Reviewing Parker Washington’s Outstanding Game in Week 10 | Jacksonville Jaguars

[Music] Welcome into the film room presented by Microsoft Copilot Plus PC. Parker Washington returned home to the Houston area on Sunday and had an excellent game. I thought the way that he made that catch in the back of the end zone on the reception was a thing of beauty. The body control and the awareness of getting his feet in bounds was exceptional and just goes to show you how advanced that Parker Washington is getting. But the thing that I really loved was the punt return. His second punt return touchdown on the year. He had an 87 yder against the 49ers and he got some great blocking. But this 73 y against the Texans was about Parker Washington. Let’s jump into the film. A 68yd punt. And a lot of times when you have a 68-yard punt, you can outkick the coverage, so to speak. At this point now, Parker Washington has the ball at the 27 yd line. And you can see that the coverage is kind of scattered about, not quite down into this area where a lot of times you’ll see with a 50-yard punt. So Parker Washington has some time to react and to set things up. Now, let’s look at it from the end zone camera because this really shows the greatness of this return. And this is the moment that he catches it from that end zone angle. And you can see how many Texans players appear to be unblocked. Quite a few of them, right? Not quite like the return against the 49ers. Now, you’ve got some good blocking over here, but right down the middle is the concern. Watch what Parker Washington does. He settles back and now he starts to go to his left. And he’s going to his left because he’s got unblocked coverage guys right in front of him. This is where the beauty happens. Bam. He plants that foot and goes to the right in this alleyway. But then he’s going to have another group of guys to be worried about. We’ll get to that in a second because watch the plant. You see three guys right there. Three guys. All of them. He takes care of them because of that move. And then once he gets up the field, he straightens them up. That look at that. This guy right here almost breaks his leg. What a fake by Parker Washington. Let’s look at this in real speed. The fake to the left. There’s three guys. Straighten it up. Fake to the left. There’s two more guys gone. And then it’s just a foot race. And they’re not going to catch Parker Washington at all. Ain’t no way. And I love the finish here. The falling in the back of the end zone. Nice.

Jeff Lageman rolls the tape on the Jaguars Week 10 game vs. the Las Vegas Raiders. He dissects Parker Washington’s performance including an impressive touchdown grab and a long punt return. Check it out on Film Room, presented by Microsoft Copilot + PC.
