenway just turned and fired and somehow struck through Blackwood. His
seventh game. Oh, well, you seen that quick shot. I think that just kind of surprised Blackwood.
What do you make of that one? Yeah, it’s just a knuckle puck rolling and you know, almost a Mighty
Duck movie there. You just wax at it and you hope so. It just, you know, it comes at you not
level and might have got on the armpit and just snuck through. It’s hard to hold on to those when
they’ve got the rotation on them. Steps in now the boards intercepted by McKenna. Sends it off for
Martin. Back to Lean and it goes. Abs are on side now. McKinnon turnaround shot defected and it goes
off the iron into the play. It goes over to Lean and McKinnon throws his leg back to stay on side.
Gregor, you said it. Deflects off the shinuard of Samuelson and bouncy balls over the pad of Pekka
Lucan and almost goes in. It all started the other end with McKinnon back in the way of that one.
Mloud had closed that gap. Kept in by McCarn given off. Olson is in with the wister. It’s
blocked up. Score’s third disallowed goal. Olson with the shot. Oh, the ice is going to go away.
That’s tough. Jury’s got his the circle. A pass taken away. Mar’s on his horse. And here he goes.
Parker Kelly got knocked down. Lost the glove. Walking in as Mar with a shot over the top of the
net. And that was a ripper. I think Thompson had a little bit behind him though. Byron back to Tate
Thompson. He’ll walk in and a drive move. Watch out. He flips it into the save by Blackwood.
Loose puck in the can’t clear. Sabres kept an eye on him immediately. That was Samson. He did a
really good job. They know he can shoot far side. Quick shot and a save by Lucan. Knocked down by
Linan. Here’s Mar. Now Marty Nis peering in. Finds McKinnon. A back hand sling a save. Rebound comes
to McKinnon. Back to McKinnon. And that tied him up. Holding his ground. And here’s the push. Three
shots on goal. There’s another one that missed. Skip to the near side. ABS keep it alive. Good
job by Luckin across in front. Saved by Lucin. 3-2 Avalanche. This is hardest slash I think I’ve
seen in a long time. Sabres third power play of the game. And a save by Blackwood. Rammed up and
out of a couple different sabers. What a set up by Parker Kelly to clear that zone. Oh my goodness.
What a dime. That’s what Parker Kelly does. Even bigger save by Blackwood earlier through a screen.
Far side Rosen to Thompson score. Tage Thompson rocked back for the one-time in his seventh of the
year. It’s a power play goal and all of the sudden we’ve got a 33 hockey game. Who actually only hit
this one about 82 m an hour but he gets that big 6’6 frame around and just kind of sneaks it under
the blocker. I think Blackwood might have caught a piece of that, Johnny, but it was enough power to
get through. Well, he’s got an absolute bomb of a shot. The quick release. The ABS unfortunately
caught out there for an extended period. We’re only able to get one player off. That was Parker
Kelly after that diving play to able to shovel it out. Gloved down by Bryson yet again will
find Manson. Straight ahead for Brimley. Gavin Brley with a wrist shot. He scores. Gavin Bridley
rips it inside the far post to give the ABS a 4-3 lead. And he shows it off. He’s got skill. He’s
got wheels. And this is a simple quick up play with a drive from the far side of Brock Nelson.
But what a release by Gavin Gridley. Just playing some tremendous hockey. Bachushki goes down.
He gets elevated to the second line. And what a release. There’s a reason why he hasn’t
been eyeing this kid. and he’s essentially said there is no way I’m getting Zious gives it
back for McKennon and he worked his way down the boards but Byron picked that puck up. Here’s Tuck
back the other way. Centering pass shot saved by Blackwood. Heavy release by Ta Thompson and really
limited ice time. Tuck comes in quick little drop pass to Drake snap. Blackwood’s got to be strong
and ready. Mar’s ready for the rebound. See the faceoff numbers. The ABS dominate that situation
but the Buffalo Sabers win this. They try to eat that puck with five to go, but it’s in the slot.
Tip away from Taves. Turn around shot. Back hand and saved by Lucin. For a second, I thought this
was going to go in. Here comes the shot from Taves. There’s Nelson. Picks it out of midair. But
Lukan came so far out using that big 6’5 frame and catches it just kind of on the bicep himself about
it. the way that they knock into you and don’t allow you any clean hits, any clean entrances
to the offensive zone. And he was like in front 6’4 forward who does have some sweet hands. Oh,
and just angles it up. Lukan was real fortunate to get the right hand that look at the quick
hands. Bley’s got that quick twitch muscle. Man, there’s something you can off top unit set up.
Mar at the point finds McKinnon the circle pass save by well this is a sweet play artery liken
gets all of that right in the savers now working hard in the abs zone goes through McKinnon mus
is on the move sends it across deflected off for McKinnon he’s got some speed shoots deflected
rebound 15 that missed everything Taylor Mar’s on his horse down the right wing here he comes to the
circle with his Save by Luke in and he’ll gobble it up. Brent Burns had his stick checked.
Cloud shot down deep. Loose pop. Saved by Blackwood at the post. Oh man. Tage Thompson
banging away. And he gets. It’s double. Long rig wide pass finds the target. M. The club
down low. Saved by Blackwood on the redirect. Oh, that was so close as Samson, the defenseman,
got the green light to the front of the net. Boy, Blackwood stayed with that play. He tracked
the puck the whole time, caught the deflection, made a beautiful blocker save. Here comes
McKinnon and he globes into his own down the wing. McKinnon shot saved by Lucin and crossed
him up and he had to fight it off. Of course, the also dealing without Logan O’Connor.
He’s getting closer to returning. Thompson is in the wrist. Bunker saved by Blackwood.
Many Blackwood’s hand as he comes in on the side. Just pulls that in and snaps and catches
the pop between his legs in stride. Mckinn has ling with it. McKinnon is here in McKinnon
is wide. No hook call there. The shot score ripping it from between the circles and the have
the 53 lead. Nathan McKinnon there for a second but it all starts in the diesel. Marty Niches
takes it off the wall, puts it in start gets caught on the back check, but he stays with it.
And Marty Nes, who starts the play in the Dzone, you see McKinnon battling behind the net. Nas, who
starts the play in the Dzone, is the recipient of that pass from Nathan McKinnon. He doesn’t get
everything on it, but the placement is perfect. High blocker just under the bar up to the
point across for Rosa. His shot and he broke his step lands to find an empty net. Misses
for land and he scores an empty net goal. What an unselfish play by Marty Nes on hat-tick
watch and he sells it. Both savers go to Nes but Lannisto the shot block the broken stick fights
through hold tries to put it in the empty net. Marty Nes he could have taken that forand the back
end wasn’t easy. Nonetheless, Marty Nius with two goals and the ABS defeat the Buffalo Sabers
by a final score of six to3 for Gavin Bridley.

  1. Avalanche are playing hockey but Martin Necas has been playing Minute To Win It for the past three games!!

9 game point streak, 5 game win streak, keep your foot on the gas boys! 😀

  2. I'm an Avalanche fan, so I'm biased, but I want to ask everyone else, was that goalie interference or not? It seemed to me like he was being pushed into the goalie.

  3. The fact that the Av's are scoring at this rate with a Power Play unit that is basement level is crazy. Once the PP unit gels, watch out. Very impressive during the 5 on 5.
