I’ll always be a Canucks fan. It’s for life. Whether they have 1 win or 82. Doesn’t matter to me.
Huh? Why was this season the special “fall in love with the Canucks again” season?
Aaaaaand I just noticed that was a tweet from last year. I don’t use that nazi site.
Going on 40 yrs for me.
This tweet is from the 2024 playoffs, why are you posting this now?? It doesn’t even make sense right now
I’d rather spend my limited free time supporting something that respects my time and money. Canucks do neither of that.
Life is short, don’t spend time supporting something that doesn’t care about you.
You would have to be insane to think you could fall in love with this team once training camp ended.
Not gona lie, I’ve been a loyal fan since Bure but losing Quinn is going to put my fandom to the test.
A Cup run is magical even if you lose. Those are stories for life.
The issue isn’t the people lost LOVE for the team, they lost HOPE.
This is only partially correct. The win/loss record isn’t always everything. This team just has so many questions about the direction the franchise is heading. If Quinn was locked up and the “core” was still producing at former rates, or the younger players were stepping up more and the team was still losing, there would still be hope and things wouldn’t seem as bleak.
There is no free agent available or hockey trade that will fix this season, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do something to restore hope. Move a few guys on expiring contracts for futures, maybe see if someone is willing to take a player with slight term that frees up cap space. Perhaps try to cash in and sell high on Sherwood.
Show people a vision and act on it. Hope will be restored even if the wins don’t come this season.
It doesn’t have to be a full tank or fire sale. Hell, showing a commitment to getting better long term might even convince Quinn to hang around even if this season keeps going poorly
I’ll always be a fan, but my level of apathy is through the roof.
I understand that this tweet is from last year. But you have to give the fans something to cheer for. San Jose, for example. Are they a playoff team this year? Probably not. But you see the growth. You see what the plan is. With Vancouver. There’s no plan. There’s no direction. Fans here want a plan. They want some sort of direction. They want a winning team. Not whatever they are doing right now.
Team yes, but the management and ownership? Nah.
I still love this team. What bothers me isn’t losing, it’s a lack of direction.
I’ll always be a Canucks fan, but sports is supposed to be fun and entertaining. It is not serving that purpose at all right now. Worst of all, you can see it is the same for the players. It is work. I already have a job, thank you.
That was a fun year, but I’ve been a fan since the 90s, and I’m kind of over it at this point. Maybe I’ll get back into it, but I haven’t even watched a game yet this season. Aside from Hughes, the roster doesn’t interest me, and I’m not really invested enough to spend a season watching a .500 hockey team. I don’t see a path forward for anything great.
Honestly, I never thought I would say this, because I used to be the biggest fan, and look forward to every game all day, but I just kind of feel done at this point…..
Honestly, these last couple years have made me fall as much OUT of love with the team as I have ever been.
Don’t get me wrong. I will always be a fan. But between the team being bad, the terrible management, the drama between players forcing trades, the coach leaving, the multiple defensive coaches in a row, peteys falloff, the Hughes leaving drama, the signing Kane drama, the Demko injuries and subsequent resigning, the rising prices , the refusal to rebuild, the “ran out of time”, the “miscommunications”.
I want to love them so badly. But God they make it hard lately.
It’s hard to love something that doesn’t love you back.
Honestly the Whitecaps and Rise are more fun to watch lately than Canucks games.
I will always love this team but we are not winning with our lack of direction and Aqua being the owner.
We will all be dead before we ever see a cup here btw
I actually just don’t like this team tbh
I’ve been a die hard fan for more than 20 years and I’ve never cared about the team less than I do right now. If you aren’t selling wins, you need to be selling hope and the team is content to do neither. Mortgaging the future for a “chance” at getting bounced in the first round is not doing it for me.
Not me man I hate this fucking team. I just don’t have enough self control to check out
Honestly, I’m a die-hard Canucks fan and I know I always will be. I don’t care how ugly the losses get or how chaotic things feel, I could never cheer for another team. 2011 shattered me, and even after that I kept watching… until 2013 when it all just hurt too much and I stepped away.
Then in 2023 something shifted. That team pulled me right back in like no time had passed. They literally reignited everything I used to feel. And honestly, I’m mad at myself for missing those 10 years. I wasn’t there when Boeser, Demko, Hughes, or Petey got drafted. I didn’t even know what the fanbase went through when Horvat got traded. I had to learn about all of that way later. I basically had to re-learn the whole team from scratch and go back and watch old clips and draft moments just to catch up.
But I’m fully locked in now. Older, a bit tougher, and a lot more aware of how much this team actually means to me. Maybe I “shouldn’t” call myself a die-hard because I disappeared for a decade, but honestly? I feel like one now more than ever.
Go Canucks go 💙💚
I love this team, which is why I get upset at how they’re being managed.
Might be the most boring arena in the league. Regular season games, you can go in that place and have a nap. It’s just a business meeting throughout the whole place, with hockey fans sprinkled in.
