Michael Penix Jr. on Atlanta Falcons performance vs Indianapolis Colts in Berlin | Press Conference

team bounce back at this point. Um, we just got to stay together. We got to stay together. U continue to trust in our our game plan each and every week. And we we just got to execute when it’s needed the most. Does that become more staying together and trusting the game plan become more difficult as the results don’t come? I don’t say it come it become more difficult. It become more frustrating whenever you do have that. And um, you know, it’s tough to win in this league, but we got to figure it out. What made it tough today? We just didn’t execute when we needed to. Defense got a lot of big time stops for us and we didn’t put points on the board. That’s it. But what’s going on in those situational moments? Um, I don’t know. That’s something we got to figure out. We’ll figure out. We watch film, figure it out. Um, but yeah, we got to be better. It start with me. Feel like those those moments where you weren’t able to string the drive together? I don’t know. It’s hard to point at one thing or uh you just got to watch the film and see, you know. Um, I really don’t know. Mike, what was the main thing? Um, we saw everything that we thought we was going to see. We just got to go. Uh, we got to execute. We got to do it. It was awesome. It was a great atmosphere. Um, it was very fun to be able to play over here and, uh, the fans were amazing. So it it it was definitely a great experience and something I won’t forget. Since your first start last year, no quarterback wide receiver. It don’t matter. We got to win. It don’t matter. Are you frustrated with yourself right now? Got to play better. What does that involve? Is that is that accuracy? Is that everything? Everything.

  1. The predictable PLAY CALLING ON OFFENSE OR THE DROPS
Or 3 STARTING O LINE MEN OUT
    dosent help PENIX EITHER

    DEFENSE CANT DO IT ALL

    Special teams allowing BIG RETURNS

    GET SMARTER AND MORE EXPIRENCED
    HC AND OC

    WE HAVE THE TALENT

  2. He’s the only person I’ve seen this year that looks like he cares about winning on this team. This is his first real year of football. In two more seasons he will be one of the best. He just needs time and a better coaching staff.

  3. I love the fire in his eyes after a bad game! He had a bad game but it’s really Zac Robinson who’s inexperienced as a coordinator that puts Penix in bad spots. Penix does needs to learn how to pull down the ball and run sometimes though. Also has to stop panicking under pressure and learn to move in and out the pocket under control so he can deliver an accurate ball when the play is extended.

  4. He needs to go to Tom Brady quarterback camp and learn to toughen the F@*% up! Get in peoples face.. O-Line, WR, TEs; get in their face and hold them accountable Mike. Be the leader on the field and you will not lose the fans.

  5. I don’t feel sorry for Michael “Panic” this a grown man game no excuses. IF you Do your job which means “make the throw“ and SCORE POINTS maybe y’all will stop firing kickers.

  6. Michael Penix takes more ownerships for his struggling, then you guys who constantly want to give him a pass and blame it all on the coaches. You all are so busy to bail him out, that you are not even using your eyes. This man completion rate is below average. The average right now for this season is 65%. He is between 58 to 61%. Bad play calling would not cuz him to have multiple intentional grounding penalties this year. There have been multiple times throughout this season where receivers have been opened and Michael went to the wrong read. Or he would go to the right read and the ball is too high or too low to the ground. But since he is not Matt Ryan it is hard for you all to see. I'm glad to see that he knows he has to play better. And he has admitted so throughout the course of the season. But the fans don't want to hear that. They want to blame everything on the coaching staff and think that once they get fired everything is going to be perfect and the next year we're going to win the super bowl. And that naive mindset and lack of objectivity is why we have a failing team. Because we have a owner that listens to you all way more than he needs to. When you constantly having turnovers on your coaching staff and your front office, you will not have sustainable winning seasons. Point blank period.

  7. Penix, you keep your head up. The team, in my opinion, played a good game against a very good Colts team. Just remember that sometime when you are at the bottom (and the Falcons and the fans have seen the bottom over the years), the only way is to the top. RISE UP!!!

  8. I gets no sympathy… he’s regressing and at the end of the day, he sucks! Bad accuracy, bad situational football, holds on to the ball too long and is indecisive with his reads. He’s suppose ain’t getting better in any of these things

  9. They need to BENCH you MP? You play scaredycat ball! 3 straight intentional grounding plays at critical times, costing us 3 games. The defense kept giving you the ball back, and you go 3 and out. Ugh! We should have scored at least 40 or more points today. Ugh! 😣

  10. As dejected as he looked up there, I’m glad to see that this level of play is unacceptable to somebody. We are tired of the “we’ll find a way” narrative. Mike’s heart is with this team and ours should be with him. Everybody needs to keep showing up for 9. He’s our guy!!

  11. I've heard it mentioned that Mike is more comfortable out of the shotgun – which if true why aren't we running more shotgun, and why are we seemingly limiting our QB1's development by calling majority of plays that aren't from under center? Why are we allowing our QB to make the same mistakes game after game in the same manner as when Ridder was our starter? Why do we keep hiring coaches that have seemingly no awareness when it comes to situational calls as well?

  12. I look at the Falcons franchise as a dirty filter that hasn't been changed in a long time. The coaches that's been through this franchise have failed more often than not.

We the fans are breathing all the toxins that's going through this dirty filter. This is why the fans are the way they are. We need clean air. Because these Falcons are killing us.

  13. Blank only allows 2 seasons of losses before he demands heads to roll and this will be season 2 so changes will be made, first with the OC and if the next season isn't a winning one, then it's off with the coach's head

  14. This bum doesn’t know how to get the ball into bijans hands. If the Falcons want to win games you put the ball in bijan hands and then you pass the ball to london.

  15. Don’t believe this man penix is a liar. When asked what should the international fans expect from the Falcons he said look out for seven yeah look out for seven of the sidelines.

  16. Penix has a very strong arm, but his footwork is the worst in the league, which is causing his passes to fall short and excels. He has always relied on the strength of his arm and never focused on his footwork. If this vital portion of his game is not addressed immediately, his timeline will diminish quickly.

All coaches involved in his development have failed him. Very unfortunate.

  17. Mike has talent. The staff was not rant for him. Has a part in this. But they are breaking him right now. Hopefully help will come soon staff wise and we wont lose him. It’s hard to watch. It’s funny how Zac and raheenm think there needs to be no changes.

  18. Zac Robinson and his QB coach is the problem. They are putting him in bad situations. Why on first down if we don't get any yards on 2nd down he throws the ball down field instead of trying to get something short to get a better 3rd down chance. So we always in 3rd and long and everyone wonders why we can't convert on 3rd down. We are to predictable. COACHING MATTERS!!!!

  19. I feel for this guy. Falcons have broken him and now his career might never be the same. They got a guy thats a deep ball thrower with no one that can get open deep. only one receiver that's drake. Why is drake catching passes and the other guys cannot? This sucks seeing Penix in tears because the offense is this bad. Even Kirk could not do anything with this offense .

  20. I am amazed to see professional players and coaches who lacks the fundamentals. Everyone need advisors, if Raheem Morris had an advisor, he would know to never accept the first ball in overtime, that is basic 101.

If Penix had an advisor, he would know to work on his footwork, in order to extend plays, his inability in his footwork is causing his passes to fall short and sometime excel. Due to his strong arm, which he has always relied on, is causing him major problems now. It's not solely Penix fault, I fault all of the coaches who has had a part of his development. Penix is too stationary in the pocket, his inability to move around in the pocket is the worst in the league. I'm not sure what camp Penix attended, but again, someone has failed him.

The defensive line, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that when you are rushing the QB, you have to always anticipate the QB run, which means get off your block.

When the Colts QB ran for 19 yards on 3rd and 21, the disappointing portion of this dreadful act was, I was not shocked. This is the lack of knowledge, lack of effort and lack of basic understanding that the Falcons have displayed for years.

Some fans point to the coaching staff, which is valid. I point to these grown men, who are supposed to be professional NFL players, regardless of if you do have the worst defensive coordinator, some things are self-explanatory.

Go back and watch the film and tell me what Bates was doing when the Colts QB ran for 19 yards. I am very disappointed in Bates; he makes one play every 5 games. Watch the film.

These players and coaches have been affiliated with football since peewee league and still lacks the basics.
