I’m sorry, but those 13 who voted against have no actual knowledge of baseball and should probably lose their votes.
I mean this honestly and seriously without hyperbole.
I’m just glad we don’t have to hear about a fucking catcher anymore and pretend like he’s anywhere close to the greatness we witness from April-September every year
Crazy close but at least the right decision was made
It had no business being that close
13 clowns
I will hereby refer to Cal as *almost*.
Am I dumb for thinking that Witt should have cleared Ramirez for third pretty handily?
13 people that never played baseball
13 first place votes for a sub .250 hitter ok

The reality is these awards for truly great players who have won it repeatedly: they generally have to be the clear winner to actually win it again. Writers like to spread it around. You see it in other sports too.
This being so close reflects that. If it ever really does come down to a true coin flip call for Judge or Ohtani, be ready for them to lose.
Tyler Kepner you are fired
Wow the media story for Cal really made this much closer than it should have been. He had Ana amazing season, but Judge’s was all time. Thankfully the end result is all that matters.
Wow that was a lot closed than i thought
Man if only two votes swing Raleigh’s way then we are looking at co-mvps.
was really hoping Jacob Wilson would pull through.
I’m shocked this was even close. Judge ran away with it, Cal really only had him on home runs. Wonder how many more Judge has in him, this should be his ~~third~~ fourth if Altuve didn’t cheat him out of one.
Edited to correct because I am a moron and forgot Judge had two before tonight’s third.
It was essentially unanimous when you take anti-Yankees bias into account.
The right decision made, but that shouldn’t have been close
Lol at Chapman getting an MVP vote, but not any of the 3rd to 5th placer in the Cy Young.
So close and another pin for Judge. Just needs a WS to be on the Mount Rushmore of Yankees

Judge won so I don’t really need to focus on being mad it was unanimous. Cal would have won it in plenty of other years but you can’t deny how great Judge was this year with his 215+ OPS
13 peanut brains
“B-b-but big man with big butt hit a few more HRs with his big stick he MVP”
Fucking laughable how close that was.
Was Cal’s season pretty awesome, for sure, but there’s no way he could even come close to Judge in terms of value. Nice to see Belly get some votes though!
Should not have been nearly that close.
Literally 3 voters swap and judge would have been robbed
Seems likely they give it to Cal if he broke or even tied the HR record
It’s ridiculous the voting was even that close.
Judge was so much better then Cal it’s insulting it was even this close. But we’ll take that 3rd MVP
The anti-yankee bias seeping in is so pathetic. Literally an all time season by one of the best hitters of all time in his prime but because of the team he plays for it ends up being a tight race with a guy with a .247 average and (and we all remember when Judge didn’t win specifically because Altuve beat him in batting average). Just shows why the BWAA shouldn’t be the end-all for season awards much less the HoF.
I’m sorry I don’t care how many home runs a catcher hits or how good his defense is, .242 is unacceptable for an MVP candidate, even less so when there is an MVP candidate like judge the same season
Should’ve been unanimous those 13 voters need to be named and shamed!
what would have happened if two of the Judge voters picked Raleigh instead?
edit: they would both win
What would’ve happened if they each got 15 1st and 15 2nd?
Even the 13 1st place votes for Cal were too much.
There was no comparison…..
More like Yankee hate
Cal Raleighs story must have really resonated with the voters man. Had he broken Judges record he likely would have won because the Yankee bias is real. I’ll give the thanks to the Dodgers b team for not allowing a homer to him in the last series of the season just so no one else has to.
Too fucking close Dumper clearly had narrative in his favor
“A right fielder can’t be as good of a defender as a catcher.” “Right field is the easiest position on the field.”
Meanwhile, Tatis has won 2 Platinum Gloves in right field the last 3 years. Mariners fans are just pathetic.
Honestly, best case outcome. Raleigh had an amazing season and deserved to be in the conversation (just like Witt last year). But Judge had the better year, and he deserved to win. Glad they gave it to him.
Man, it’s pretty incredible what we’ve been able to witness the last few years between he and Ohtani.
The voting should not have been nearly as close as it was between Judge and Raleigh.
