Hockey Fights Cancer Night W | Toyota Game Recap 11/16/2025
about that first goal that was from the Islanders 2 minutes into the game. It’s a bizarre goal. I’ll kneel to Johnny and say, “Okay, it wasn’t a kicking motion, but it sure looked like one.” It was less of a kicking motion than the kick you gave me behind the desk at the first intermission. But D’Angelo’s firing this looking for a stick, not even trying to get it on net. It’s not a kicking motion. Yeah, Riker explained it as a safety issue. If if you’re kicking, it becomes dangerous. If you angle your skate, if there’s no danger and the NHL wants to see more goals, that’s more goals. You win. Early in the second period, Mar is going to throw about a 40 yd bomb straight down the middle. Ross Colton, I said he’s got the voodoo spin on it. Finds back in the net. All starts with Brock Nelson helping out in the Dzone. He had a tremendous game against his old team at Mar Pinpoint pass and then Pel gets a piece of Colton stick and I think that fools Roken. You can see through the monkey off his back. There’s some celebration in the great dive right there by Landiskog to keep the play alive. Valinsky throws it on net hold. So they took the assist away from Gabe Landisk saying that there was possession in my mind by Pacio. There is zero possession. Landisk dives. It hits Pacio and goes out to Malinsky and he rips one. You can see right here this angle. What a tip by Olison. This is a foot and a half in the air, folks. Fools Sroen. He’s sliding one way. Hit the brakes. He’ll fly right by. Landy should have four more points than he currently does. Anyway, 6 minutes into the third. Brent Burns going to take out the trash. Josh Manson going to recycle. And that was a fun little play. The building was buzzing. Bren Burns old man strength. Josh Manson. Oh, here’s Birds on Heinman. Says, “Anders Lee, you’re 6’3”, 230. I’m going to throw you over Heinman as well. And all of a sudden, got ourselves a Donny Brook right after this. Yeah, Anders Lee didn’t like it. He wanted to introduce himself to Josh Manson’s fist and he obliged. Here they are. There’s five of them. Do they feel good? Well, if you go looking for Josh Manson, he can’t get one punch in the first second and a half, which is exactly what happened. Hunter’s lead, not a small man, but Josh Manson, he freakishly strong. Ross Colton was over there wanting the two minutes for roughing. They would get it. The ABS would end up getting a power play. Josh Manson now 72 and0 in all of his fights. Oh, there’s Josh cooling down. There’s the other look right to your lips. Taste that. Wasn’t quite that extreme, but we’ll go with it. Thank you, Griff, for throwing that in there. Uh less than a minute to go. ABS trying to kill a six on five. Marty Nes, he’s got a good shot. From any distance, this is when you know you are at 110% confidence in the way you are playing. You’ve got your 8year extension. And he rifles it from 170 ft. The exclamation point. Brock Nelson little just a little bit of a triple. Well, the other thing too, Gabe Liskcock has a third assist on this one. It’s not funny, but it’s kind of funny. Brock Nelson had himself a game tonight. He gets rewarded with a late goal, but look how he’s starting to heat up. Second line center. Brent Burns rifling it. That is a filthy little tip. Boy, how nice has he been? Brent Burns just so patient, so calm, so solid in the back end. Uh, and he knows his buddy got it right there. He’s saying good job. ABS go on to win 4-1. Rolling. Take a look at some of the numbers. And the key number that you’ll see right there is the 0 for four on the power play for the New York Islanders. The ABS were off the charts good. Everybody 100% dedicated uh working as as a unit blocking shots, digging out loose pucks, helping Wedgewood, but he was he was the key. Obviously, your best penalty killer has to be the goalender, Scott Wedgewood. That was the case tonight. It’s been the case for most of the nights this season that he’s played. And there’s a reason why the penalty kills had success. They have pinpoint pressure when it’s appropriate.
