Warsofsky Shows Sass, Talks Celebrini’s Leadership | Sharks @ Kraken Post-Game (11.5.25)
So, coach, we talked about this team’s defense. How were you guys able to open the game up so much for you here tonight? Well, our penalty kill was really good tonight. Uh, so that helps. Um, you know, I thought we were I thought our game got better as the game went on. Uh, thought our first was was actually probably just okay. I thought we were a little light on battles. There was some, you know, details in our game that needed to be cleaned up and it got better as went on. Another thing you often talked about was John Clinger on the power play about his shot. Yeah. Is everyone okay? That’s a good example. Is everyone okay? Yeah. Thank you. And um um one of the thing was um especially in the in the third period because at that point it’s still anybody’s game, two goal game. What allowed those two three quick goals to really put the game away like that? Yeah, you know, every time you can put the puck in the back of the net, it’s, you know, obviously it’s uh part of the game and you got to score to, you know, to win. So, obviously Toe gets comes out of the box. We got to, you know, it doesn’t happen very often. So, um, you know, Smitty’s early or I think maybe Mack tips it. Um, you know, we’re getting inside playing on the inside of the ice more I think has been the most probably the biggest thing going into the season that we’ve talked about is playing in the offensive zone with a different structure that we had last year, but on top of that to play in the inside and we’ve done a good job of that graph there on the short end. Yeah. Yeah. And he stuck stuck with it. Delhi follows it up. It’s a big goal. Um, I thought graph was a lot better tonight. couple of first period when the game was still in the balance and uh a scarov’s goal anyhow down and also a Cardwell’s goal too. Yeah, Asie was really good tonight. Made some really big saves. But I think you watch him, he just looks really calm and confident in the net and that’s um you know even there’s no you just see it. You just see it on easy shots, hard difficult shots on that penalty kills in the third period. Made some big saves tonight. Cards was good again. Gives us some good fresh legs. Uh he obviously has pace to his game which helps us. So uh you know I’m happy he got on the board. Feel like I’m obviously you guys don’t want to take six penalties. No we we’ve mentioned just the changes. You starting to see those changes and how much have you seen the PK switch momentum and give it back to you guys after taking Yeah, I think it’s important right and I think at one you know I think it’s 4-1 they get they get a power play and that’s the one we need to kill and we did a good job that all night you know we make even 51 we kill the next one. Um, listen, it’s not going to be, you know, no penalt there’s going to be penalties. We got to make sure we clean it up. But, um, what I just like, we just, you know, got to the next one. They went got to, we had a mindset of we’re going to kill it off. You watch Mlin celebrating play every day. Are you still amazed at the things he can do on the ice? Um, for this young of an age, probably he’s uh he’s obviously a special. We’ve we’ve talked about it since the day he got here, what he does, the way he competes. Yes, he gets on the score sheet, but it’s the other things to me that are so impressive. Um the way he competes on faceoffs, the way he competes defensively, the way he tracks, the way he’s a 200 foot center, uh is absolutely remarkable. He’s a great human being. He’s a leader. We’re so lucky and fortunate to have him. John Clintberg called him the engine of the team. But how much does that engine rub off on other young guys like a Cardwell or Will Smith or even a guy like Michael Misa who’s watching from afar? How much can that rub off on those guys? Yeah, he drags guys into the fight. You know, that’s what um great teams have. of those guys. Uh so, you know, we’re not there yet, but we’re getting there and he’s a big part of it. Clingberg also mentioned that he’s an engine in the locker room, too. So, how does he do that as a 19-year-old? Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, he’s a natural leader. You know, I think when he he can speak up. Uh he’s played a lot of hockey in, you know, a short period of time, but he knows what it looks like and what it should look like. And, um he’s a winner. He wants to win. He’s competitive. He wants his guys to get going. and um you know he’s got he’s got no uh fear in him, you know, and I think guys see that. Ty Dentra also seems like playing with a renewed confidence this season. Could you just talk about Tai’s season? Yeah, he’s been since training camp. You know, he’s really came in and and been on a mission to not only be in our lineup, but find a role for himself. And he’s done a really good job on our penalty kill faceoffs. You know, we’ve moved him to the wing, we can move him to the center, we can move him up, you know, we can put him on the fourth line. um he can kind of play all sorts of positions and he’s really bought into that. You guys have played a lot of hockey in a short period of time here. Have you noticed a maturity of off ice, rest, recovery, things like that that you know you were seeing, but it’s just fine-tuned this year that’s led to a good stretch here with a lot of hockey? Yeah, I think u obviously have a we have some older guys that we obviously added this summer and and that’s something we talked about the condensed schedule. We got to make sure we’re um you know just because maybe I want to practice it may not be the best thing for the team. Um, so we’re starting to understand, you know, even morning skates, we got to we got to skate and we got to get a few things done cuz just practice time is really limited. And then with Michael Misa, do you you know, obviously we knew it was a lower body. Do you know what happened and and any update you can give us there? Yeah, it happened in morning skate, but we’ll we’ll evaluate when we get back to San Jose. Does this win make you happy in the sense of it’s a complete win like every quadrant, PK, power play, goending, offense, just everything was working tonight? Yeah. Um, yeah. I don’t know if happy. Yeah, maybe I’m happy. Anything to complain about tonight? Um, no. There’s obviously things we as a coach, you just keep pushing the team and we want to get better in areas, but for sure our penalty kill took a big step in the right direction. We score in the power play. Special teams, you you can win your hockey games. We saw that tonight. Our goalending’s been a lot better here recently. Uh, we’re starting to find guys in roles. You know, when me goes down, we play 11 and seven. Unexpected, but we just kept going. We just kept playing. And, uh, it is what it is. And I think the mindset of our team uh has really grown here lately and that’s been the biggest positive. Thank you. Thanks, coach.

Hey Sheng,
Man…I have to say the speed with which this team is responding to Coach Wars and his staff is making me rethink what is possible for this team. I am trying not to over react given how small a sample size this is and there is a long way to go but, it just seems like the team is coalescing around Coach's ideas and starting to collectively hit their stride. It's not like it was early where on the better nights we had a handful of guys playing very well to alright. Now it's like we are hitting on all cylinders.
I am still counting good periods stacked but, it's getting close to talking about good games stacked. Really, really exceeding expectations so far man.
Go Sharks!

warso haters are quiet now
Not going to say it’s snapping into place because we are the sharks and something always will go wrong, but, Warso criticism can take about 5 steps back.
If this pace continues through November, Grier needs to start considering serious moves
How’d we finally get someone who is not a pwssy as coach. McLean and deboer were beautiful but they’re teams were soft it took us blowing a 3-0 lead on the kings for the dawg to come out and we went to the cup, small things like the tissue box as the celly in the locker room that is passed around is him showing the theatrics are fun but hes here to win.
SOOO GLAD WE HAVE WARSO AS COACH!!! even without Eklund and Misa we score BIG! Imagine this team next year with its offensive with Misa in full swing and Eklund in full elite mode. Asky is an elite goalie, and our defense have had an amazing 2 weeks. LETS GO!
Man can't decide which foot to stand on.
Anyone know how many kids Warso has left?
This guy should be on the bench in Milan
