There was no announcement about it beforehand, just a delightful complete surprise for the first 5,000 people through the door. I don't know if they timed it with the Wedgie extension or did it because he's topping the league in wins, but whatever the reason, I love that the team is celebrating him!

Also, I love that it’s so obviously Wedgewood – they even got the curls at the nape of his neck and the swoop on top. The only thing they got wrong was the eye color – those are baby blues, not black, sir!

I just love hearing him talk. So intelligent and doesn’t use a lot of filler words (like, um, you know, etc.) like other atheletes. Granted, hockey players seem to be a higher caliber of human being than other sports, but Wedge seems to have it all. Hope he goes broadcast after he wins a few cups for the Avs 🙂
