Sometimes I forget how young Mike Macdonald is in his career. Before he took this job, he had NEVER been a Head Coach at any level of football. In year 1, he turned this defense totally around and brought it back to relevancy again. He did this while helping us win 10 games which is the most we’ve gotten since 2020! And going into year 2 , he seems to just have more confidence and better control of this team and how he wants it to look. Every time I hear him talk, it’s always about improving and “chasing edges” and I just know this guy will do whatever it takes to win and outwork other coaches around the league.He fixed the LB issue mid-season last year and paid big dividends. He also knew Grubb was a mistake and seems like he hit the Klimt kubiak hire out of the park.In a division with two offensive geniuses we had to counter, and we brought in the madman of defense. Future is bright in Seattle.

I knew he would be a strong defensive minded coach. What has impressed me the most is vet buy-in. Having 100% vet attendance for optional off-season work is impressive. He clearly has the respect of the players and it is showing on the field.

Having been with Pete so long, I’m not used to having another coach but the process and results speak for themselves. We moved on at the perfect time, and watching the defence downright murder the opposition is such a joy. Like many fans, I can’t shake the anxiety no matter how big the lead due to PTSD from the Pete era. Maybe I’ll unlearn it after a few seasons.
Can’t believe he’s so young too. Would love to see what goes in their internal meetings and how they scheme the defence each week. MM always has that knowing smile during interviews, like he knows the game plan, but can’t reveal it. Love it!
