The thing is the offense will need to play from ahead to help out the defense as much as possible, otherwise teams are just going to run the ball, drain clock, and score points, and most games will at best be like the Texans game.
If the defense plays like they did last week, it doesn’t matter if we have Josh Allen and Justin Jefferson.
Offense will be improved, but offense wasn’t really the problem.
A lot is riding on Purdy’s toe, and the next few games are theoretically easier.
We need to score ~24 ppg and we win those, get to bye week without Purdy amputating his foot somehow, and then after we need to be fucking rolling and average 30 ppg.
The D will need to figure out how to pressure by weeks 15-18.
Offense complements D. If the O is on the field with long, sustained drives, it means the D is less tired. If the O scores on most drives, it forces the other team’s O to be one-dimensional (passing), and THAT also helps the D, because now they can blitz and rush the passer more, and not worry about the run game.
So, YES, every time our O gets better, it helps the D.
I’ve seen some pretty weak Ds win Superbowls. The O carried them. The Ds were punchy and youthful (like ours), but by no means top 15.
I think Mac could’ve taken us all the way if the defense was there tbh.
Just win
My prediction is Mac to Tennessee for a 2nd.
Wow, you guys sure don’t have a lot of respect for Purdy. He’s QB1. Of course he will make a difference.
Can they play LB?
The defense has to step up.
Look at last years Lions. That team was capable of scoring like 40 points a game but they’d give up like 30+ because of injury.
Eventually you run into a team that won’t allow 40 points, but you’re not capable of stopping them from scoring 30+. Not sure we have the personnel necessary to compete defensively, but we’re gonna see in these next few games what these dudes can do.
Mac was doin pretty good imo…Can he play defense?
Brock is wearing titanium inside the shoe to keep his toe from flexing so if it flexes it can reinjure oh boy
Who knows. Brock been out so long that there’s a chance he’s rusty tomorrow. Hope not but i wouldn’t be surprised if he was.
