Budda Baker Halloween Press Conference – 10.31.25 | AZ Cardinals

How y’all doing today? This your favorite holiday? You know, this in Christmas, you know, Thanksgiving as well. Like to be with the fam. You know, I’ve got the girls going to be dressed up tonight. Do a little trickor treat. I won’t be in this, you know. I I wore it one time. Got it from Amazon. Scared my little one-year-old. So, yeah. I can’t wear it at the house. So, I can only wear it at work. Well, you’re not going to wear Monday either, are you? No. No. Only on Halloween. Hopefully I play like what I look like, but you know, anybody else in the locker room that you’re competing with for best costume? Uh, you know, a couple guys here and there, but I think I’m the best one. What’s been their reaction to to you walking around the facility with that? Oh, I’ve been scaring people all all morning, you know. Um, they’ll be looking this way, then I’ll just have my head right next to their ear and then as soon as they turn, I’m right there and they get Oh. So, it’s been fun. Always good to, you know, celebrate Halloween and, you know, holidays when they’re on on work days. You guys ask the questions, you know, I’ll answer them whatever you need. All right. So, speaking of disguises, uh what do you what are you thinking against uh Dak Prescott in that uh that offense? Yeah, Dak Prescott really good offense, really great offense. You got, you know, their two receivers that they love to throw to as well as their their tight end who’s doing a great job. I think he has the most receptions in the league and uh just a very high potent offense. Can throw the ball deep balls, intermediate, screen game. Um everything’s starts with stopping the run game, you know. So, you stop the run game, get them to throw the ball, which they like to do, and uh you know, just just play our game from there. Is the uh did the bye-week come at a good time now that you are past it and kind of see what the week has been? Yeah, bye-week was a great re reset, you know, um guys were able to do whatever they wanted to do, but you know, we’re back to work this week. Very excited. Play a nationally televised game on Monday night. Only game on TV. gonna be a very excited uh you know moment and uh we’re just going to take it one day at a time live in the present. You know, we had a great practice today and uh you know, continue to correct the details and be able to execute and on Monday show everyone what we have based on the film study, you know, the deep dive during the by-week and both, you know, JG and Nick Ross talked about that. There’s one or two takeaways you think the defense should try and implement going forward. The most important, I mean, we start with, you know, we started every day, motor and violence. That motor has to be there throughout the whole, you know, course of a game and the violence and uh just being able to take the ball away. You know, that’s the number one thing with us is uh starts with motor and violence. Motor getting to the ball all 11 to the ball and causing turnovers, getting more opportunities for our offense to score. So, we got to be able to execute whether that’s the first quarter or the fourth quarter. Just continue to live in the present, take one play at a time and uh play a full game. What have you seen from Garrett Williams get back on the practice field? Yeah. Um, you know, haven’t seen him miss a step. You know, he was still in the meetings, still, you know, keeping his mind fresh on football when he when he was out. Um, if he comes back this week, very excited to see him play, you know, if he comes back next week, same thing. So, he’s a great great quarterback, great nickel, great safety. You know, we have him play everything. So, definitely excited to uh possibly get G back. What about seeing a guy like BJ get back on the practice field? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Like you said, seeing him back, uh, it looks great. Seeing that number nine on the field, uh, rushing the quarterback, getting back there, it’s definitely, uh, awesome to see him come back, um, from that torn ACL. And, uh, very excited, uh, to see him back on the field. Same with Walt. Can you tell much on Walt yet or do you need to see a game? I mean, do do you sort of have a sense of what he could be? Oh, yeah. Most definitely. I have a I have a big sense on what he could be. You know, he’s a guy who can uh cause a lot of havoc on the Dline. Very explosive, smart Dlineman. And uh if he plays, very excited to have him back. But just seeing him on the practice field, seeing the explosiveness, seeing the burst, you know, he we got a great we got a great deal.
