POSTGAME SOUND: ORLANDO MAGIC VS. HOUSTON ROCKETS | COACH MOSE & DESMOND BANE

Coach, first one tonight, what did you see as the difference why Houston was able to walk away with three? Yeah, I think that game came down to the small the the details. Game was in the margins. Uh you missed nine free throws. Uh giving yourself an opportunity, couple missed defensive assignments down the stretch uh that allowed them to get, you know, a couple easy baskets. And then, you know, the rebounding, you know, that’s we know what type of team that is. They had a lot of extra possessions and in a game like this, you’ve got to make sure you secure those rebounds uh down the stretch. What did you make of your team’s fight tonight? No, the fight was there and I told them this their ability to play this way, to withstand runs, to stay together, to stay focused, um to keep trying to execute the game plan down the stretch is something that we have to continue to do. Uh but again, a game like this, it does come down to the small margins of the game. And that’s, you know, stepping in and being able to knock your free throws down, finishing possessions out with the rebound, especially with a rebounding team like this, this Houston Rockets team. That’s a high level basketball team with some highle basketball players. How tough does Kevin Durant make it down the stretch of a game? Yeah, they got guys that can just, you know, they figure out ways to go get it. You know, one-on-one is a defensive battle versus them. Uh our guys took pride in it. you know, Senon, you know, 30 points on 31 shots. You know, I think we made his made his life tough a little bit, but, you know, he had a couple baskets when they counted and so our ability just to withstand those runs, we were going to have to continue to do, but again, it’s going to be a team effort from us, you know, moving forward. Yeah. How much did you like the way especially your starters stepped up tonight to to answer the bell, looked like they were, you know, playing the type of brand of basketball that that you want to see out of your unit? I thought our our starters did a great job. I thought they, you know, moved the ball, shared the ball, defended at a high clip early on, uh, got out on the break, was able to get, you know, 18 fast break points, be being able to get the stops, turning them over for 15 times for 14 points, being able to give our our offense some some life based on how we defended. So, again, those little things are are great for us moving forward, but again, the games like this are going to always come down to the margins. So, we’ve got to make sure we’re continue to lock in on the details of of the games. He gave uh some extending runs to Jet tonight. What did you see out of his minutes? I thought he was just trying to make the right play, hit a big shot down the stretch, you know, to keep get us, you know, keep this keep the score going. Uh but just being able to take on defensive challenges, what we’ll continue to ask him to do, but anybody that steps on that floor, understanding their role and what we need them to do within this within the team. That’s good. Thank those close one against them tonight. What did you see kind of as as the difference why they were able to come away with the victory? Uh I mean just pivotal plays down the stretch. Um you know I mean offensive rebounding. Uh you know they made some timely shots. Uh we could have executed better. Like something we’ve talked about um getting the last shot at the end of the game. I went a little bit too fast. AB had saved us. got a steal and um you know we had our opportunities but um you know hopefully we learn from those moments and become better because of it. What was kind of the message to the group after that one? Uh our competitiveness, our fight, um our desire to win. If we have that, we’ll we’ll have a a good rest of the season. um you know something that uh that needs to become our standard and um you know will give us a chance to be competitive night in and night out. They’re they’re a highle team with some high level players. How tough do Kevin Durant and Alfred Shenun you make it down the stretch for player team? Yeah, I mean they they got a clear identity. Um you know I mean they uh play slow, play through those two guys. Um got defenders everywhere. So, um, like you said, good team, but, um, you know, we are too. You’re down two starters tonight, but yet the starting unit played extremely well together. What What did you make of guys ability to step up in that unit and and have such slow turnovers and high success levels? I mean, we we got a we got a deep team. Um, a lot of guys that can do a lot of things. Um, you know, we got trust in everybody. Uh, next man up mentality. whoever’s um can’t go, we got somebody um that can step in and and contribute in a in a real way. So um we definitely have depth and um can’t wait to get some of our guys back. Jay got some extended run tonight, one of those guys. What are you seeing at a young player like that trying to crack his way into the rotation? He’s doing all the right things. Um you know, he’s locked in. He’s he’s being a good teammate. Um taking pride and and putting his extra work in and working on his game. um and whatever his numbers called, he’s he’s continued to produce, you know, whether he’s making threes or um had a couple hustle plays tonight. Um look good on the defensive end. So, um he uh he’s he’s right there, you know. I mean, I we’re like I said, we’re we’re deep. Um but ain’t no doubt about, you know, he’s a NBA rotational player for sure. All right. Thank you,

  1. Softball questions. I'd like to know what happened on the final inbound play to Wendell when Houston had already shown they were going to intentionally foul.

  2. I feel the Magic played very well regardless the lost. Bol bol would have been great down low blocking Sengun. We need a real down low big that can block. Teams go to the basket on Magic too much

  3. Rockets fan here. Just came to see Bane eat some humble pie after taking this LπŸ˜‚ but seriously, great game guys. If the Magic stay healthy yall can definitely make a run in the East. Anyways, GO Rockets!!!!πŸ˜€πŸ€˜πŸΎπŸš€πŸš€πŸš€

  4. I watched this game live, and anybody talking smack about Wendell Carter Jr is insane. I sat near the sidelines and watched this dude go up against Alperib seguin and Steven Adams like a champ! You have no idea how strong this man is!! I really believe Wendell Carter Jr is truly underrated.

  5. Hey coach you cannot run a lineup with Bane & Jones against a tall Houston team. In fact you can't run any lineup with Tyus Jones at the moment. Dude can't even finish a fastbreak. Defenders always catch up with his slow feet

  6. at this point, how the hell does Mose justify playing Tyus that many minutes but not Jase (or even jett) ?
He even kept tyus on the court when the rockets went on a big run. WHY? as usual, i just can't understand his choices w lineups + minutes distribution.

  7. Stop fouling and make your free throws you win games bad teams foul a lot and miss free throws .. #facts. I’m just sick of watching this team play. I’m done. They always playing and joking around on the court, but not winning games. Kobe Bryant would never.

  9. Fuockk this coach he’s not trying to win games #clearly he keeps letting Tyus Jones play ,you can’t be trying to win anything, because is he not watching the same games that we are watching??? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
