  1. Kronke has won and has competitive teams in every sport. The Colorado Avalanche, The Denver Nuggets, LA Rams, And the Arsenal. His ownership would probably be great for the team

  2. This would be awesome actually. An owner who wants to compete and someone who can stick it to the freeloading Dean Spanos.

  3. Sports radio is mostly just rage bait. I don’t why anyone could listen to this garbage for hours.

  4. Anybody who wants to ante up and kick in whatever $$$ is needed to slay the tax Dodgers is fine with me.

  5. I’d rather have Saudi princes who dont give a fuck about money own the Padres than Kroenke.

  6. Kronke already has business brewing in San Diego, taking over the Sports Arena redevelopment project.

  7. Lets be clear, Kronke has the money rolling out of his ass we get it but he also has the Spanos blood in him. Didn’t he also move a team from their city to LA? We gotta becareful what we wish for

  8. What a time to be alive, contemplating which multi billionaire will buy the team full of multi millionaires.

  9. I’ve got it all figured out. We have to do like the Packers, where the people own the team. The team is worth about 2.5 billion. There are around 3 million people in SD County. That’s $833.00 per person. Why can’t we do this? Seriously.

  10. Rams, Avalanche, Arsenal, and Nuggets have all spent big and been very successful lately. He’s an owner who also knows how to delegate to people smarter than him. He’s not perfect – he’s done some scummy things over the years. But he’d be a decent owner for the Padres.

  11. Could do worse. I don’t like any the teams he owns, but only the Rams have moved (if you want to argue, you could say they went back to where they belong-I know full well his involvement in both moves.) Not my ideal candidate, but there are worse owners. Plus, I really kind of enjoy the idea of Spanos’ landlord being our owner.

  12. Several of the teams he owns have won championships under his ownership. He also tried to buy the Dodgers before so we know he wants in on an MLB team and has significant investments in San Diego.

    We could do worse?

  13. The pro is that every Big 4 team he owns has won a championship this decade

The con is that he also relocated a beloved team, twice. Even though there isn’t any reason to move the Padres, it’s still hard to support someone who is pro relocation.

  14. I wonder if Joe Tsai is interested. He lives in San Diego, owns the Seals and the Nets, and is worth plenty enough to buy the team.

  15. If I remember correctly, the Rams went on tour with the Lombard Trophy and added San Diego as a stop. Ever since the NFL orchestrated the shotgun wedding between the Rams and Chargers in LA, Kroenke has gone out of his way to crap on the Chargers and their owner. Bringing San Diego their first Championship will be a nice addition.

  16. Kroenke would be great for the Padres. The Rams are firing on all cylinders and all of his other teams are good too.
