NHL Highlights | Islanders vs. Avalanche | November 16, 2025
Frog Nelson will take the face off against his
former team for the first time and it’s down and we are underway. That puck is snapped
into the Islander zone by third. Good for check there by the Islanders for Monoff all the
way to the point. D’Angelo finds Pell with that long floater stopped by Wedgewood. Thought
Jared Bender was very interesting in how he described his goalending situation after the
last game. Sent in front score. It was deflected and somehow that got through Wedgewood. This
one’s going to be close. Mo, it’s definitely off the skate. It’s a matter of if it’s a kicking
motion. Heinow really smart play from the point, but this is 100% off the skate. It’s just a
matter of is if is it a kicking motion or not? He slid that left skate forward, Johnny. You see
right there? That sure looks like a boot to me. I don’t know how else you could be judged, guys. I
think it looks a bit more like a deflection. Still on that puck as Burst is deep in the zone.
I don’t think he heard me over there. Good. Make the steal. Nice play turnaround by Colton
and it’s blocked by Sro off for Tavs. So, one more shot coming here. Power play almost
over. Gavin Brimman finds the captain. A back hand flip. Knocked the way. Comes to Brley.
Turns it fires. Saved by Sroen. Giving him a standing ovation during our first timeouts.
of the evening. Bumping out for Nas. A little ahead of steam in Marty Nes with a restorative
save by Zroken. Here comes Brimley and he got his stick lifted. What a play by Marcel.
Brimley down the slot. Stick lifted. Shot stopped by Wedgewood. It pops into his club.
Here’s Horvat. He’s on a pace right now, fellas. That he’d have his best season ever.
That long shot stopped by Wedgewood. ABS can’t get it out. Another bomb there. Deflected
wide. finds Macar and that one hopped on him with an near side pull. Walking in, floats it deep
and Wedgler holds his ground. Seven total shots here in a slowmoving period one. Barcel fires it.
Pellet with a bomb there and that missed. Wound up for the big old slappers. Drew goes to the point.
D’Angelo flips one. Stopped by Wedgewood who’ll hold on. He wants brought ahead by Molinsky.
Now Nelson Molinsky with a quick shot. Save. Rebound save. So Soken right there. Oh, he could
feel the wind. I was going to ask you about that. I bet Josh Manson’s eyes got so big. Clair with a
shot over the top of the net. He got a lot on it. Wedgewood never saw it. It was high rising. Mfield
with a long shot. Gloved by Wedgewood in traffic. Now here comes Olivess long wrist shot
him with there with a glove save. This is Matthew Schaer the overall number one
who at 18 years of age Reichkes is really impressed. Yeah and you never want to compare
anybody to McDavid but he’s really heads up. Real quick motion like McDavid. Shot there
and a save by Wedgewood with the blocker. Bang it away from here come the attack with
the top line. You kidding? Steers it over. Ling it with a wrist shot. Saved by Siroken.
And that one off his mass. It’s a deflection, but he absolutely knows what he’s doing.
Yeah. Yeah. It’s by the rule by the letter of the law. It’s not pounded up. That’s
Drew Olivesson. Islanders want to bring it right back in. Horvette. Wrist shot. Save.
Rebound saved by Wedgewood. Unbelievable shot saved by Scott Wedwood. And he’ll hold on
away a little bit. That’s when you need your goalender to make some saves, guys. Two
turnovers, one by Sam Gerard and one just a hair later by Sam Molinsky. And that kept the
pressure in the AB zone and three big saves. Wedgewood comes up. You see the wedge wall in
full action, fellas. Well, that second save by Wedgewood catches him in the oblique. It’s
the first time the ABS have not scored a first period goal since October 16th in Columbus.
fired ahead trying to get by with a recept called the short side of Sroen beats him and
beats it clean and the abs have tied the game at one for Colton his third goal of the season
but you talked about it gentlemen his motor is going tonight great help by Brock Nelson
in the corner over to Kale Mar head up all the time full sroen going short side pel
actually knocks the stick of Ross Colton So I think it fools Sroa because that little knock
on the stick right now. Olives gives it off for Drury. Landisk it up top. Jerome with a quick
shot kick save there by Sroen. ABS keep it in Victor Olson on the redirect. let it fly and
all of a sudden just got a piece to give the AS a 2-1 lead. Well, this all started Landisk coming
over the blue line takes a huge hit from Romanov, but you can see Minsky shooting it just past
the shin guards and Olison the deflection in midair. Gabe Lanniscott also sold out earlier
in the shift to keep this play alive, keep the AB cycle going in the offensive zone and just back
on the ice for the A. It’s a good sign. An awkward fall into the corner. Barllo down deep. Put off
by Minsky, but is set it down deep. Loose puck. Kicked away by Wedgewood. He literally got the
flipper out there and rebooted Barzo. Don he goes, fires across that shot. Finn on near side. Mary
with a shot. Oh my goodness. Did make a save. Did he save that puck at the post? I can’t believe it.
Saved by Woodward. It’s up in midair. Bell out of the zone. He’s up top just waiting for a pass. And
you’re right, Johnny. He whipped that first one and oh my goodness, the blocker gets up and over.
Here’s a dynamite. Look right off the numbers of the bicep. What a save, Jent. Wow. And it was
Paul Mary. I thought it was Barcel, but what a save. And then fighting through traffic. Islanders
power play coming in 22nd overall. Paul Mary saved by Wedgewood on the near side. Barzo weaving
up toward the blue line. That’s the forehand shoots. Kick save by Wedgewood. Abs going to be
spread. Here comes Lan on the break. Incoming. Save. Penalty coming up. Well guys, here’s Lechen
coming in. There’s the shot just trying to get it barely over the pad. The high stick by Pulock
was earlier right there on Parker Kelly there behind. Puck off there. Pardon me. Stick off the
mitten happy to get that puck at the net. Here’s a turnaround shot. A save by Sroen is Martin Houses
and Chambers got the puck. Second power play of the game for New York. Barcel to the dot able
to scoot him out. Turn around save by Wedgewood. Cats had dreams of a two-on-one there. Almost
had it. Paul Mary down Broadway runway with a shot. Safe by Wwood. He’s able to hold on. Down
the boards is Brinley. Paul Mary got there first. Monov trying to march away. He’s drawn the eye of
several players tonight. Loose P. Save by Sroen. Another opportunity. It’s underneath Sroen. Now
it’s free. I gave it to her somehow. Here’s the scramble in front. Brock Nelson’s got one
shot at it. There’s one. Oh my goodness, Colton. All he’s got to do is beat the glove of
Sroen. Somehow someway he keeps this out. Johnny, how does he stop it? He just launches backward
right here. Doesn’t even know he has it. You could see the scramble in front. Mayfield
blocked the first shot, but it ends up on the stick of Brock Nelson. And Ross Colton, I don’t
know how he doesn’t score this. Sroken, I can’t believe he’s sold out. He gave everything he had.
Didn’t even know he had it. You can see Brenley back to Mar. Tip from Martious. I cut him off and
that was Mayfield. No shots on goal yet. McKenna a spin backand shot. Saved by Sroen. Here comes
Marvel galloping through the neutral zone. Down the wing is Kale. Mar to the forehand. Mar shoots.
Saved by Siroken. And he didn’t even move. And Kale comes in the old under the stick special.
And oh boy, Johnny almost slid under the glove. Did a good job this shield. Here’s Kelly now, but
Horvat gets it back. Now the target shot saved by Westwood. Oh, the quick pass to the bumper and
Scott Redwood with a great save on Palmer. Ripped across from Barzel. 20 to go in the kill. That
puck just bounced on. What another great save by at the blue line. This save is the game. That’s
save of the game right there. comes across that format. That puck off for three by Drury. Picked
up though by Moius. Don’t speed it to center ice. Gives it off for Drury with the return pass
and it’s taken away by L. Deontage couldn’t get his first. Oh man, went off the clock. Son of
a gun. Less than a minute to go here. Lead pass on target. Schaer’s got to be dead tired. He’s been
out there for an hour. Reversed by Taves. Manson hard around the boards. Tidley in the gut.
40 seconds left in regulation. Taken away by Nius. He’ll slam over. Score and give it up this
time. It’s an empty net goal. That’s going to do it. The have a 3-1 lead. And Bernius his lucky
13th goal of the season. Their top goal scorer. The confidence that he puts that in. Wedgewood
that push across. He keeps that from crossing the goal line by about three. Who’s that? Betty
White. Oh yeah. My love would have been hard on the broom. Just mapped that on the edge. No
doubt. Kicked up for Burge. Shot. Stop. Rob Nelson got a piece of it, I believe. And with
15.3 left, this thing is done. Just a little bit of a tickle to put the AS on top by three.
I’m pretty sure Nelson got a piece of that. Just a little icing on the cake. Brock
Nelson’s been so good. He actually had a chance right before that empty net to jump
up and make it a threeon one and he was dead tired from that penalty kill. But that’s getting
rewarded for a really solid game in Brock Nelson. Here we go. 10 to go. They
continue to dominate on the home ice hockey and there’s
the board. It’s a 41 final.

They let that obviously kick goal stand and take away Will Smith obvious non-kick goal last night? Who is reviewing these goals and where is the consistency?
As a isles fan, wedgewood was INSANE. Soroking was great too but wedgewood was dialed. What a game for him!
Wedgwood was absolutely gnarly tonight. This was such a close game until the last couple minutes
Me when I kick a puck into the goal
Wedgie was robbed of a goose egg tonight, that was clearly a kick. You can see the player track the puck the whole time!!!!
Hahaha THAT KICK GOAL WAS ALLOWED???🦶😂
Not the Avs best game but depth showed up and Necas did his thing and wedgie was dialed!!!
Wedgewood brilliant performance
