We don’t sign either King or Cease, or any of the other top free agent pitchers. We are going to sign a Dustin May type of guy and let Niebla cook again. Get a guy on a 4 year deal like Pivetta, hopefully backloaded with a solid bonus to get him. Or, Preller cooks and finds a guy for a trade, send Salas somewhere to get a real guy on an expiring contract, like Sandy Alcantara.

Ranger is likely the only true option here, but he has a QO and that probably hurts his chances landing in SD.
Make Miller into an ace, dude is unhittable, and we don’t have the resources to sign a guy with that type of stuff in FA.
