Why Asante Samuel Jr. Is The PERFECT CB2 For The Pittsburgh Steelers #shorts

So for me guys, I think that this is a big time get for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s just not very often that you add a player of this caliber, a legitimately good number two starting outside corner at this point in the year. And frankly, with the miss that they have had uh in free agency with Darius Slay this year, I mean, this is a godsend because this is the type of player that this defense desperately needs because Slay has really struggled all throughout the 2025 season for this defense. Now, my scouting report on Asante Samuel Jr. is that, you know, he’s not a perfect player, but what he does, he does at a really high level. He’s he’s got great playmaking and especially zone instincts, that those intermediate zones, all that different stuff. He’s not the best man coverage corner. He’s not the best cover corner in the world. And he can be very aggressive. He’s been known as somebody that you can bait into, you know, uh giving up big plays on double moves. Um, you know, he’s somebody that, especially if you play a lot of zone, he can be a very uh a very good uh number two corner.

I was looking at the Broncos breakdown when they were looking at him to replace Callahan's spot several years ago and every bullet was excellent until you got down to man-to-man and it then it said when he is proactive, so this means when his mind is focused in the right area of his coverage he does well. So this is probably something he may be better at once he has some coaching time in with the Steelers. Everything else is top notch according to what I read on the Broncos page when he was first brought in from university. He played 23 games out of 32, and they really had a lot of good to say about him. College started dating him when he was in eighth grade. I called the honeymoon or dating, because that's what it is. Universities are always hunting with that magic for their sports teams. I think Asante Samuel the second is looking to get out from under his dad shadow still, so I know he will want to play for the Steelers because the Steelers take a lot of pride in our defense, and he is an addition for us at this stage of the season. He might be the guy that brings us that interception touchdown we need on games like last this last Sunday. Just one play like that changes the psychology of the whole team. my God I expect offensive coaches to work in some new plays for our offense! I'm tired of that self-defeating bullshot I'm seeing on the offense. I want to see more of what we did against the Vikings and Ireland. We need to be running that ball more. Our quarterback is trying to hold onto the ball and control it when he needs to give it to the runners or do more short passes, but we were doing better when we were actually just running it up the hole.😅

  13. It doesn't matter what players come to the Steelers you have to first have a coach to coach and put them in position to make play …that's Michael P Tomlin defense and aways has, the man done ran his coarse with that franchise.

  18. I think this is huge because it completes our defense. It also is frustrating because we could have completed our offense by trading for a WR. Now our best hope is to sign OBJ

  21. He’ll be on IR after his 1st start! What are we talking about here?…why did we not make a trade deadline move for ANY younger players on defense or a better o line???? Steelers are so dead it’s crazy
