NHL Highlights | Sabres vs. Avalanche – November 13, 2025

We go. Nelson will take the opening draw and it’s pulled back to the EA where Manson will go and send it ahead for Co. knocked away by the sails and co lead pass. Missed the target and Samuelson in no icing here. Off to a car from Tain. Long stretch pass. Nes has a breakaway. Shoots and scores. Marty Nes 52 seconds in. able to float home. His 11th goal of the season and the ABS just what the doctor ordered. But beautiful breakout tames to Mar and this is pinpoint perfect on the tape. Marty Nas little fake and the flick of the wrist. Allah Nathan McKinnon over the glove of Alex. We just talked about it. Riker goals in the first minute and Marty Nas makes no mistake. Three games coming in two time. Minsky brings it up. Slams it for Nous. Top line is in. Back to Minsky with a B. Rebel. Score. Art Lin in crashing the gate to a 98 of the season. And right now number 62 is Red Hawks. Well, and the one thing in common with all of these goals that Artur Lean is scoring is he’s getting to the paint to the front of the net, sacrificing his body. It all started at the other end. Sam Gerard a half torn nod to open up some space and then but number two in goals allowed per game at 2.41. Really good. Counter that. Buffalo 27th in goals for it. 2.6 and 27. Loose puck, jammed out, scored by. Sorry, Johnny. Oh, McKenzie Blackwood had it and it fell out of his glove into the crease. And the former Avalanche there to knock home his second of the year. Screened a little bit on Black, but I have the perfect line. I’m kind of right back poking my head out. And when he grabs it, he thinks he has a hold of it and it sneaks out of his blocker, glove area, whatever it is, and just dribbles. Watch it fall out right there. Thompson’s in front to knock it over. and Xav Bowen Byum, former fourth overall pick from 2019. Abs are obviously off to a great start this year. H up to the red line. Pound it off Colton. Right back in Grimley for Colton. Score. Brock Nelson on a broken play and the ABS have taken a 3-1 lead. His fourth of the season. Well, quick neutral zone regroup and Bridley to Colton. And I think Colton touch passes this through the legs of Samuelson and Brock Nelson. I spoke with him this morning talking about this second line. Gavin Brinley, you get the opportunity to go to the second line. You make plays. He’s been doing it all year through train. A little bit of power pause sometimes when we’re doing goalie sessions and video. It’s like, oh, like see that play and you’re like, yeah, but you have to No one’s moving. Pause. We talking about the goalie session, Scott, with Blackwood having been out for school. Oh boy. Greenway just turned and fired and somehow struck through Blackwood in his seventh game. Oh, well, you seen that quick shot. I think that just kind of surprised Blackwood. What do you make of that one? Yeah, it’s just a knuckle puck rolling and you know, you’re almost a Mighty Duck movie there. You just wax at it and you hope. So it just, you know, it comes at you not level and might have got in the armpit and just snuck through. It’s hard to hold on to those. In the way of that one, Mloud had closed that gap. Kept in by McCart given off. Olivesson is hit with the wister. It’s blocked off. Score almost 17% on the power play. It’s 25th in the National Hockey League. Back to the Avalanche home to start things off for period two. And Devonte is taken away. Mar’s on his horse and here he goes. Parker Kelly got knocked down. Lost the glove. Walking in is Mar with a shot over the top of the net and that was a ripper. I think Thompson had a little bit behind him though. Byron back to Tage Thompson. He’ll walk in and a drive move. Watch out. He flips it in the save by Blackwood. Loose puck and the can’t clear. Sabres kept an eye on him immediately. That was Samuel. He did a really good job. They know he can shoot. Far side. Quick shot and a save by Lucan. Knocked down by Luckin. Here’s Mar now. Marty Nis peering in. Finds McKinnon. A back hand flip and a save. Rebound comes to McKinnon. Back to McKinnon and that tied him up. 43 to go on the PP. Three shots on goal. There’s another one that missed. Skip to the near side. ABS keep it alive. Good job by Lean. Across in front. Save by Lucin of a couple different savers. What a sell out by Parker Kelly to clear that zone. Oh my goodness, what a dime. That’s what Parker Kelly does. Even bigger save by Blackford earlier through a screen far side. Rosen to Thompson. Score. Tage Thompson rocked back for the one-time and his seventh of the year. It’s a power play goal and all of the sudden we’ve got a three hockey game. who actually only hit this one about 82 miles an hour, but he gets that big 6’6 frame around and just kind of sneaks it under the blocker. I think Blackwood might have caught a piece of that, Johnny, but it was enough power to get through and he’s got an absolute bomb of a shot and the quick release. The ABS unfortunately caught out there for an extended period. Were only able to get one player off. That was Parker Kelly after that diving. Able to shovel it out. Gloved down by Bryson yet again will find Manson. Straight ahead for Bridley. Gavin Bridley with a wrist shot. He scores. Gavin Bridley. Rips it inside the far post to give the ABS a 43 lead. Shows it off. He’s got skill. He’s got wheels. And this is a simple quick up play with a drive the far side Nelson. But what a release by Gavin Bridley. Just playing some tremendous hockey. Valushkin goes down. He gets elevated to the second line and what a release. There’s a reason why the abs have been high on this kid. He’s essentially said there is no way I’m getting Zious gives it back from McKennon and he worked his way down the boards. But Byron picked that puck up. Here’s Tuck back the other way. Centering pass shot saved by Blackwood. See the faceoff numbers. The ABS dominate in that situation, but the Buffalo Sabres win this. Try to eat that puck with five to go. But it’s send it to the slot. Tip away for Tavs. Turn around shot. Back hand and save by Lucan Nelson. How do you like that for a 21-year-old boy and you look at him, he’s ripping down the wing. He looked a little bit like a right-handed Joe Sack there with that release. Just ripping it by Peruka. Boy, got the center on. He’s tipped a headband. The way that they knock into you and don’t allow you any clean hits, any clean entrances to the offensive zone on the near side in front. Great. Back in also with a long shot saved by Black Dean. Long pass. Marty Nes will burst in. He’s got with him. Jimmy G throws it off the iron. Oh man. Sabres now working hard in the AB zone. Goes through McKinnon. Nas is on the move. Sends it across. Deflected off for McKinnon. He’s got some speed. Shoots. Deflected. Rebound. 15. That missed everything. Taylor Macar’s on his horse down the right wing. Here he comes. McCall to the circle with his shot. Save by Lucan in. And he’ll gobble it up. Brent Burns had his stick checked. Plow shot down deep. Loose puck. Saved by Blackwood at the post. Oh man. Tage Thompson banging away but he made a beautiful blocker save. Here comes McKinnon and he gloves into the zone down the wing. McKinnon wrist shot saved by Lucin and crossed him up and he had to fight it off. Of course the also dealing with out Logan O’ Conor. He’s getting closer to returning. Thompson is in the wister blocker saved by Blackwood man between his legs in stride. McKinnon has ling with him. McKinnon is in. McKinnon is wide. No hook call there. Pumps into the slot. Score. Marty Nis able to rip it from between the circles and the have the 53 lead. Nathan McKinnon gets an assist for a second but it all starts in the diesel. Marty Nes takes it off the wall puts it in start with Nathan McKinnon gets caught on the back check but he stays with it and Marty Nes who starts the play in the Dzone. You see McKinnon battling behind the net. Nas who starts the play in the D zone is the recipient of that pass from Nathan McKinnon. He doesn’t get everything on it but the placement is perfect. High blocker just under the bar up to the point across for Rosen. His shot and he broke his step land by stick to find an empty net. misses patience for the Hattie to land the strike and he scores and that’ll be a goal. But what an unselfish play by Marty Nes on hat-tick watch and he sells it. Both sabers go to Nas but Landis the shot block the broken stick fights through Hold tries to put it in the empty net. Marty Nes he could have taken that forehand the back end. Wasn’t easy. Nonetheless, Marty Nas with two goals and the ABS defeat the Buffalo Sabres by a final score of six to three for Gavin Bridley.

Martin Necas had a huge two-goal, two-point game, Gavin Brindley added a goal and an assist, and the Colorado Avalanche took a 6-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

  1. My takeaways for the Avs
    1. Brindley on the 2nd line didn’t miss a beat, he’s wheeling out there. Get healthy Val!
    2. Can’t play the Sams together, they lack size and net front clearing. Girard played pretty bad.
    3. Blackwood hasn’t looked that good in any of his start and they’ve been easier teams. He needs to do better.
    4. Landeskog is so unlucky. 3 overturned goals already is quite the stat.
    5. Another first minute goal and Nate Dog keeps his streak going. The boys are buzzing. They’re on a heater and don’t have the toughest schedule coming up so hopefully they keep it rolling

  2. AVS been playing good hockey good news they got Girard back and soon to have O Connor still need to get past Dallas with the beat down of Edmonton they proved their a Stanley Cup finalist add a few players at the trade deadline they will be playing the Florida Panthers for the Stanley Cup

  3. what even is petterson.necas looks like proper nhl superstar while petterson looks like ahlr. like why didnt we trade him. why our management in vancouver always garbage.
