NHL Highlights | Canucks vs. Hurricanes – November 14, 2025

in Tampa and in Sunrise against the Lightning and the Panthers. We’re underway with Shawn Walker shooting the puck in the bank. Chopped the other way by Tyler Myers down into the Carolina and Walker swings it around and it’s out to center ice onto the stick of Jordan Stall. Dishes across Shane Johnson with a shot off the swinger link and then Sherwood dunk it off the line. Keeper Sherwood saved a goal. Hurricanes bring it right back. Stanov a nice move. He’s got a lane. He shoots. Stopped by Lank and the cleared to the corner as Logan Stankov would have had that chance. Coming in off the right side now. Another shot is off the body of Drew O’ Connor and wide on the goal. Fast start for the Hurricanes. Game still scoreless. So Connor thought he might have been away to the races there, but the puck didn’t go with him. And now it’s dumped ahead and over the Carolina blue line. Stay open back into Vancouver zone. Checked by Tom. Matt Sone sends the puck in towards Lenus Carlson. There you see McKenzie Mcker tripped up and in is Cone to the net. He scores. Max Cone on the first shot of the game for the Canucks. And at 245 of the opening period, he has his fourth of the year to make it one- nothing Vancouver. Saon is able to help out. And as McKenzie Mckan gets tied up with the defenseman, Gossair goes down. Cone comes wheeling in. We’ve seen him shoot from distance before to beat goalenders and he does so against Coachov and this building got quiet in a hurry. And the puck to the line poked forward by Sherwood. Canucks on a change and Tyler Meyers jumps onto the ice and collects the puck feeding it back. Normally you feel when you Oh, there’s a turnover. Meers gave it away to Jarvis. Here’s Aaho in front and they score. Spetchnikov on the one-time after Tyler Meyers had his pass knocked out of the air to get open but not Carolina. They come right after you. So this uh pass gets knocked out of the air and then Special is going to get open at the top of the slot. Sneak this past Meyers and Lanken fanning out getting that blade down on the one. Here’s Seth Jarvis in the Vancouver zone. Now the puck back to Jarvis cutting in front of the shot. Lank it in the safe. So in a 1-1 game, Carolina goes to the power play at 509 and an early chance and a goal. Took five seconds off the face off. The timing of getting the stick through the puck after the face off is lost. He’s going to just back away and he is ready to shoot. Lankin is over. Not in time. And this pass goes right past two outstretched sticks for the Canucks and Carolina has turned the game in their favor. Two goals in 54 seconds. Both of them belong on the penalty kill as well. So an eventful beginning to this game. We’re not yet 6 minutes in. Three goal score. Canucks got the first one. Kane’s the next two. Now Vancouver’s in front. Coet, pardon me, is one of these more rambunctious goalenders. That’s a tricky play between the legs. Catch up to it and hopefully find a hole upstairs just off the side steps of Czech of Elias Py. Basser picks up the puck and he brings it through center for Vancouver. Dumps one to the goender. Penet will hang on to that puck and there’ll be a face off and Carolina controls again. Dawson sphere to Wheelers across one-time blocked by De Brusso trying to get it on goal. He didn’t want to backhand it out and just kind of skated himself into trouble deeper in his own end. Here’s a turnover and they score. Elias Person with a short-handed goal as he stole the puck and rifled it past Coachov. Icing on the cake right here. This is a drop pass that Person reads gathers and puts it over a stunned coach. Walker was trying to set up the breakout. Stank open was too far behind him and in that gap. EP40 puts it upstairs. Jackson Blake who finished ninth in Calder trophy bowling last year. Long shot stick like the rebound despair. couldn’t make contact out of midair. Hurricanes have the puck in their own zone as we move into the final minute of the first period. Healers gain center shoots a long one in on Lankin and who steers the puck to the corner as the Conucks try to navigate their latest injury and that is to their captain Quinn Hughes who left the game against Winnipeg the other night. We chronicled it off the top of the show. came back, played 28 minutes against the Jets, but shot deflected to the corner. Andre Fetchnikov has both Carolina goals in this game. Here’s a long shot from the line. Rebound link and diving to his right. Once they get it back to the point, it’s direct to the front of the net. This one deflects and comes to Keandre Miller. AO trying to get away from Elias Patterson. AO puts one to the middle. Knocked to the blue line. Shot by Riley is stopped by Lankin. And then he that was Atu Ratu who’s back on his feet and now takes a pass from Drew O’ Conor. Ratu in over the Carolina blue line with a wrist shot swallowed up by Kachka. Corona slap shot deflected missed the net that broke the stick of the Carolina player. That’s Keandre Miller having to defend without a stick. Canucks will try to take advantage. Besser across. They score. Connor Garland across the body. One-time set up by Brock Besser. And Garland on the power play has given the Conucks a 3-2 lead. And Miller after this puck knocks his stick in two. He doesn’t want to chase too far. He’s trying to block a pass. It never comes cuz Besser looks one way and then puts it all the way across the rails there to Garland is you round behind the back of a goal. Tease one up. Ao stop by Lank. Big save there. Here’s defending at the front of the net. the one-time. It bounces around. Hall’s trying to find it. Eers keeps the puck in the Vancouver zone. Carlson battling for it with Walker down in the blue line. Here’s Eers behind the net. Tease it up. Gust bear. Oh, what a save by Lincoln. Acrobatic stop with the glove and he hangs on to stop play and 86 mph. Aers right into the wheelhouse there of Gosses Bear around keep guys fresh for what’s been a frantic game at times. We’ve chronicled the absence of Seth Jarvis who was injured in the first period by a high stick. He’s Oh, now Kane gets hit at center and knocked down by as he was challenging Ke Miller to a fight. Miller heads to the bench. Kane being escorted to the bench as play goes on and a chance for Gostas where he centers and they score. Taylor Hall three chasing and it’s going to be coming up with this puck. Eventually they’re going to move it across the front of the ice to Taylor Hall right in front of the goalender. Loss of coverage below the bottom of the circles there and Paul off the near glass gets it past Tyler Meyers. Mark tried to move in. Falling down was Marcus Patterson. Mark cuts in front. Backhander stopped by Lincoln. Mark ahead for Aaho. And breaking that up was Myers. Back come the Canucks. Here’s Lenus Carlson cutting in. Stopped by Kachkov. health issue, but he’s left, which could be somewhat prominent because even with Queen Hughes in the lineup, he tends to start overtime. Yeah. And that’s where we’re headed because 60 minutes have elapsed. And it’s Garland and Patterson out to start along with Marcus Patterson on defense. No Hughes, no Heronic. And Stall out there along with Gostaspar and Walker. So two defenseman for the Hurricanes. You don’t see 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Here’s Cone with speed in onostas. Feeds back. Kane shoots. Stopped by Pachenkov. And the rebound comes to be under conduct changing again. Elias Patterson’s back up. Nikolai Elers. Jackson Blake shoots. Stop. Rebound. He couldn’t get on the back end. Gust bear. Stopped by Len and sliding to his left. Eers tries to back people off and then the shot from Blake almost lands right for him with a backhand shovel. Instead, he moves it to Gossair who’s been all over this hockey game. And Lanken and watch him reset. Faceoff win for the Hurricanes. AOS spins off the boards. He scores. OT win this one four to three. Well, he’s done it before against Vancouver in overtime. Spins away and then has a lane and he’s trying to use Garland as a screen and just wants to elevate it up over the blocker side and really snaps this one. Carolina played catchup in this game. got ahead and then take it in over on overtime.

Andrei Svechnikov buried a pair of goals and added an assist, while Sebastian Aho chipped in a two-point performance including the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Carolina Hurricanes over the Vancouver Canucks 4-3.

  1. Canucks got dominated and if it wasn't for Lankinen they wouldn't have gotten a point. With that being said though one of the worst officiated games I've seen in a while. Canes players were just allowed to trip, hook, crosscheck, and elbow the Canucks players all game long. Also that Myers and Marcus Pettersson pairing needs to never happen ever again.

Wow, they scored on a faceoff play that Ehlers won even though he was late on the draw [faceoff], and at that moment I had a feeling that CAR would win the SC finals, because they've been growing their own drafted players for a while now. Is this a sign that CAR will be the 2026 SC champs?

This might be another sign though to tell us that I was wrong on the 1st impression. Walker made a mistake, so either they win the SC in 2026 or they will be 'walkers' [passengers]. It's the same VAN Canuck who made the mistake on the faceoff earlier who now repaired his mistake with a goal. So all in or not for CAR?🤣

  4. When Demko first started with this club, he was always out of position. He came so far out of the net, was WAY off to the side, it seemed like he never knew where to be. That changed, and he's gotten to be a great goaltender. Lankinen is doing the exact same stuff Demko used to. This boy is ALWAYS out of position, he comes way too far out and throws himself side to side with reckless abandon, sliding outside the net every time. Here's hoping the coaching staff can get him up to snuff, and quickly, with Demko always being hurt; we need a better goaltender or we're out before it begins.

  5. Косатки должны сказать огромное спасибо защите Каролины, если бы не 2 глупые потери, игра была бы мегаскучной.

  6. The Canucks played like they had a piano tied to their ass. They were outskated outplayed, and that makes me wonder which players have money on the game. If it wasn't for the goalie, it would've been 25 nothing it's an embarrassment. And there is four penalties, but the refs didn't call that they should've called the ref sucked
