The Franchise Ep. 5 | Unfiltered Chiefs Access vs. Raiders, Commanders, Bills

It’s your boy Double Lock. We out here in some waters and some peace in summertime. Everybody got to eat. EG, everybody got to eat has become the mantra. EG, everybody got to eat. Breed might have started that way. Just kind of translated to the field. Everybody’s balling out right now. Everybody’s eating. So, everybody got to eat always. I just feel like it’s going to be a feast for baby. Yeah. I mean, like that’s as good as it gets when you try to factor in what’s going to happen in this game. Everybody going to eat. When it comes to in there on the field, it doesn’t matter. Tight end, running back, wide receiver, 1, 2, 3, four. Everybody’s going to eat. More eyes go on somebody else. I mean, everybody I feel like everybody in this offense can make a play. I mean, how do teams stop us? This team’s too loaded. They know if they get open, I’m going to throw them the football. It’s a good problem to have to have that many talented guys in the room. When it comes to the kingdom, there’s a tailgate. You can stop by anyone. You going to eat. We all going to get healthy and fat. Folks guys, I guess you’re using the phrase everybody’s got to eat. You heard that one going around and say they don’t worry about that with me. Come on. Division game, man. Division game. Come on. End the division, baby. In their division. It’s one thing about this game, bro. Respect ain’t given. It’s earned. And look, division game. Division game at the crib. What What other better opportunity than this, man? No kickoffs, man. Let’s go. Let’s go out here. Dominate and fly around at a high level, dog. Let’s do it. Let’s do it, dog. Let’s go. LB’s on two. One, two, my first game back, so it’s a little more personal. It’s been a minute since I’ve been even an arrowhead. I think he’s everything that Mahomes always wanted as a wide receiver. Now you see Rashid Rice coming to this offense after being out this season for, you know, mistakes off the field. Sometimes you got to be knocked down a few pegs to get back up and really understand what your value really is. And he’s a valuable piece to this offense. All right. You know what it is, man. We had to handle business. We had to play for each other. Another opportunity, another day. We get to start today. We get a show done today. Let’s do it. Fail. 312. EG yeah, this is going to be a really, really fun year because we’ve got all the pieces. Now, right after we prayed um and went out to the locker room, I just kind of put the towel over my head, had a couple tears drop down my eyes, and then I was last to walk out the locker room. Uh I just kind of I just got a crazy feeling. I was just squeezing my shoulder pads, just had my head down the whole time. When I finally got to run out the tunnel, I didn’t even rush through the tunnel. I just took my time coming through just looking at the stands. It was exciting. You knew this offense was going to click. It was already clicking with Worthy and Guju and Thornton and all these guys who were really being a valuable piece. How are they going to incorporate it? EG. Everybody’s going to eat one play at a time. Dominate. Let’s go. Let’s go. Somewhat in the first drive. We we do our first 15 plays. I got quick quick passes and trying to get the ball in my hand. Kelsey and Rice, Hollywood Brown all on the field at the same time. There’s a pass. Once I got tackled for the first time and I started hearing chirping from the defense and I just start smiling. Hey, we about to take it up a notch. About to take it up. On first and 20, Mahomes steps up on the run and look who’s wide open. It’s Kelsey. Noah Gray. He caught a a wheel route going up the field. And it’s Noah Gray, the backup tight end with another big pass play. I want to say I ran two plays back to back. Caught a screen. It didn’t work too well, but then they made me go in uh a double motion. And they bring him back around and they toss it to him. It’s Rice cutting through and he’s in the end zone for a touchdown. Bringing the energy to the offense like that’s really all that mattered at that moment. We supposed to beat that, bro. That ball just clearing everything for me. I don’t want that. We about to take it up. Showing rhythm on that first drive. Down the middle. And he’s got him. Hollywood for the touchdown. Take it up. Take it up. Take it up. the one behind you today. I might get another one today. I’m go get I’m telling you right now, y’all. I’m passing you today. I might catch over George today. I know I’m passing and sacks today. I’m telling you now. I’m going get another one. Go outside. First and 10 at the 5 yd line. It’s hold on the rebound. We were on the what three or four yardd line. I didn’t look at Pat after we went out to the huddle. I kind of felt like the ball was going to come to me. Big play right here. Got first and goal. Looks left, Rose left, and it is caught by Rice for his second touchdown of the game. I couldn’t find nobody in in the front row wearing a number four jersey, so I had to find a kid to give the ball to. Hey, too easy, dog. Too easy. And when you have all the weapons out there, Jim, you can find your best matchup. Hey, you done? No. Hell no. Not until we done with that Super Bowl. Right now, it’s just systematic and certainly is. They look good. Let’s see what Gino and company. They go out of the gun and they hand it off to Genty to close out the half. Gent’s fourth carry for 18 yds in the half. A total of 51 yds of offense. That’s it. 14 total plays. Over to Rice. Rice with his seventh catch. Yeah. He was like, “Uh, how you feeling?” I was like, “I’m feeling good. Like, I’m fresh right now. I feel fresh.” He’s like, “Uh, I’m going start pulling you back a little bit.” And I just kind of gave him a look like like, “Coach, like I I haven’t played in so long. You can keep me in the game the rest of the game with the second or third string quarterback. Like, I just want to play today.” And roll out with it. Cross the body. Look out. caught somehow. That’s worthy. It was a jump ball and whatever it is, it’s showtime in Kansas City right now. Go races. It’s a touchdown for the moment by Pacheco. Wow. The beast water party. Hey. Hey. Eat the Big Mac. Eat the big man for sex. I get the one to him today. I’ve been giving away. I ain’t tripping. So today, right now, division game, it’s my time. I think I’m I think I’m going to have one more today. This is my time. It was real fun. It felt great to win a rivalry game and I’m just looking forward to every other game because I think it’s going to be fun like that every time we’re out there on the field together. Hey, where four at? Where four at, bro? Hey, family on three. 1 2 3. My dad grew grew up playing golf. So, he kind of passed it down to my brother and I and my sister a little bit too. Our whole family really, all my cousins and uncles, too. But yeah, playing golf with my brother and my dad is my favorite thing to do pretty much when we’re back home. It’s be out in the elements and just playing golf and you just don’t really think about what’s going on outside of that. Just for those 4 hours or however long you’re playing, that’s really what I use it for. It’s like just go have fun and whether you play well or play terrible, it doesn’t really matter. It’s like you’re one degree off on a drive that’s like 20 yards left or right. If you’re playing offens your steps a couple inches the wrong direction or in the wrong spot, it could put you in a bad position. So yeah, it’s very detail oriented. Whether you’re on the practice squad or the backup interior guy or backup tackle, everyone’s preparing the same way. We’re all one unit and that’s how we treat it. So, it allows guys like anybody to be ready, whether you’re the last guy or the first guy on the roster. We’ve always looked at Mike as a starter. I think all the guys do, coaches do. Everybody’s got confidence that when he comes in, you just pick up and go. Having coach Reed say that instills confidence in me for sure. Even though I’m not one of the first five coming out of training camp, knowing that he has the confidence in me to be able to step in at any point and fill in that role, whoever, whatever role it is, it’s huge. Especially playing offensive line, confidence, just like golf, is a huge part of the mental game. no matter what happened, the play before or the shot before, it’s like you can’t really control that anymore. So, you got to move on to the next one and try to if it’s in the golf course, get back in play. And then football, it’s you have a bad play, the next one you you can’t string two backto-back plays together. So, you got to find a way to forget about the one before. It’s similar in that respect, for sure. It’s happening. It’s Halloween. Spooky stuff can happen. Trap game, look ahead game, whatever else you want to fit that narrative. But you can’t play scary. There’s always, I think, two or three of those games a year for any team in the NFL where you think like, okay, we should win. In this league, there’s not a team on our schedule or anybody’s schedule that you can’t get beat by. Sunday night football in this stadium, there are very few things better in our country. The long seven from their own 35. Mahomes in the pocket. Big push by the commander front. Here comes pressure and Mahomes will be spun to the ground at the 32. You know, you can say you don’t look ahead, you don’t have trap games, but how much tape do you want to put out there against a team that does have a backup quarterback. Good projection. The pass is picked off by Latimore. Third down at the 11 of Kansas City. Ariota being pressured to his right. Holding it now. Floss a pass. Near side man open. And the pass is going to be incomplete. Early on the field of an incomplete pass is under further review. He’s got it. That that looks like a touchdown. Troy, I agree with you. Looks like he has control with both feet down. I think it’s a catch in a 77 game as the Commanders, losers of two in a row, have come in ready to play here tonight. Yeah, some missed opportunities. I think you could say the same thing for Kansas City, but Washington has to feel good about it. When they get in these situations, you know they’re going to get out of it. I don’t believe in trap games with this team and I know they don’t allow that because of how much discipline this team has. Hey, it’s about time. Hey, it’s about time. First and 10 Chiefs at the Commander 47. 77 tie. Momes off play action looking right now turning left. Comes back right now. Dumps it. He’s got a man wide open at the 40. The Commanders at the 30, at the 20. A checkdown throw. It’s Travis Kelce all the way down to the Commander. 10 yd line on a checkdown throw. Mahomes out to his right. Back across for the touchdown to Hunts. I’m going find a way. The second half was just outstanding against Washington. It was automatic. It was so fun. Hey, right back at it. Same mentality. Keeping the feet alive. sings it late for the end zone. It’s caught and Travis Kelce with the catch. We out there, man. Next one. Next one, baby. Next one. We’re on to the next one already. And so many skilled position players that the Chiefs can just kind of throw out there constantly, one after another after another. Big hand off to Pacheco. Here comes pressure. Mahomes wheeling around trying to get away from trouble. Does and throws it. Lady’s got a man open. It’s Noah Gray. The blue. Here is Worthy going to turn on the Jets. He’s got Jets and out of bounds with a Kansas City first down. Holmes in the pocket pump faking twice. Throws it late. Caught left side. Rice angling. Touchdown Kansas City. Three straight touchdowns and three drives in the second half. Moving to the right side is Mariota just missing. Gelani just missed and it’s intercepted. It appears there’s a pickoff. Fourth win in five games. The Kansas City Chiefs are 5 and3. This game ends with Kansas City beating the Washington Commanders 28-7. That’s right, baby. It’s Thursday. We are closer and closer to the inevitable, the annual Super Bowl at Orchard Park. That’s right. This is a game that I honestly think that when you look at it, it’s at 3:25 on Sunday. It’s Mahomes versus Allen, but it’s more so like city vers, right? Like it’s more so like everyone knows they have the same mentality that we have. And you can ask people around town, you can ask your friends, we talked about it yesterday, how do you see this game getting played out? I don’t know. And also the thing with this game that I think is so special for a lot of people and and for the players really involved is that they elevate their game in this in this one as well. Okay, you’re going to do that. I’m going to show you that I can do it better. And it’s almost like you take the the playbooks and you just throw them out the window and it comes down to, you know, let’s go one-on-one. Allen versus Mahomes. Who’s going to make the biggest play and who’s going to lead their team at the end? It’s a rivalry for sure. The rivalry that we have established with the Bills has been one that I think everyone looks forward to. It’s almost like they’re another division opponent if they’re on our schedule. During the regular season, we often times assume we’re going to play them in the playoffs, too. So, you can count on playing them twice a year. When you have the two best quarterbacks in the game, this is the game of the year. As good as the Raider rivalry is, as fun as the Bronco rivalry is, none of them mean quite as much as this game does. The first time they play and Josh Allen’s getting in a fight at midfield and then the 13-second game where everybody just goes, did I just witness that? And then you finally go on the road and it ends with Patrick Mahomes getting snowalled by the fans at Orchard Park and you’re like, we got to him. not to the team, but also to the fans. And now here we go again. Another mid-season matchup. And I can tell you all the stuff that I watched, I planned for, but it doesn’t mean anything. When this game starts, I don’t know anything. It’s a chess match mentally as much as it is physically. You always have to try to be one step ahead because they have great players and great scheme and great coaching staff. And so, you got to be on your agame. epic, fun, crazy, wild stuff you’ve never seen before. And what more could you want on a Sunday afternoon? These two teams are intertwined. They’re very connected. Uh, and they’ve been the most consistent teams in the AFC over the last 7 to 8 years. It’s almost like every time they play, you might see something new, you might see something exciting, and you know the game is going to still be not in hand by the fourth quarter. Someone’s going to have to make a play to beat the other team. Welcome back to Highark Stadium, Orchard Park, New York. The Chiefs now down by 15 and they’ll have the ball to start this drive at their own 34. We got a lot. They got to get back to getting yards in chunks. Mitch, the successes of this offense have come vertically. They got to get some big gains. Last minute and a half of the third quarter. Kansas City’s going to try to mount a furious comeback. Down 15. Three by one of the Chiefs with eligible receivers. Left side boundary throw. Hollywood Brown with the catch at the left boundary on the Chiefs sideline. A perfectly thrown ball by Patrick Mahomes. The toughness being displayed by 15. The Chiefs need a big fourth quarter here against this Buffalo defense. Now Momes in trouble. Sack back at the 42 yd line. Not everybody in the world would you think about going for something on fourth and 17 except if you got Patrick Mahomes and he’s the one guy that could probably figure out how to do it better than anyone. Let’s go Pat. Fourth and 17 Chiefs at the Buffalo 40 momes spinning back around looking way down the field. Going to need a big one here. There it is to my quarter on fourth and 17. The Chiefs get 30 to Rashi Rice. Hey, sit down. We going to have to go in. Sit down. Hey everybody, sit down. Get y’all in. We going to have to go in and make a big stop. Fourth down for the Chiefs and less than a yard at the Buffalo one and a half. You know, they’ve already converted on fourth and 17. Now they just need a yard. They got to have it. Holmes is under center. Sends Rice in motion to hand it off. Kareem Hunt. Easy touchdown. The left side blows it open. Saw enough of an opening. A little crease. Didn’t need much. And look, he’s going for two. Andy Kong for two to get it to a one game. Smith now goes. They try to flood the right. They throw it a yard deep for the two-point conversion. Kelsey’s got it. The Chiefs are within seven points at 1132 to go in the game. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. It’s a feed off energy game every game. We better get it back. We better get it back. And I say this on the air and again I’m not advocating to this but it’s like a cigarette game man. Like after you’re done you’re going you know the Ben Affleac photo right where he’s outside the pub and he’s just so stressed out because you don’t know what’s going to happen. Come on D. We need a big stop right here. D you’re going to get the best that the Chiefs have right now. They know how to show up and they’re going to bring it right now. Spags in this defense. You got to come up with something good if you’re Buffalo. Now seeing the lead trim to seven in the most improbable way. Howard takes him out and takes off and slides for six. Second and 10. And look at that tackle. That was McDuffy. That was one way to bring him down. Bolton was in the area and a loss of four. Third and 13 they say at the Kansas City 48 to throw is Josh Allen scrambling still trying to get a free and he’s sacked back at the 46 yd line by Leo Chenel the most underrated player on this team and sacks Josh Allen for a loss of seven. The Chiefs are down 2821 and have the ball. Here we go, Jim. Here we go. Deep ball in the double coverage. And it’s picked up. Picked off by Haristston, the rookie. Buffalo will beat Kansas City for the fifth time in the last six regular season games. We’ve had great moments. We’ve had bad moments. We got to be more consistent as a team. I got to be more consistent at a quarterback. Um, and we got to be able to battle. I mean, we’ve we’ve kind of been in a lot of these these tight close games in in our history, but they’re not going our way now. So, how can we deal with that adversity? How can we be better and learn from it? I mean, you only learn from so many losses. That’s a good football team. They’re coached very well. They play extremely hard. And they did a great job today. You got to learn from it fast. And it’s going to be an uphill battle when we get back. But I think our guys are up to

  1. Am I the only one not trippin about mid season KC losing to BUF.. we almost always take an L until it's playoff time.. then we just go ham haha. HBTC ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป

  2. Love this series, been watching since season 1. Even during tough times itโ€™s so well done. Iโ€™m glad you get comments from the radio guys of 96.5, Dusty Likens, Carrington. Always love Nate Taylor and Pete Sweeney. Iโ€™m glad you leave out the cringy 810 crew like Serin Petro.

  3. "Everybody Gonna' Exit" the playoff hunt if someone doesn't step up and make plays when it matters.
El Travador, Jones, Mahomes, Worthy, Rice, Thornton, Hunt? Who's it going to be? Who wants it? Who's responsibility is it to win?

  4. A while back there was a Backstreet Boys song which was credited on the video. Why don't you credit the music this time? I much prefer this music to the Backstreet Boys but I'm not finding info anywhere. Credit all the music and musicians, please! Can anyone help me out and identify the music at 3:48 and at 6:458:45 for me? Thx.

  5. The chiefs will be fine. I've seen Tom Brady the 5 and 7 this time of year and go on and win the Super Bowl on a Wild card spot. I would like to do better than wild card. But I am not worried about my Kansas City Chiefs. I've been a chiefs fan when the chiefs shouldn't have had any fans.

  6. Kids learn in Pop Warner football that you have to have a balanced attack. If you're never willing to commit to the run game, how can you have a balance attack? If the other team doesn't respect the run game, then everything else goes out the window.

  7. Patrick has to be protected in the pocket! Heโ€™s having to scramble way too many times. Heโ€™s going to end up getting really hurt one of these games.

  8. What's not good is when Miami takes the Bills down but we cant…that's an issue. Cant afford to lose much more if they want to make the post season. Lots of teams have caught up to what the Chiefs are doing.
