Giannis Antetokounmpo Postgame Press Conference | 11.15.25
Doc kind of kept it simple after this one. Just said second night of a back to back after a game like last night, we just didn’t have it, you know, legs, whatever. I mean, just did it feel like that, you know, particularly 32 point first half, 3, four point first half. Uh, yeah, that’s about it. You know, like, uh, I think anybody that plays in the NBA knows that um, back to back is part of the of the game. It’s part of the NBA season. You got to get ready for that. um got to prep mentally for uh the load over the back to back or you got to like exercise in the off season so able to play back to back. So it’s not an excuse. Um was was the Lakers on the back to back too. So yeah, that’s not an excuse. We we didn’t play but play better. Try not to make excuses as a as an athlete, as a human being. I think they played better than us. We were up 30 and a half and a half. Score 32 or 34 points right at halftime. That’s not good. That’s not good enough. That’s on pace to score 64 points in the whole game. Um obviously shots that we usually make, they didn’t go in, but that cannot um dictate our our defense. Like at the end of the day, if the shot go in, if the shot doesn’t go in, you got to be able to still play hard, still put your, you know, your body on the line, still able to rebound the ball, um, and sometimes the shot’s not going to go in, you got to, you know, drive the ball, get in the paint, try to make something happen. So, yeah. Um, maybe was was tired, maybe. Yes, I don’t know. But, um, they were tired too. They played the back to back. So, and they had the flight, right? Did they play back to back in Milwaukee last night? No. Right. So, they had the flight, so they probably were more tired than than us. So, that’s not that’s not an excuse. Um, I believe your three as a team, your three worst field goal percentage nights are all on back to backs and three back to backs you’ve had thus far. Do you have any ideas how you guys can maybe compete better on these nights now that it’s kind of happened a couple times this year? Uh, you said you said Phil field goal percentage. Three words in that in here. Yeah. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what it is. I think u back to back’s about will and yeah, will grit, you know, being able to, you know, come in and uh even if you’re tired to play the right way, move the ball, knock down the shots. If they’re not falling, do something else. You know, I don’t know how you can get it better than just basically get get in shape. Obviously, we’ve played six game in six games. I think five games in eight nights or six games in eight nights. So, obviously, it’s going to be one of those days. But, um, you’re telling me three times has been in the back to back. So, there’s got to be something that that I’m missing or the team is missing. So, we we got to be better. Got to be better executing. We got to be able to knock down shots. Got to be able to create open shots so we feel more comfortable to knock them down. Yeah. I don’t know. As as we move on forward, we’ll try to figure it out. You’ve um from the very beginning have talked about bouncing back and um not losing two in a row. You guys have done that, but some of the guys last night mentioned it’s been win, loss, win, loss. Haven’t yet strung it together. I know it was maybe tougher after a night like tonight, but Miles said it’s it’s coming. We’re kind of due to rattle off three, four wins. It feels close. Do do you feel that at all that that even though it hasn’t happened yet, that type of thing, you know, winning, stacking wins? I do feel it. I do feel it. Yeah, I always I’m optimistic. Always try to play the win. So, yeah, we have a lot of games in front of us. We have 68 more games. So, my mindset is try to win as many as possible. Um, if that’s going to be us winning two in a row, three in a row, 10 in a row, doesn’t really matter to me. I just want to keep on figure out the ways to win. Um, I agree with you that we win one, lose one, win one, lose one. Um, just got to be more consistent. Find a way to be more consistent and find a way to not be complacent like when we have a good game to come in here and being humble and figure out a way to watch film and see what we can do better. You know, I feel sometimes when we have good games, feel good about ourselves and then we might come here and just drop the ball a little bit. I think that’s what we did tonight. Um, drop the ball a little bit, man. Like we have to figure out ways like when we are in in a high be humble enough to understand that we have 60 more eight games to go. We got to keep on competing. We got to keep on learning. We got to keep on watching film. See what we did well when we won the game. How can we improve? How can we improve our spacing? How can we keep on creating open threes? How can we defend better? How can we be early in our defensive spots? Like there’s so many aspect in the game that you can keep on getting better. And I feel like that’s what we are missing like the humble and victory kind of mindset like you know when we when we lose we are humble and then we go out there and we play to win like we don’t want to lose two in a row that we we talk about like but that shows also like when we win we’re not humble enough to understand we got to keep on improving and go to the next game and be hungry to win that game. Um that’s two nights now that you guys have a new starting lineup who’s in there. Uh the first night 29 points for him. Tonight I think zero by the end of the night. Um just him specifically it felt like last night it was downhill attacking. Tonight felt like Luga was kind of daring him to shoot threes. How do you try to help him through getting comfortable with the starting lineup and I guess the team as a whole getting comfortable with a new guy in the starting lineup after you know 11 games of it? I think we got to help him be comfortable. Obviously, he’s our teammate. We got to make the game easier for him, but he’s been he’s been a starter most of his career with Washington. He was a starter last year. I think yesterday had the incredible game. Um, today I think the two two three first shot that he shot did not did not fall. And not just it did not fall. They were like in and out. And I feel like it’s sometimes when you have shots like that, it might be like might drain your confidence a little bit, you know, once you see the ball going in and all of a sudden it’s out of the end. So just got to stay aggressive, keep on doing what he’s doing, keep on cutting, keep on attacking, keep on getting downhill. Um, keep on knocking down open shots, defending. I think Kuzman is one of the true professionals in our team coming off the bench, does not complain, does not whine, plays hard every single night. There’s going to be days that he’s going to score 30. There’s going to be days that he’s going to win the game for us like Dallas. Uh, and there’s going to be games that he’s going to have a bad night and it’s part of it. But he’s always true professional. He’s always ready to play and that’s what you got to take from him. Late in the third and early in the fourth, Luca hits him some big threes. Reeves hit a few few tough threes. How tough is it to deal with teams who have that elite shot like tough shot making where you you get to contest you kind of do what you want to do but they just still make it anyway. You got to live with it. You got to live with it. I didn’t take I think two step backs had two dribble pull up three from the top of the key three possession. they were like good defenses and at the end they got to tip the hat and said that’s that’s great plays and um as you said they very very talented that’s what they do um both of them averaged 28 plus points so you got to expect them to make tough shots but um again all those position they were good defense there wasn’t no wide open threes for them everything that they scored tonight was tough in my opinion and uh when you players like that score that way you just got leave with it. Um, after the game, you had a moment of kindness there. What to to give a do the ball? Just what what were you hearing and what made you kind of go? He didn’t say what was going on. I asked an assist and told him what was going on. It was like the night giving the ball to the to the rookie. Um, I don’t know why I don’t know why they wasn’t giving the ball. I just went grabbed the ball and gave it to gave it to the team.

No excuses, this was just unacceptable, they were unprepared, lacked energy and couldn't defend a paper clip!
You hear that Doc, being tried is not an excuse! Even Giannis understands this.
Thanks for being the only player to show up ❤️
Starting lineup MT, GA, Kuz (for now), Rollins and KPJ. A good front court, and a backcourt that can light the floor up and jump in the passing lanes. Our best 5 need to start. I think our defense will look a lot better.
All you can do is give this man respect
Thank you for being sucg class act, having honor and respect for your opponents by taking the ball from those nasty refs and making sure the Lakers rookie got the game ball.
Giannis deserves better than this man. Doc Rivers really just in Milwaukee to collect a paycheck and go home. Giannis is trying to win and he doesn’t have the help around him.
Giannis ALWAYS shows up, no excuses!
Greg Buckner is one of the worst defensive coaches in the league. Doc Rivers is an excuse maker. Giannis I feel for you.
Giannis. is just going to have to accept the fact that he's never going to win another world championship in Milwaukee, so he going to have to make a choice if he wants to stay in Milwaukee or move on, because he's doing everything possible, but it's just not working for him.
Giannis—–>>🚪
He's good man but you can't run a system with him, sometimes if a guy has a lot of trade value now you might have to, you buy low and sell high, not sell low
Doc Rivers is better at producing excuses than ChatGPT
Doc is a lazy coach, pretty simple.
I’m wondering if front office will address the fans concerns regarding coaching. Rumors are they fire doc and ham becomes interim
82 games
Bucks need s trade..defensively these guards give up alot of size.
Giannis, torcer para o Bucks é isso ai em um jogo eu amo em outra eu odeio 😂
32PTS. 10REB. 5AST. 1BLK. 60%FG. Even when the team is struggling Giannis manages good stat lines.
When they throw the whole team at Giannis we need a guy to help him. Everyone just standing on the perimeter watching him get mauled
Lakers fan here, nothing but respect & ty to Giannis for getting our rook the game ball!
We gotta start being better in back to backs like come on guys
It's just going to be another day another season gone by. I hope I am wrong, but I haven't been the last couple seasons .
I knew after this game all the Doc hate would rise again. Y'all need to get a life. Doc can't make the shots go in. He can't stop the other teams from making buckets. It's a make or miss league. The same shots that were falling for the Bucks against Charlotte weren't dropping against LA. Nothing to do with schemes or lineups or rotations. Luka hit his shots.
