S.I.’s Albert Breer on a Possible Joe Burrow Return Timeline | The Rich Eisen Show
Joe Burrow’s window to practice, a 21-day window for him to practice in and for the Bengals to have to decide to reactivate him or not for the rest of the season. That opened up um this very week. It opened up a couple days ago, Albert. And so we’re the clock’s ticking for a team that’s coming off of their buy. Speaking of the Steelers, this is a big game. Pittsburgh needs to come home and hold serve against Cincinnati. The Bengals now have the next two games to figure out is it worth it or does Burrow’s body actually give them the answer that it’s not worth it? Walk me through what you see over the next three weeks leading up to that big Thanksgiving night finale on NBC in Baltimore. Yeah. So, like obviously the Bengals had high hopes coming out of that Thursday night game. Um that that Joe Flacco was going to be able to to to lead them to a point where it’s like, okay, like we’re really going to get going now with Joe Burrow as our quarterback and we’re going to be five and four going into our buy. And then they lose games. They lose consecutive games to the Jets and Bears, which I don’t think they saw coming. And to be fair, wasn’t Joe Flacco’s fault. Like th those were shootouts and the defense was the culprit, not Flacco and the offense. Um so like now you’re going into um Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore, and I I can tell you Burrow has been throwing for a while. He’s been in meetings for a while. And so this week they’re going to get him I the plan I think like and this is from what I’ve heard over the last few days is to get him seven on seven work not get him in 11 on 111 yet. They want to get him to the point where he’s getting real reps where he’s going through his progressions. He’s not just throwing to a trainer right and so like that ramps him up and then I I think they feel like the next two games might not be the most realistic. So that’s New England and that’s Baltimore. So if you’re three and six, can you find a way to go two and one in those two in those three games? Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore. Um, you know, and then at that point you’re at six and seven and you’ve got and god I like now I’ve got that ringing in my because my stupid kids they’re uh I said six seven. Um so uh but but if you’re six and seven um going into that game um with Buffalo in week 14 um I think that’s what you have circled and um this is going to be kind of a convergence of Joe’s comfort level because it is a little bit of a moving target with that injury and the team’s place and the team spot in contention and um you know I don’t think he’ll be back over the next three games but I also I’m not going to sit there and rule him out. Like could he find a way to play on a short week when they’re not practicing against Baltimore? I wouldn’t completely like completely say that isn’t happening. Um but I also know there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to this and um I’m rooting for it. I’m rooting for I’m not root I don’t I don’t root for any team, but I I would love to see Joe Burrow out there competing for a playoff spot down the stretch for sure. Of course. I mean, I’m sure NBC’s keeping it on their uh Thanksgiving hope chest, you know what I mean? Certainly, uh, for him to maybe return, al although, you know, Flaco back in Baltimore again, you know, because he did it with Cleveland, now he does with I mean, the guy’s played international games plural and all sorts of stuff. It’s crazy. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

If they get 2 wins from steelers and patriots then obviously stick with momentum under flacco and wait till at least buffalo to bring burrow back, if they get 2 losses from those 2 games then sticking with flacco for Baltimore is also obvious cos why rush burrow back when playoff hopes are already dead.
The problem is if they go 1-1 in those Pittsburgh and New England games
Joe sheisty szn loading!!😈
If Burrow comes back by Thanksgiving he will receive another season ending injury that will hurt him next year. It would be an idiot bet with the Bengals having possibly the worst defense of the Super Bowl era and no shot at making the playoffs.
4-8 last year, finished 9-8 narrowly missed playoffs and were the consensus ' team you don't want to play ' if they had got in. Just saying it ain't over yet
Flacco will do good for these next two game. Then his shoulder will become an issue. Thats when the next joe comes in and keep the momentum going. Thanksgiving day will be awesome.
Whats the point? Flacco has played at the exact same level and they still cant win. Can Burrow put up 50 a game to Flaccos 40? Not reasonable. Just shelf him until next year, trade assets rebuild your defense, open your window again. Oh and fire the GM and coaching staff and start again.
