Which of the Chargers upcoming free agents do you think we should re-sign?

  1. Obviously there are a lot of guys on this list, but it’s interesting to start thinking about who you might bring back. Here’s the guys I’m thinking we bring back:
    – Khalil Mack (assuming he’s not retiring)
    – Teair Tart
    – Zion Johnson
    – Keenan Allen (same as Mack)
    – Odafe Oweh
    – Benjamin St. Juste
    – Da’shawn Hand
    – Josh Harris
    – Hassan Haskins
    – Tucker Fisk

I think there are probably a couple other guys you can make arguments for, but these are the main ones to me. A few guys that I think you could consider bringing back, but are less likely would be:
    – Najee Harris
    – Del’Shawn Phillips
    – Trey Pipkins
    – Denzel Perryman
    – Jamaree Salyer
    – Trevor Penning (if he pans out)

I will also note that he’s not listed on here, but Quentin is up for his fifth year extension next season. I’m very curious how the team handles that.

  2. I think Oweh is a no-brainer at this point. Also probably Tart, Keenan (if hes still down for these team friendly contracts) and Maybe Salyer/Zion as backups?

  3. It’s a bit annoying that we finally have a list of free agency that are worth keeping. I remember a time where I was happy to see them all go. Guess it’s a good problem to have.

  4. Im very interested in how we handle this. Comp picks are going to weigh heavily on their decision making process.

  5. I don’t care about draft / external FA we should keep the guys that are good players. Oweh secured for long term (if not get a comp pick), Tart long term, Zion mid contract, Keenan/Perryman/Mack/Harris all back too. I like Dshawn Hand as well. Build the rest of the roster through the draft

  6. Mack, Pipkins, Tart, Johnson, Allen, Oweh, Perryman, Lance.

Even terrible OL is hard to come by. So even being below average might be good for depth

  7. Tart should be shackled and chained to the facility. Mack and Allen should be brought back assuming they don’t retire. Oweh, St. Juste, Hand, Harris, Haskins and maybe Fisk are the only other ones I’d pound the table for

  8. Bring back Mack, KA, Tart, Josh Harris for sure .. and Perryman … Oweh would be good too.. these are difference makers and the team just plays alot better when they are on the field.

  9. wow this is the most free agents deserving of extensions i’ve seen in a while for the chargers

  10. I’ll be really curious to see if we bring Harris back, even at a reduced price. If they go with three running backs again I would be comfortable with Hampton, Vidal and Haskins if they were all healthy and if they resigned Harris there is no way you are hiding Vidal again on the practice squad. Harris was looking solid when he went down but I really did not see enough of him this year to get a real feel for him.

  11. Mack – yes, hopefully we can convince him to take a team friendly deal to ring chase but either way bring him back

Pipkins/Penning/Salyer – if they look ok the rest of the year and will take swing tackle or back up guard money, I’d bring them back as reliable depth. However, finding a swing tackle in FA wouldn’t be that hard so it’s whatever.

Harris – no. Vidal is a good RB2

Tart – pay him whatever it takes

Zion – I originally would’ve said let him walk but he’s been ok this year and the only decent OGs in FA are either old or AVT who is a right guard

    KA – Same as Mack

    Conklin – no

Oweh – as long as he’s not trying to totally break the bank, definitely bring him back

Perryman – maybe but he’s also really old. I think we go LB on day 2 (along with center) to find a guy to put with Henley and Dye. I’m kind of giving up on Colson.

St Juste – only if he takes a cheaper deal but I’m not opposed

Hand – bring him back. He’s good and his absence was very noticeable.

    Lance – yes

    No to all the rest

  12. Oweh/Tart/Zion/St.Just.

Mack is tough because if we are playing to finally use a first round pick on defense I’m assuming its going to be an edge and if it is I think we would have enough to not necessarily need Mack at his price point.

  13. We have somehow found ourselves in a situation where one of the priority signings is a fucking Long Snapper. But holy hell what an apparent drop-off it was having Lovato.

  14. Mack and Keenan transforms the team. Their leadership cannot be captured by production stats alone.

  15. Mack gotta go, I’m sorry. Almost 20m for a soon to be 35 year old edge? Cmon. We could get a top tier guard for that. He has 9 sacks over the last 27 games and been trying to retire for like 5 years now.
