Dallas Cowboys vs. Las Vegas Raiders: Injury News, Matchups & Players To Watch | NFL Week 11 Preview

We got a Cowboys game day as the Cowboys visit the Las Vegas Raiders tonight on Monday Night Football for the final game of week 11. The Cowboys are narrow favorites in this one. I will make note the overunder dropping a little bit down to 49 and a half as of filming. Before we dive into today’s show, it is my now four-year-old daughter Olivia’s fourth birthday. Can everyone give her some love and type HBD in the comments and we’ll mix it up this time. I don’t would never do it for myself, but for her, I’ll do it. Whoever comments the most gets a free raffle entry into the Monday Night Football raffle. As I’ve said before, we film the injury stuff uh this case Friday before the game on Monday. So, these are the 10 names that have been most consistently on the Cowboys injury report. We will have the final designations for you in the comment section and in the description of today’s video slash if there’s something big. We’ll have at least a short on it for you as well. The ones to monitor are how healthy your safety room is. Elijah Clark, Donovan Wilson getting some limited work in earlier this week. Solomon Thomas missed the first practice with a calf issue. His status looks super murky uh as he looks to recover from that injury suffered against the Cardinals. They’ve been managing Tyler Smith’s injury. should be fine. Rebel Overshown going to make their debuts this year for the Cowboys. Raiders injury report wise, most looks pretty good. Um, you know, Lockett was limited early in the week. He’s old. That’s fine. Dylan Parm seems in line to go, which I think is a pretty big boost for a Raiders offensive line that has issues as is. And Parm, frankly, one of their better pieces up front. Let’s flip that, though. In the first matchup to watch, the Cowboys right tackle or tackles. I would not rule out a potential rotation to an extent of Terrence Steel and Nathan Thomas or at least a quick trigger on whoever starts the game for Dallas. They will face for the most part Max Crosby. His pressure rate per nextg stats is down this year. It’s a little bit better on PFF side. It’s also a factor of ain’t nobody scares anybody else on that Raiders team. The amount of double and triple teams he is repeatedly getting is insane. He is getting chip blocked or double team on a career-high 32.3% of his pass rushes. That that is that is miles at the edge rusher spot. It’s extremely high figure there. U but he mostly plays on the left side. The second most snaps there in the NFL this season. So he’ll get Terrence Steel if he starts. Got benched against the Cardinals. Look, there is no matchup on the right side of the offensive line, whether it’s Steel or Nathan Thomas, that I think we should be confident in. I hope you’re chipping with tight end help, whether it’s Span forward, Skoon Maker, Ferguson, you’re helping with a running back. You should not. You’re rolling your protection that way. You should not leave those guys on an island with Max Crosby. Otherwise, I think you’re going to be in for a really, really, really rough time. Now, in general, what is your confidence level in beating the Las Vegas Raiders? 1 to 10 is the scale. Let me know in the comments section of today’s show. All right, matchup number two to watch. Kind of a blend here. It’s Brock Bowers in general, but more specifically how the Cowboys choose to match their the Raiders two tight end looks. With Brock Bowers healthy, they have run a lot of two tight end personnel, including last week. About 47% of their snaps were in some type of 12 personnel package, not including 13 personnel. They did a lot of multiple tight end looks. So, I’m curious, the Cowboys match that with five defensive linemen, and do they come out there and have Quinnon and Osa and Kenny Clark all out there and Ezaraku and Clowney? Do they roll a linebacker down? Do they do some If they were healthy, I’d say big nickel at safety, but they’re never healthy at safety. Who are your linebackers that are out there? And how do you cover Brock Bowers? That is by far the focal point of this Raiders offense. Didn’t show up last week, uh, the week before. It sure did, though. And we’ll get to the man zone stuff here in a second. When opposing teams play man coverage, Brock Bowowers gets targeted almost 32% of the time. That is the second highest rate among NFL tight ends per NFL’s NextGen stats. third most yards per rout against man coverage. Every touchdown he’s had this year has come against man coverage. Who covers him? Is it zone? Is it man? Which also brings us to matchup number three to discuss here. Don Bland, we’ll put him up there against Gino Smith because it’s coverage stuff there. Good note here from NFL’s NextGen stats. I got some good insights each week that I use on these shows. Uh Cowboys last three games before their week 10 buy, they ran man coverage almost 40% of the time. Sixth highest rate in the NFL during that span. One of those games it was all in the fourth quarter. So it’s a bit asterisk there. But they allowed just 4.2 yards per drop back. That is different than yards per attempt. It includes sacks and stuff, throwaways, whatever. Uh in man coverage those weeks. They were a top 10 coverage team in man essentially. Now Gino Smith completion wise better in zone. everything else he’s been better in man at a significantly different mark. That EPA per play figure is this is oh by this is per summer sports uh advanced data significantly good EPA play against man not good against zone coverage but you’re better in man than you are in zone even with some of the new additions. So, I am extremely curious what Eberloose does, not just in the front with with the new the new front seven pieces, what he does in the back end as well. More to come, but first, today’s show is made possible by prize picks. The hard-hitting football action is even better with prize picks. The weather might be changing, but the feeling of being right never gets old. So, keep the season rolling along on prize picks by getting 50 bucks instantly in lineups when you play your first $5. Not an accident. We’re doing Brock Bowers more than receiving yards. We’ll also talk about Jvonte Williams here in a second, so stay tuned for that. But the power play is more than Bowowers receiving yards, more than Javvante rush yards. You can also follow other prize picks players directly on the app. Copy their lineups in one click with the new feed tab. They offer They also offer injury reboots. Player goes down in the first half, doesn’t return. Prize picks will not count it as a loss. Download the Prize Pick app today. Use code CLNS to get 50 bucks in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Links in the comments and the description of today’s show. All right. Once again, it’s kind of Gino Smith. I don’t want to do his photo twice. That’s Deontay Thornton, who is going to be the main vertical threat for the Las Vegas Raiders. His role is just like be tall, fast, run downfield. That’s kind of what his role is for the Las Vegas Raiders. Deep coverage going to matter. The Cowboys have been one of the worst deep passing defenses in football. They are last in yards allowed per game in total yards. Obviously, second to last in yards per attempt. Uh touchdown is allowed or last by three. EPA is second to last, which is 1.53. They’re just getting gashed there. Pressure rate is 19th. I I guess that’s better. Um there’s been a trend this year. Opposing quarterbacks struggling pushing the ball downfield. Gino Smith has been a little bit below average in pretty much every metric here. Completions, attempts, completion percentage, yards, yards per attempt, touchdowns, interceptions. He’s 21st. EPA per play is 18th. They’ll take vertical shots to Deontay Thornton. They’ve not hit very many of those this year, but they’re going to try and probably some Trey Tucker looks as well. Please don’t let Gino have his best deep passing day of the season. like it seems almost every quarterback has. Turns didn’t cuz he didn’t actually push it downfield, but he feasted in the 1019 yard range. Don’t let it happen again. Fifth matchup is Javvante Williams specifically against the Raiders inside run defense. The Cowboys still run the ball a lot up the middle. It is different looks to get the ball up the middle. It’s not just straight inside zone. There is some more duo and counters and poles and stuff. But here’s what nextgen stats has. Javvant rush between the tackles on 62.6% 6% of his carries, the fifth highest mark among backs with at least 50 plus attempts. He’s averaged 5.1 yards per carry, the fifth highest mark as well with at least 30 inside carries, forcing the third most missed tackles and the third most uh scoring touchdowns. The Raiders, meanwhile, have allowed 3.7 yards per carry, the fifth fewest in the NFL on those inside runs, but they have allowed a league high eight touchdown. So, you’ve got one of the better inside run teams and running backs Javvante Williams. The Raiders aren’t allowing that many yards percept, which I find interesting because talent-wise, it doesn’t doesn’t pop out to me of what they have on the interior. I think Max Crosby’s backside pursuit, by the way, is so good it matters. But, they’ve not allowed a lot of inside runs. So, I’m curious what they do this week. We will be live for the Cowboys and the Raiders later today. So, make sure you are subscribed. Let’s beat the Raiders report in the likes side of things. Like the video or subscribe, excuse me. Uh and make sure we beat them in all the different metrics out there. Hit that sub button right now. Let’s talk players to watch. Number five, we haven’t done that many players to watch Dak Prescott, so we’ll do it again this week. Got to be better than he’s been the the last two weeks. The situations, the red zone play calling, which we can talk about in this section, has to be better as well. overall this year, you know, outside of like, you know, Drake May and some Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold and some Baker Mayfield, like there haven’t been many quarterbacks who have outplayed Dak Prescott this year been for the most part good enough to win you almost every game you’ve been involved in or at least the biggest reason you’ve had a chance to win games. But if he doesn’t play, if he doesn’t have that agame, there is not enough benefit on the other side of the ball. There’s not enough margin for air to justify it. You have to have the agame from Dak Prescott. I remember going into the season when certain media members tried to tell us that Gino Smith was better than Dak Prescott. Now, I didn’t think he was going to be this bad this year, but it’s clearly Dak. You can type in your DPS in the comments of today’s show. Let’s go offense offense here. Four and three teaser alert. Then two defense at top. Jake Ferguson, the PPR fantasy darling has had a good season from that perspective. The other stuff is lacking. I need more than 56 catches for 384 yards. He’s not been explosive. He hasn’t made enough seam catches. Hasn’t made enough guys miss after the catch. I need more from him than just being a checkown Charlie. Hopefully that happens this upcoming week. But I do need to see more out of Jake Ferguson. Number three is CD Lamb, the wide receiver here. And this also kind of ties into George Pickkins. Hasn’t been the year that I think we were all expecting for CD Lamb. Even though he’s still kind of on pace after another thousand yard campaign, he’s been super efficient when the ball gets into his hands. The drops were an issue at the beginning of the year. They’ve been much better since then. I look at the Raiders secondary go. Eric Stokes has played well. You know, they’ve done a surprisingly good job with guys like Jeremy Chin and even Jamal Adams making life work in what I thought he was cooked in the NFL. Uh but the secondary, Beyond Stokes, who I think you can still attack, has not been great in the quarterback room. So, who has more yards against the Raiders? 88 for CD Lamb, three for George Pickkins. Let me know in the comments section of today’s show. Number two, let’s focus on the new guys, right? Quinnon Williams, who I am very excited to see play for the Cowboys. How he is deployed on the entire defensive line, ends up getting deployed, I think he can take advantage of this Raiders offensive line, I think the attention that will be paid to him will make life easier on guys like Odigizua and Clark and Ezaraku, etc. I’m excited to see Quinn in, but I’m probably most excited to see the Marvin Nova showing back. I I can’t wait to get him out there. I don’t know how close he’ll be to a 100% snap count. Probably not going to be there. Um wouldn’t be surprised there’s a pretty heavy linebacker rotation. Pure guess, by the way. Get him going, baby. Let I I cannot wait to see what Oversh does. I think you need the best version of him. You’re probably not going to get it in the first game back, but if you can get a couple of splash plays that are overshown, it’s a huge boost for you.

  1. Nice if they win, but it will not change much, to late for that, you just can't add a player now and then and expect much from that, its all to keep selling tickets to suck off the organization,

  2. Looks like Jake Ferguson has lost a step……I hope he can rebound next season….Seems all our injured guys don't come back 100 percent….and in my opinion they are rushed back….They may be healthy enough to play…but are not ready.
