I’m about to say something very unpopular.
I don’t think we should fire Pete Carroll.
I don’t think we should fire Chip Kelly.
I don’t think we should cut Geno Smith.
There, I said it.
Do I think these guys will lead us to the Super Bowl? Hail No.
Do I think these guys will lead us to the playoffs? Not next year.
But to expect anyone to turn this Titanic around in one year was not realistic, even if I thought it was.
These guys entered a football war zone — a roster devoid of talent and an offensive line that can’t block.
Let me be clear, everyone deserves blame for us not being a .500 team right now, but there’s no way anybody should’ve thought we’d be better than that.
And that includes me and my blindfolded hopes.
Has Geno been worse than I expected?
Absolutely.
Did I think Chip would reinvent football? Probably.
Does it feel like we hired an old man instead of a seasoned veteran? Yep.
But all three of these guys walked into our building with a ton of winning experience and they haven’t forgotten it all in six months.
I’ve heard a bunch of chatter that begins with FIRE EVERYONE…. and I totally get it.
But that’s a big part of the reason why we are where we are.
A Starbucks couldn’t succeed having the type of turnover we’ve had.
Gruden.
Mayock.
Bisaccia
McZiegler.
AP.
Telesco.
Carroll.
Spytek.
And that’s all in the last five years.
Priority number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 is to fix the offensive line this off-season, not to do another coaching search.
If we suck THIS bad next year — after another draft in the top 10, and with plenty of cap space — everybody should go.
Pete, Chip, Geno, maybe even the Raiderettes.
But not now.
Not yet.

We’re 👏🏻not 👏🏻here 👏🏻because 👏🏻they’ve 👏🏻fired 👏🏻bad 👏🏻coaches 👏🏻we’re 👏🏻here 👏🏻because 👏🏻they 👏🏻make 👏🏻bad 👏🏻hires 👏🏻
Las Vegas Seahawks are going nowhere. Need to build our own culture, not build off another franchises used garbage
I dont think they should fire Pete, but I’d fire Chip Kelly into the fucking sun

Lol
That should of happened this past draft
Instead, ol Pete drafted a RB at 6 like it’s 1990 and the picks after Jeanty have shown Pete could care less about drafting guys that will play as a bunch of old Seahawks have gotten playing time instead
He also wasted a 3rd pick on Geno and gave him a contract extension lol and he topped off QB moves by wasting a 5th rd pick to get Pickett, a QB he won’t play even while the starter is leading the league in int’s
Hiring Pete at his age after 4 wins was just a shit hire in a line of shit hires this stupid franchise has made
We can’t keep firing coaches after one year. The last time we had a coach that lasted longer than 3 years was Art shell from 1989 to 1994. We’ve had 14 since 2002. It’s ridiculous. We need consistency. Pete is a good coach so I have no idea what’s going. Either way, I’m sick of the bullshit.
Anyone calling for us to clean house is just mad about the W/L this year. Constant turnover is killing this team and there is no one clear direction we are going because we have a mix of Grunden, McDaniel’s and AP players on this team
What does it matter if we clean house now or in 1 or 2 years when Pete retires anyway. Just saying, if hes not the guy move on now and give yourself a chance at building some form of consistency. Idk shit just groundhog day being a raiders fan the last 20 years.
Preach brother you go the gist of it.
I’ve made no call for Pete to be fired, but I have to question your reason as to why that shouldn’t happen. You point to fixing the OL as being the top five priorities, but Pete has shown a complete inability to do that in about the last decade. And now he has hired his son to coach the OL unit, a position he’s never held in the NFL.
So we have an inexperienced position coach, the son of the HC you want to keep, who has shown thus far to be an absolute disaster at his role. Along with his aging dad at the helm, who has not had a good OL unit in forever. Realistically, if you want to fix the OL it starts with getting competent coaching.
I just don’t see how you fix the OL, making it the top five priorities as you say, and keep the abysmal staff leading them.
How do you all think Pete is doing right now? Do you think he’s making decisions based on performance, ability and/or production? Or do you think he’s making decisions based on loyalty and/or ego? It seems to me like comPETE is just a catchy slogan and not something that’s actually earns playing time. I don’t know what the answer is, I’m tired of the “just be patient” crowd for the last 25 years. I also don’t think firing the head coach every other year is the answer. I was told “adults are in the room” with this new regime but they seem to be acting like children and favoring “their” guys even when it’s obvious “their” guys suck. I just wish we could have a turn around like the Seahawks, colts, patriots, etc some day.
I’m with you for the most part. Our roster isn’t that talented outside of like 3-5 players. There are positions and position groups that are starters for us that might not even be backups on most playoff teams. The reason our roster is in such a dire straight is because we’ve had like 5 or 6 GMs in the last decade and an equal amount of Head Coaches and interim HC. We need more than ever continuity of scheme and FO, so we can build a roster designed to do something vs what we have now which is a mismatch of players that would thrive in different schemes than the one we are trying to implement.
We’ve seen some good play from some of our FA acquisitions, but I am certain guys like Adams, White, Cappa, etc. aren’t ideal players to play in the schemes Chip, PG, and Carroll want to run – they are band aid solutions, and our roster is filled with these.
It takes time to rebuild a roster, and the organization has lacked patience (rightfully so when it came to McDumbass and AP), but when we actually have people in the building that have proven to be successful, lets give them time to accomplish their vision instead of cutting them at the knees before they even got through the first turn… The only unfortunate part about this is that we hired Pete as the HC, and because of that he will need to be replaced either way in 2 years, but hopefully by then an internal candidate will be an obvious successor.
If the new upper management and coaching staff took a look at this team and thought they could compete that’s a big red flag to how they assess talent. And IF they truly thought they wouldn’t compete that’s also head scratching to use draft capital and a big contract on Geno. They drafted a running back with a very high 1st round pick knowing the line was trash? Or did they think it was good enough? Again, if they thought it was good enough they can’t scout. If they didn’t well that’s head scratching they drafted a WR round 2 and didn’t go harder in FA to address it. Seems more like the same ole same to me in Raider land. Trying to bring back the glory with retreads instead of a breath of fresh new air from the modern NFL.
Give him 3 seasons before we judge it.
Keep Pete. We need some consistency. We cannot be a carousel.
It’s not unpopular. For once, we need to keep the train going. Our resemblance of build was during Gruden 2.0 and even that regime had resemblance of progress.
Caroll is trash.
This sub is full of delusion. They act like our team won’t be significantly better with an improved QB and Oline. We have one of the highest potential RBs and best TE in the league. You generally don’t win games if the run game doesn’t work. No fancy offensive schemes will fix bad talent. We are a total of 7 points away from 5-4, the same record as the chiefs. Give them a year and see how things go then we can call to burn it all down and try again.
The seahawks are MASSIVELY improved without pete carroll. Lets hire pete carroll! Dogshit decision to hire him. He wont even be around when the rebuild is done so why the fuck hire him to begin with. Baffling decisions
Look the Raiders are in disarray as an organization
Its just a business with no seriousness on putting a competitive team on the field ….they as an organization have lost their way ,their heart and soul was left back in Oakland , The Las Vegas Raiders are a faint shadow of the Raiders of old ……
The Franchise might be of more monetary valuable
They might have a State of the Art Stadium but they have no Pride ,no fight ,no leave it all on the field culture its just come sunday ill get my paycheck approach from the Organization from top to bottom…..
Oakland Forever !!!!!
People entertaining the idea of firing Pete are the problem fans
Folks just post things since the nation can be riled up with minimal provocation.
Completely agree. Fire any of the staff and once again you’re making the players start from scratch learning a new system etc. And it’s going to set us back. It’s the same thing that’s happened over and over and over. This coaching staff has a lot of exp like you said. I believe they can turn out around. 3 years imo
