  1. I really wonder what the story with Matthews’ injury is. Something so bothersome it affects him this much, but not bad enough to be able to play?

  2. Uuugh. I’m in Chicago and Matthews is my 7-year-old’s favorite player. I spent a f&@king truckload on surprise tickets for his birthday when the Leafs are in town this weekend. Fml.

  3. The only problem with Matthews is that they traded his set up man. Marner did all the heavy lifting and fed him the puck. It was almost a cheat code for Matthews the chemistry he had with Marner. Now that he is gone he has to change his play style ie: do some dirty work and not just float and be fed.

  4. Honestly I thought he was returning to his prior form. Even through some of the awful games this season I thought he was playing harder, playing defensively, playing with more grit…but he’s just not built for the physicality of the league. Sucks, but it is what it is.

  5. What does injured reserve retroactive mean? Is it supposed to mean that he wasn’t on injury reserve on the actual date of November 11th, but they put him on IR a few days later and claim it was from an injury on the 11th? Can some1 please explain?

  6. Remember when people thought he could break Ovi’s record? Maybe if he plays 25+ seasons. Pretty sure he has already missed more games in his career than Ovi.
