  2. How much of that time is spent clowning around in the neutral zone looking for fights while we’re actively getting scored on?

  6. We can talk all we want about how tough of a job Foote has had in his first season as a head coach with all the injuries but then you see this.

    Terrible line deployment by Foote. His instincts are off when it comes to this sort of thing. I wish we would get a straight answer as to how Kane can repeatedly time terrible penalties, miss defensive assignments, make blind pass to no one and still get first line minutes.

  9. Games played is a big part of this. Still seems too high given his moments of stupidity 

  10. Stats are fun, only 5 teams have 19 gp this season and the Canucks have a ton of injuries while they had a lack of top 6 forwards going in. Total time on ice per game for forwards has Kane 4th on the Canucks.

  11. He also leads the team in PIMs and has the 2nd worst +/-. All for $5.125m..

  13. Kane sucks. I don’t care if he shows some flashes of brilliance once in a while because they are quickly followed up with many, many terrible plays. The guy sucks and seems like he isn’t a team player. Trying to fight the guy yesterday after he cleanly beat you to the puck was embarrassing.

  15. My question would be how Edmonton has only four regulation wins in 19 games with McDavid and Draisaitl playing so many minutes.

  19. Anecdotally I feel like Kane seems to take pretty long shifts — like, Petey and Garland will have already changed and he’ll still be out in the offensive zone with 2/3 of the next line.

    Myers and Kane on the ice at the same time is like guaranteed penalty

  22. The team’s significantly better with Kane in the lineup than whoever they might replace him with from within the organization. He brings a combination of speed and presence to the game that none of their other forwards have. He takes some dumb penalties.

    He’s on an expiring contract.

    I don’t get the hate.

  24. Ah yes, total 5on5 icetime, also known as the world’s least meaningful statistic. The guy doesn’t play on PP1 currently, he’s not on the penalty kill and he’s one of the few players who hasn’t been injured. Obviously he’s going to be high in 5on5 icetime. In a team with this many injuries getting mad about his 5on5 icetime is just ignorant.

  30. Some pretty funny over reactions to this. It’s not even surprising, he’s been playing wing on Petey and Garland’s line, so his ice time will be close to a 1st line wingers ice time. He doesn’t kill penalties and very rarely gets power play time, so his actual ice time is not that high.

  33. Why do y’all hate this guy, he leads the team in shots at even strength with 55 vs the next guy at 32, has decent advanced stats, 3rd on the team in even strength scoring while shooting under 4%, 3rd in hits

    I’ve seen enough of Kane to know that I don’t want him back next season. It’s weird too….he’s FROM Vancouver yet he doesn’t feel like a Canuck.

    You think the guy would take this opportunity and show a lot more energy and urgency.

  43. Man why is this sub obsessed with 5 on 5 ice time? It ignores so much of what else may have been happening in the games. Can’t wait to see another post about Petey not getting enough 5 on 5 time but then total toi is ignored.
