The Good News For The Miami Dolphins Keeps ROLLING IN After The Win vs. Washington!

[Music] The Miami Dolphins got a win in Madrid, Spain to improve to four and seven on the year. And the good news for Miami just continues to roll in here. Miami has been playing really good football over the last month. And I think they’ve had a really good month in general. not many significant injuries to uh note of in this game, but all actually over the last month as well. And you’ve seen some players return from injuries and like that’s maybe part of the good news here on today’s show is that there really is no injuries to discuss new for this football team. The only one that you really have to mention is cornerback Juju Brent, who never even started for this football team until last week when he filled in for Rousul Douglas and was phenomenal against the Bills. Rousel Douglas missed Sunday’s game against the Commanders again, keeping him out. He’ll likely be back for the following game after the byee, but Brent’s left with an ankle injury and didn’t return. Now, you hope that he is ultimately all right because he was kind of proving to be a pretty solid young corner Miami would like to keep on this roster and see what they have and um evaluate him. But that is the one injury that is to note in this game for Miami. There was potentially a scary one when Devon Achan actually got hurt. He was down. They labeled it as a back injury and said he was questionable to return, but he did ultimately return. And not only did he return, but he played extremely well. I mean, in that overtime period, you got the ball at the Commander 35, but you had three straight Devon Chan runs that all went for five yards plus, which ultimately set you up for that game-winning field goal. So Miami coming out of this game unscathed in terms of big injuries is very positive. But there could be some players returning from injury as well, which is why the news continues to be good. But we are 12 subscribers away from 78K. I mean, come on, folks. We got to get there on today’s show. Big Dolphins win. Let’s celebrate. Hit that sub button. Join the Dolphins Today family because we’re dropping content every single day. But the good news that I also want to discuss here is what like McDaniel said in his postgame press conference asked about the by-week and how much it’s needed after 11 straight weeks of playing football. He said it’s very much needed. We have guys on the schedule who can potentially return. We do need the rest. So when you think of guys who can potentially return, you think of the key players that were on injured reserve. Austin Jackson had his 21-day practice window opened earlier this week. he has to be activated to the 53man roster by December 2nd or he is going to be out for the year. But you also think of a guy like James Daniels who’s been out with a pec injury since week one. His practice window hasn’t been open, but with a couple weeks in between now and Miami’s next game. Maybe Daniels, the projected starting right guard who they signed in for agency to a three-year deal, could ultimately return. I do expect Austin Jackson to play when the Dolphins are back on the field against the Saints in week 13. And I would also expect Rasul Douglas to be back on the football field because he was questionable for this game against Washington. They held him out. The Dolphins still got the win, but with Brent out, you’re going to need Rul Douglas back. Pin comment on today’s show. How excited are you for this Dolphins win? I know some fans probably are not going to be excited because they say it quote unquote ruins the tank in Miami’s draft pick. They now are sitting as filming this 11th in the NFL draft. But another reason why this win continues to get better is the continued improvement from these young cornerbacks, man. Like this is something that we did not expect. We came into the year highlighting how bad this secondary was. We called it the worst secondary in football. And to be honest, it’s been far from that. Has it been a good secondary? No. But it’s been below average. And if you told me before the year it’s going to be below average, I would have taken it because I would have assumed our front seven and pass rush was absolutely dominant. But the more consistent unit on this defense has been the secondary between Mika Fitzpatrick and the evolution of Jack Jones, Rousul Douglas and Juju Brent over the past couple of weeks. But specifically Jack Jones, I thought he played one of his best games of the season against the Bills last Sunday. Well, he only followed it up with another unbelievably good performance against the Washington Commanders. And I know that Commanders receiving room isn’t very good. And you had Marcus Mariota at quarterback. only receivers you had to worry about was Debo Samuel had to worry about Zack Z, but their other guys were like Chris Moore and um Jaylen Lane, the rookie. But you see his coverage stats. I saw this according to Marcel from ESPN. I mean, one PBU had the game-sealing interception quarter, you could call it game ceiling, I suppose, and only allowed one catch when targeted for negative three yards. Like that interception he made was so big. It was the first play of overtime. The Dolphins kind of felt like they were losing momentum, especially after the debauchery that was the final two minutes of that game. And then Jack Jones basically just said, “Yeah, I’ll take all that momentum back.” And you know what? I also take a win because that interception basically set Miami up to win that game really easily. And Jack Jones is certainly making the case to be brought back next year on a very cheap one-year deal. Now, would I give him a multi-year contract extension? I don’t know if I would go that far to say that, but you can’t argue that Jones has been very solid this season for being signed the first week of training camp in July. And he’s ultimately been active for every game. He’s had some bad boneheaded plays, but he’s also had some big-time plays as well in the run game making tackles and the pass game today making an interception. Like I I really like what I’m seeing from Jack Jones and Drew Drew Brent this season. It’s been one of the biggest bright spots over the last month for Miami. Outside of winning games, these young corners are certainly stepping up. We have a fun story about Jack Jones, too, here in just one second. But this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. That’s code C LNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. How about this little note shared by captain linebacker Jordan Brooks after the game? We highlighted Jack Jones so far in this video. We talked about the game essentially winning um interception he had in overtime. Well, apparently he called his INT. He went up to the front seven of the Miami Dolphins defense before that over your time drive and says, “Yo, stop the run. Stop the run. If you stop the run, they’re going to throw it. And Mariota is going to throw me the ball because he can’t throw it.” And if you’re going to be honest, you watch that game between Mariota and the defense of Miami. The only success Mariota really had throwing the football was in the RPO game. like very rarely did he drop back to make a throw in the pocket and make it happen in a positive way. Like I I I truly do believe the Dolphins defense did a good job when it wasn’t an RPO. Now, they did struggle with that, but I think that’s cold by Jack Jones. Jack Jones is an extremely confident young man. um going back to his days with New England, in college with Arizona State, uh in Las Vegas with Antonio Pierce, he believes in himself to the utmost ability and you need to have that confidence and swagger as a corner in the National Football League. And I appreciate him coming in and listen, he’s been a bolt of energy. He’s been exciting to watch and he’s absolutely given it all. So, I’m excited to see what Jack Jones continues to do the rest of the year. As I kind of mentioned a little bit here in today’s show, I would be very much interested in potentially bringing him back next year on a one-year deal. Multi-year, I don’t know, one year maybe. We’re round out the show with this. There’s some momentum brewing here for the Miami Dolphins, man. They’ve now won three of their last four games, the last month of the season. Think about this. In Atlanta blowout, lost at home to the Ravens, but they outplayed Baltimore in the first half and then just had a horrible second half and shot themselves in the foot. Then they beat the Bills at home in blowout fashion. And I know it wasn’t pretty, but they were able to escape with a gritty win against the Washington Commanders in a different continent. Like this team is going to continue to play with confidence. They are playing with confidence and they’re going to make things interesting as we get further and further into the season. Miami’s got six games left on the year. Only six. Yet they are like there to make some noise. Do I think they’re going to make the playoffs? No. Do I think they have a chance to be in the hunt? Absolutely. Do I think they will be in the hunt? Yeah, they’ll be on that graphic, man. Because they have the buy this upcoming Sunday, but then coming out of the buy, you host the Saints. That’s probably a win. New Orleans is terrible. Then you go to the Jets. They’re worse. Them or the Titans are the worst team in the NFL. So, if you win those two games, you’re six and seven in the final month of the year. And then you got to play Baltimore, Cincy, Tampa, and New England. I mean, those are four teams that are better than you. That’s that that’s for sure because Pittsburgh, they’re better. Cincinnati will have Joe Burrow. Tampa Bay is a playoff team. New England’s a playoff team. Like, it’s not going to be easy, but there is a little bit I don’t know if you want to call hope, belief that maybe you can make some things happen. Maybe like I I’m not projecting it. I’m just telling you this team’s got momentum. Bradley Chubb said to Cam Wolf this week that this team’s got a lot of delusional confidence and if Mike McDaniel can just stop getting in the way of this team and if Tua can maybe not be the most immobile quarterback of all time and just continue to make the right reads and right plays well this football team will be competitive down the stretch of the year and at least will give us fans some entry. Like I know we were frustrated with the season and long-term it might not be the best thing for us with a draft pick, but there’s no guarantee a quarterback in this draft class. So why not go out and have some fun for the rest of the year? Every weekend becomes more interesting. All right, that’ll do it for today’s show. We’ll have a video out tomorrow morning. It’ll be live on the channel as well. Subscribe for daily coverage of the Miami Dolphins. [Music]

  2. I believe there are players playing good, showing us what they have , so we don't have to draft as high at that position. And can use the 1st rd pick for something we really need. 2027 is the year to draft a QB anyway.

  3. How can we not fire Mike. He's the worst at winning challenges, he went for it on 4th down instead of going up. The play is constantly being called late an we run play clock down to 3/2/1 seconds every down..an we waste 1/2 timeouts every week on play clock running down. it's crazy. No other team has this issue. An to your ? I'd be way more excited if we got rid of Mike. I don't want us to have a complete rerun of last year play good end of year get excited keep coach an suck again beginning of next year.

  4. Dude what the hell are you talking about? The Dolphins played sloppy ball today. They should have been defeated by Washington. If it weren't for the 2 missed FG and Washington being a really bad team. They would have lost. The play calling was horrible by McDaniel. Delay of game penalties because Mike can't get the calls in as usual. Please don't congratulate the fins. They sucked in the red zone. 1 of 4 today pal.

  5. That was hilarious when Phillips said getting traded to the Eagles was the best thing to ever happen to him. Shows you what he thinks of the Dolphins organization and how demoralized he was wasting his career for Ross and McDaniel. He did more in his one game with the Eagles than he did for any one game this season for the Dolphins. Funny what some good coaching can do. Oh yeah that’s Fangio. LOL

  6. At a key moment in the game with a few minutes before the half we had held them deep in their own end zone but instead of us getting the ball back to go up either 9-3 or 13- 3 they drove down and it was 13- l6 at half time. Big momentum swing. But the refs threw a fake penalty flag for pass interference and our defender didn't even touch him, Jack Jones.

  7. #dolphins do u think week 18 the pats will be sitting everyone and if so that can give us a chance to make the playoffs because all we would have to do is win 5 and then against the pats would be a free win bc it would be backups

  8. Not all fans are itching to fire Mike. He’s shown great potential and I’d like for him to grow with us. This is my favorite coach of the 2000s by far, and I don’t want to just keep firing people. That’s not necessarily some magic fix.

  9. Fans: HC sucks, stick to the run.
Fins: Stick to the run and win.
Fans: QB/HC suck, not enough points.
-With fans like most of you, who needs enemies?

  10. If you don't win the Superbowl you lose. And then all you have is how high your draft picks are. How long can we keep screwing both up before they realize it is a recipe for nothingness year after year. I'm so sick of being a Miami fan. How many meaningless games do we have to win to see we are screwing ourselves

  11. Yesterday was good football? Really? We tried to give the game away 3 times and came away with a lucky win against a Commanders team that is terrible. Can't score multiple times from the goal line? Weak. More bad play calling from Coach Capri Pants

  12. Only see 2 more wins left on the schedule vs the Saints and maybe the Jets. They will get crushed in Pittsburgh and Foxboro. The Bucs have owned the series recently and are just a better team. The Bengals will probably get Burrow back for that game and have too much fire power.

  13. If they had to get rid of one of them, I’d rather them get rid of Mike because he’s lost us a bunch of games due to stupid decisions when he should’ve taken the points. If that was Josh allan for a better quarterback, we would’ve lost that game strictly because we didn’t take the points two times during this game.

  14. The Commanders from the 3 drove the ball for a missed 56 yarder. So imagine that Dolphins did kick the field goal. Now the commanders get a kick off return, that could have been return for a better field position or a TD. Making them go the length of the field and maybe stop them to go to overtime is always the best move. Plus Ollie was 6 for 6 in 3rd / 4th and 1.

  15. Miami deserved to lose yesterday. It only went into overtime because McD was too stupid (or worse) to take the chip-shot FG with a minute left.

  16. The coach can only win with the players they have cris grier put them in this situation by the way he got rid of players and who he brought in so it's not all McDaniels fault he's trying to win with the roster he has bring in a few key players for few different positions and I think he would do good only thing I think he could do better at is working them harder and more physical

  17. So wonderful. We playing out of top picks to just re run it next year and you’ll be crying again how McD should be fired along with our new dumb GM. Jets having 5 or more first rounders the next 2 years means they get it more than we do. The pats showed you how to build it. Jets were smart to unload. Miami will never be more than mediocre at best.
