Cam Little Opens Up about Record-Breaking Kick | Jacksonville Jaguars

[Applause] Shotgun for Trevor. Dropping the throw. Fourman rush. Looking. Fires that one deep downfield to the far sideline. It is caught. Tackled around the 49 yd line. But the clock is going to turn here. The Jags are going to have to get up and try and spike it. 8 seconds to play. He was tackled in the field of play. 5 seconds and Trevor will spike it with 4 seconds left in the half. Good job right there by the offense getting down the field lined up to spike it. Now you send your kicker out for a last second try. It’ll be a 68 yder. You know, he made the 70 y in the preeason. Me personally, not a lot of thought that goes behind my kicks. I don’t go out there and think when I kick the ball. I’m a guy that’s going to go out there and just tee off on the football, let it fly. I haven’t necessarily been doing my job the best of my ability this season. Um, and I can take accountability for that in any scenario. I’ve got to be better. But the only way up is forward. You can’t dwell on the past. You just got to focus on the future. And I think, you know, having a coach that will stand on the table for me in any scenario and have my back is something that, um, like I said, is forever invaluable to me. And again, God has got absolutely zero chance. We don’t have confidence in this guy. Zero chance. And he big time kicks. Big time moments. I think I just took time away to get away from football for a second. I went back to Oklahoma, saw some people that I love dearly and that care about me and my life and, you know, make me not just a better football player, but a better man. And so, it was really big for me and I think it was big for our team. You know, we go out there, you know, get a clean slate after by-week, after back-to-back losses, and, you know, we see it as a place we can build from. It was nice. A 68 yd field goal that would end the half. Obviously, his career long is 59 yds. Well, we saw him make the one at 70. Look, in the last two games, he’s missed two field goals and an extra point. But you talk about getting some confidence back. You drilled this one right here and you got it back. So, here we go. A 68 y from the left hash. Logan puts it down. Cam Little kicks it up. The 68-yd field goal is [Applause] good. Let’s go. Let’s go. [Applause] He drilled it from 68 yds on the last play of the half. How good is that? Cam Little from 68 yds. my wonderful. You know, those conversations are um ones that fulfill me with confidence and not fill me with pressure. And it’s really cool to know that I have an organization that has my back.
