Foye Oluokun & Parker Washington on Performance in Loss to Texans | Jacksonville Jaguars

Uh, is it hard to kind of figure out even what happened there in the fourth quarter? Um, just had to get off the field faster and uh, execute the plays down the stretch. Did something change? Uh, do you think they just executed better? Yeah, it comes down to execution and uh, winning time that could start early in the third, late in the third, fourth quarter, all the way through, get off the field fast for us and then execute better. Is there a tendency? I mean, you have 29 to 10 to just kind of I mean, you obviously just don’t want to give up anything big, let them come down, but did things get a bit easier along the way for them just because of that? They get in a rhythm. They got in a rhythm. Uh trying to find the the right plays to um execute uh in terms of what they’re about to start doing. Uh when they’re starting being down, they know they need chunks and stuff. So, uh it’s on us to just execute whatever the play is called and then uh get off the field. You guys had some nice wins. This is obviously a real tough loss. How do you think you guys will handle it? I know um everybody’s already talking about being better, but you know, uh keep working, come back to work, and uh don’t point the finger at one one play and stuff, but we all got to uh look to where we should have done better and actually do it. So, um you know, you learn a lot from losses. Uh got a lot of season left, but let’s start executing all the way through the game. How much do you think some of this is fixable defensively? All of it’s fixable. um just trusting the the play call and then trusting your assignment and then um everybody playing off each other. We’ve seen what happens when it looks good. So just stick with it all the way through the game. With all the things that happened in this game, especially early, how hard is it to believe you guys ended up on the wrong side of it? Yeah, these are this a tough one for sure. Um but best part about it, I know we’re going to come back and get it together and respond. You know, I feel like that’s the special part about this team. everybody taking accountability. Um, everybody looking within, looking in the mirror first. Um, so I think that’s what makes us special and I know we will respond. What makes you believe you will after that? I This is a a this is a gut punch one, right? Isn’t it? What makes you believe you’ll respond the right way? Just the character and the the chemistry we have in our locker room. Um, it’s special. We’ve been working on this since OTAAS and training camp and you know it’s just been cool to see like even through the negatives it’s like next play mentality. Um and now it’s the next opportunity. So we’re just going to come back and go to work like we always do have some fun and get back after it next week. Take us through the touchdown uh early in the game the receiving one uh and these guys are tough to throw against and uh what would happen on that play? you know, Trev, he continued to trust me to make a play and they had a they that’s a good defense. Um, it was a good contested play and he trusted me to make the play. Put it back shoulder and we made it. Um, hats off the 16 every time. Just trust me with those plays and I just wanted to make a play for him. How about the kick return? What’ you see there? Saw a bunch of Houston guys early on. You know, it’s funny that uh very first on the very first punt return. Um, we’re talking about punt returns, right? Okay. The very first punt return. Um, I was upset that I got tackled cuz that was that was supposed to be a big one, too. Um, so we got another opportunity. Um, I caught it. I just saw a whole bunch of guys and I was like, let’s make a miss. Let’s make a long miss. And that was a punter and it was cool to make a play, but like we fell short, but we’re going to come back and respond. You guys only had nine plays in the fourth quarter. How hard is that as an offense just to watch because you can’t really do much about it from the sideline? Yeah, I mean we got to continue to just um lift up our defense and then when we do get our opportunity to go out there, we just got to capitalize and, you know, advance the ball, get first downs and, you know, score touchdowns.

Jaguars LB Foye Oluokun and WR Parker Washington speak with the media after a 29-36 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL Season.

  1. Somebody ask Trevor what his vision test was has to be 40-60 or worse. Can't see the open man down the field. Defense on the field the whole 4th quarter. Damn 26 points is a lot to give up. Good thing Josh and Trevor got paid when they did cause they look like bench warmers now.

  2. When they loose all they say is self inflicted wounds, taking accountability, I think it’s all just excuses for not playing better it has been same issues that they obviously have not fixed.
