Pelicans UNDER FIRE by Fans…

Renewed calls for change are louder than ever as they return for a treacherous 5game home stand. We have the latest details on what’s going on inside this edition of Bellicus Digest. And also share this with your fellow Bells fans if you know I’m out there as the struggle continues. And at the start of the season, before the season really started, I remember doing a video on the schedule release uh when the Pelicans uh announced their schedule. And I remember pointing out that the highlight of the schedule was going to be the first 10 to 20 games of this season, especially the first 10, and whether or not it would be a moratorum on what’s going on with Willie Green. Well, we know what it is now. We’re two and eight. We’re We’re at the bottom of the Western Conference. We’re at the bottom of the Western Conference. Can’t really put this on lack of talent. You can’t because the talent you I think you have enough talent there. I’ve continuously argued and a lot of people have argued that the mismanagement of talent is what’s been an issue and we saw it on display once again last night against the Phoenix Suns. Once again, lineup issues with Willie Green. defense scheme. Rotation’s never based on scheme. It’s as though he’s just playing. Everybody got a play ass rotation. Everybody play. Come on. Everybody Everybody got off the bench last night and played except where DeAndre Jordan joined E Missy. E Missy was supposed to be available, but coach decided not to let E missy play last night. And you got to by Grayson Allen for 40 something points. At least it wasn’t Deon Booker this time, right? Deon Book. Deon Booker well known for putting up 50 on us. But at least it wasn’t Deon Book at this time. It was Grayson Allen. As you as your team doesn’t play any sort of defense and doesn’t know how to close out on shooters, they just fly around and jump around all all game long because you’re running a inept zone defense without the proper personnel. That zone defense kept leading to them threes all night. And again, your team keep you insist on trying to make this team a three-point team. You went 10 for 32 last night from three. Grayson Allen by himself made 10 three-pointers last night. Your entire team made 10 three bonus combined last night. What are we doing? What are we doing? Jordan Hawkins once again in just 8 minute in five minutes of first half action. Minus 17. Y’all finished the game minus 18. [Laughter] What are we doing, man? And yet this man still continues to get the grace of of of of Gail Benson and Joe Dumar. All day today I woke up and that’s the only article I’ve been seeing and all the articles I’ve been seeing is fire Willie Green. What are Bellas waiting for? Dallas already pulled the trigger on Nico even though that situation was insane in itself. Bellicus is just on stand with Willie Green. And this statement once again after one of these losses shows that this team is not following this man. This was his postgame comments at the Phoenix last night. We can’t wait and let teams get up 15 points and now show our toughness and show our ability to be aggressive. A good learning experience for us. It’s just below our standard. A good learning experience, y’all. A good learning experience. Five years and we still learning. Yes, I know this is a new team. Yes, I understand there’s a whole lot of new players on this team and you got to get some chemistry together and you’re working on that, but why are you begging these gentlemen and these professionals to play with some defensive intensity or waiting until they get down 15 points to try to tell them that you need some defensive intensity? Somebody say that that that statement was the essentially you can tell that this man has resigned himself to this fate with this team as you go into this fivegame home stand coming home against five teams who are who don’t have a losing record including the defending world champions. We gonna get into that in a minute. But it’s just so sad, man. And it’s just so frustrating to see that I don’t understand why Willie Green continues to get this pass. Everybody continues to say that he’s he’s this players coach. You you know what kind of players coach he reminds me of? Remember you were a kid and you ever got your butt whipped and you got in trouble or something like that and you felt like your parents’ punishment was too harsh and so you told yourself when you was a kid or you were crying in your bed at night, I’m never going to be like that when I grow up. I’m never going to be strict and mean like that when I grow up. And then when you grow up, you still end up kicking your kids behind anyway because you saw that it worked and it was effective for you. That’s what I give a Woody Green. Woody Green is one of those coaches who grew up who played the NBA said, “I don’t want to be like that coach, right? That that tough coach right there. I’m going to be the I’m going to make change. I’m not I’m going to be nice to these guys.” And these guys ain’t listening no more, man. They’re not listening. They’re not listening anymore. Will Gillery is probably one of the biggest um propels writers out there, but according to Sports Illustrated, even he’s getting negative about it. Monday’s loss was another example of the poor execution and lack of creativity that has plagued this group all season. It’s not the it’s not just the shortage of talent. Williamson and Jordan Bull are sidelineed by injuries that has hurt the Pelicans. In several of these games, they look lost on both ends of the floor. They look unprepared and uninterested. That falls directly at the feet of the head coach. I mean, and this is what we’ve been saying, man. These cats just look uninspired. They look like they don’t listen to him when he’s yelling at him on the floor to do these plays and do whatever it is he’s asking them to do. It looks like they’re not paying attention. They don’t care. And you have to keep ask and why do we have to keep asking y’all what what is it going to take with this man to be gone? Is it going to take what’s going to happen this upcoming week? Because so far the one saving grace for Green over the last few games is the way he’s starting to piece together a vision that puts rookie sensations Jeremiah Fears and Derek Queens in position to succeed. If those two continue to grow and Green finds interesting ways to use him, that would be his best path for keeping his job. But yet and still, you got to figure out how to scheme up Trey Murphy better because teams are keying in on Trey Murphy. Trey had a double double last night. 2110 and four. But that was a hard 2110 and four. Especially when your coach ain’t going to go out there and argue with the referees about the foul calls. He’s not going to he’s not going to politic on y’all behalf. He’s just going to stand there with his arms folded and ask what happened. That was a hard 2110 and and and and for trade last night because teams had now started to scheme and say, you know what, we’ll take our risk with the rest of them. We need to scheme up on him. Real quick, thank you once again for Sadique Bay. Thank you again for Sadique Bay. Seem like the only player out there that’s playing with some heart, some gritt, some tenacity, and hustle again. Had 15 points last night. Respectable night. Valuable contribution so far to this team. But like like we just said a minute ago, what’s saving Willie Green so far is that he’s starting to understand and maybe I need to start playing these rookies some more. And he did last night. You saw a lot of minutes from uh Rook uh Fierce Queen and Peavey. But of course by then the game was out of hand. Of course by then the game was out of hand. Of course by then the game was out of hand. And that’s what’s frustrating about it. The other issue is why still why is Looney still getting starts over Queen when you see that the offense he’s too slow to run the kind of offense that you want to run? He needs to be in the second or third unit when you want to when you want to get some more offensive rebounding especially you going to keep trying Hawkins out there to chunk up miss threes. Oh man, it’s so bad. It’s so bad. It’s so bad. I can tell you this though, starting tomorrow night, Will Gillery said in reporting, “If the Pelicans keep playing with such inconsistent effort, their home fans will rain down a chorus of moves and in particular on Green, which could prove tougher ownership to ignore. It might get ugly over the next week. You got Portland, you got Denver, you got the Lakers, and best believe I’m gonna be in the building and help y’all rain down booze on this team next Sunday and Monday night when we go against the Warriors and the Thunder. I know, right? I know it’s a saying, right? I’m a glutton for punishment, but I will be in the Smoothie King Center next Sunday, this coming Sunday and Monday night for Warriors Thunder back to back. And we probably going to get smoked. I’m sorry. We going to get I got to be there to see it. I got to be there to see it. I don’t know why I’m a glutton for punishment. Maybe I’m addicted to bad basketball. But damn it, I’mma be in the building to help rain down booze in the Smoothie King Center this weekend. But it’s all bad, man. Cuz I don’t understand what is taking what more does ownership need to see? Do you need to see us? Do you need to see us audibly cussing y’all out Sunday and Monday night and and and then the next game by Wednesday when they play Denver? Y’all need to see that’s what y’all need to see probably. If that’s what y’all need to see, then I I’m I will be there in the tennis to make sure you hear along with my fellows fan because enough is enough with this man. Willie Green again, nice man, but his team is not responding to him. This team is still soft. Soft. Super soft. Your lineups, no imagination or offense. None. It’s the same thing every single night. Everybody camped out around a three-point line thinking they could shoot a tray. You can’t get into the paint. You got bigs. You don’t use your bigs effectively or or try to set up a post perimeter game. you. Everybody’s just running around trying to get to a three-point corner somewhere and shoot. You don’t want play queen. You’re not giving queen a car. You’re not helping Queen. These veterans aren’t helping Queen. Queen gets in the post, gets trapped. Nobody helps him. Nobody scrambles around and moves around to try to get open to help the kid out. They just stand there and watch. Same for Fierce. They They just stand there and watch Fierce. Fierce try to drive into the paint. Nobody tried to crash in and help or try to get into a position that would help him get the ball to him. No, they just stand around and watch. I don’t understand why they’re not seeing what I’m seeing in the games in real time and not adjusting in real time. I don’t It’s just hard to understand what Willie Green is thinking in these games. He’s he’s con he’s getting out coached now by guys who just got there to their teams. Phoenix ran the most simple offense and the most simple defense last night and it was super effective for this team because there was no imagination. Absolutely none. And that’s unfortunate, man. That’s unfortunate. And I’m trying to figure out Gail Benson, what else do you need to see? You have 10 games now. You have a dummar. You have enough sample size. Why are y’all waiting to see? Why are y’all waiting for things to get ugly in the Smoothie King Center this week? Why were we y’all Why is it going to take that for y’all to decide that this is not Why are we delaying the inevitable? Why are we delaying the inevitable is my question. But hey, it is what it is, man. It is what it is. It’s It’s hard to be a fan of this team. And when you realize that that that you know your ownership just seems like they more worried about whether or not your your coach your coach is a good person and we got high character guys. I you don’t have high character guys. You got one player that’s on injury reserve right now who’s beefing on Instagram with a rapper’s baby mama. You got another one who just seems like he just wants to he’s never miss he’s never going to not take a shot he doesn’t like is one of the most worst defensive players on this team. And the other one, he’s gotten past all his issues, but he’s back on the bench again, hurt. So, no, you don’t have high character, guys. It’s not. It’s nothing. Nothing is working right now. So, why are we delaying the inevitable? Pull the trigger and do what you got to do so we can try to see what we could do with this team and rectify this season. But, it’s going to be ugly and I will be in the building to let you know about it in a couple of days. What are your thoughts? Hey, look, y’all need to come join me. Look, I know y’all look, go snack. If you get free tickets, tickets for $5, $10. We need to fill the fully Wy King sent up with booze this week. That’s what needs to happen for this for Gil to understand what’s going on for what’s really real. Clap back with your thoughts in the comments. 1. The reason why Willie is still here, simply because he is cheap, and ownership isn’t about investing into this franchise until a long term deal is established. We all can see that this dude just doesn’t have it to be an NBA coach. Listen to his interviews, they are always about effort and motivation. Never hear anything about systematic improvements offensively or defensively. The reason is; simply because he doesn’t have a system.

  2. At this point WG will probably be fired cuz it will make fans happy (for a second till the losing continues)….but this is still on ownership and management past/present in my book. A team loosely built around a superstar who can't stay healthy, depending on Jordan Poole, Looney and an assortment of role players doesn't sound like the foundation for success. I just have NO faith in Joe D. What moves has he made that would make the fanbase think it's going to get any better under a different coach?
