Bowen Byram. Jordan Greenway, Tage Thompson Score In Buffalo Sabres Loss To Colorado Avalanche

[Applause] And why would there be with the way they’ve gotten off to a hot start? Savers trying the same leads the Avalanche with 39 hits. Number 20 for the home side. Pass goes out of the reach of everybody and Devonte will play it to the corner. Quick pass up the middle. An early breakaway. Chance for Nous up top and he scores. They scored early in their last game against Nanahigh. They’ve done it again here to lead one- nothing. Nes’s goal and the only one of the game so far. His 11th of the year from Macar and Tavage. Tavage was down there causing some problems below the goal line to help that shot develop. Avalanche work out of their own end patiently as Molinsky fires it up. Right side on the entry. Long shot. Rebound scores. Line makes the first save. Not the second one. And Colorado goes up by a score of two nothing in the net. Mloud looking for a lane to get some speed and move this team up ice pass to center and now chipped down below the goal line in the Avalanche zone. Thompson is after it. Puck comes around the near side. Timmons racing over trying to knife that one behind the net. Molinsky, taps that one up, but at the blue line it’s kept in. Tuck holds it. Walks takes the shot towards the net. Moose puck still free in front. Scores. Sabres are on the board as it’s Byron. right there for Buffalo along with Power who has his man in the corner. Strong play by Owen Power there and that allows Greenway to get on the puck and then flip it up near center. Gerard steps up. Now Molinsky for the Avalanche. Quick pass inside the zone, scores right in front. Ross Court lets it go and then Nelson finishes it and the Avalanche get the two goal lead back. It is three to one painting. Rock Nelson will chase it down deep in Buffalo territory, but Samson gets a good angle on it before it’s Greenway playing it ahead to Dome. Open ice for power. The far point feeds it in for Greenway scores. Nice feed and a great finish around the far boards. Here comes Byum. Can’t keep it in and a race to get possession. And Quinn does a good job of that. Quickly dishes ahead to Tage. He’ll fire it around far corner. Payton Krebs is on it. Leaves it. He’s hot rosean far circle for Thompson. One timer scores. Tase Thompson. Unloads the TNT on the power play. Rays that one outside the line. Bryson stepping up. Puts it right back in, but Burns is there halfway down the wall. Colorado up the right side. They’re going to gain the line here with a shot. Looping it. Look at that one as Gavin Brinley came down the right wing. Conor Timonss and that forces the play deep in the avalanche zone far side. Nous little touch pass. This is where the avalanche counter using their speed looking for lean in. Pass never got across there from McKinnon. McKinnon behind the net center in front and they score. They just don’t stop and it’s Nas who get to the line. for the last man standing back at the blue line. Oh, and then a broken stick play at the blue line for the Sabres. Is Rosan and an empty Landisk. He puts it wide. They look for him again and he won’t miss that one. We’re just going to let this game tick away. As Razer said, it kind of slipped away from Buffalo. They put up a battle tonight against the best in the league, but the best had just a little bit too much at the opening of the night.
