Padres SELLING despite former Owner’s wishes #mlb #baseball #sandiego

Before his passing, Peter Sidler said he wanted to have the team in the Sidler family’s hands for generations to come. But here they are about two years removed from his passing and they are moving on from the team. Now maybe they might remain as some type of partial owner of the club. Maybe not majority owner of the team. I don’t know what the sales circumstances are going to be, but it is interesting. That’s something Peter wanted for the family and now maybe they have just reached the decision they’re not into this. They can’t handle this. It was Peter’s thing. It was not it’s not everybody else’s thing. More thoughts on that later to come. But I thought that was interesting that they’re not doing maybe what Peter had hoped for prior to his passing.

  1. As a dodgers fan RIP to Bro. Thank you for trying to make the Padres great and trying harder than almost every single owner in the league you deserved better

  2. Imagine one of those grandkids knowing their grandpa owned the Padres and he wanted to keep it in the family but they sold out. Sucks but money talks.

  3. It was reported that Peter Seidler was going to vote NO for the A’s move to Vegas and that he even had enough owners that were going to vote with him for the NO move but he passed away before the vote and that’s where Manfred used his power to have the owners vote yes
This is why I would consider being a Padres fan if the A’s eventually do make it to Vegas

  4. Only way this last wish is legally binding is for it to be included in the will. If it's not in the will then the family can do whatever they want with the team.
