Full statement: “I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families. The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies.

“Since arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC Football program has not waivered. We have tremendous support from the university, our alumni, and the entire Carolina community. My focus remains solely on continuing to improve this team, develop our players, and build a program that makes Tar Heel fans proud.

“We're on to Wake Forest.”

  1. Bro is going to be lucky to still be coaching by the end of the season at this rate let’s be honest

  2. He would 100000% would jump at the opportunity. He just doesn’t have that opportunity so is saying he wouldn’t take it. He’d be 3-6 as the falcons coach if all went as planned for him

  3. Thank you for your service to the Giants. Your defense was a huge part of my childhood and fanhood. I wouldn’t bleed blue without you. Stay the hell away from my team.

  4. He’s in the first year of his college redemption tour with what, four and a half years left on contract? Plus, he has trademarks and patents and plans with his media-savvy companion by his side. Who has the time for the NFL?

  5. I get the vibe that one way or another he heard it was unlikely the Giants would be interested and got out ahead of it with this statement

Let’s be real, he’d 10000% have loved to get hired here

  6. Billy B leading the giants to a dub over the drake maye patriots in the superbowl woulda been a banger timeline

  7. Don’t want him unless he leaves the girl at home. Dont need that nonsense in the NY media 24/7

  8. What coach has ever said they will pursue a different job while currently coaching a team.

  9. I think bill should pack it in with coaching, he’s one of the all time greats. I’m not saying the giants should do this but I wonder if he would consider being a GM somewhere.

  10. This sounds like a means of saving face because they didn’t even offer him the job

  11. I mean, I’d welcome him back if he just wanted to be the defensive coordinator again for a year or two and then retire 🤷‍♂️

  12. The man is getting fired at the end of the year. I doubt there will be any offers for him to return.

  13. Can we please get a young, progressive mind in the seat.

Dabol was the ultimate conservative, populist pick. Feet on the table during meetings, act like you’re just one of the bros, don’t give a shit outside game day and don’t care that you are the coach of the NY fucking Giants. He’d be better served with a gig on the Pat Mcaffee show.

I saw so much entitlement with Daboll in those interviews with college players. Fuck that. Let’s get someone who isn’t a nepotism hire from some coaching tree in the NFL. Let’s grab someone who’s scratched and clawed their way into the college ball and has some acumen for the game.

  14. Him making this statement while still having a job is weird as hell, regardless I don’t think the giants were considering him. McCarthy is probably one of thier top considerations

  15. This was ALWAYS how this was going to be.

There was no world where he legit tried for the job.

  16. Bill Belichick would make our defense elite on the one hand, on the other hand, I have my doubts about who he would choose to be his Offensive Coordinator, since McDaniels is employed. Besides, you would need a GM with a lot of support to deal with a guy the size of BB

  17. Not that I want him to be the next HC, but why would he say anything different. Would you expect him to say “yes, I’m into it. I’d be open to the move”. Especially as a college coach. Just wouldn’t put any stock into shit like this until the next HC is hired

  18. We need coaching experience but also youth, creativity, energy, hunger to win and the ability of to connect with our upcoming stars. Belichick and McCarthy are not it. Think Jeff Hafley, DC from Green Bay. He was a winning coach at Boston College and now runs one of the best defenses in the league. He will be a head coach next season.

  19. Now can someone find the one most responsible for this heinous rumor and have him tarred and whipped post haste
