Xavier Worthy isn’t immune to criticism but IDK what you want him to do here. He wins here in a definitive fashion, this is all on Mahomes..

  1. It was like that last year too. Worthy would blow by the defender and then Mahomes wouldn’t be able to hit him with the pass. I think not having any deep threats after Tyreek left and not having an O-Line he could trust made his deep ball regress massively

  2. Mahomes was off and had been for a few weeks now… He went from looking like the MVP to whatever tf that was vs Buf and Den…

He’s glitched before…. And looks to be glitching again

  3. this is far from the first time this has happened this season too. Mahomes has consistently been missing wide open deep shots

  4. Mahomes has had bottom of the barrel deep accuracy for years. He consistently overthrows receivers on go routes.

  5. Yeah Mahomes deserves a lot of criticism for where this team is at. Top tier QBs lift up the players around them and he’s not there anymore. We need to hit on a pass rusher and coverage linebacker in the draft. Mahomes needs to get back to MVPat and Andy needs to refresh the Offense. We ain’t it this year and thats okay. 7 years of dominance catches up to you in this league.

  6. He can connect with Thornton though so idk why those two rarely connect on the deep ball

  7. I think it’s overthrown regardless but X did hesitate at the top of the route it looked like on the zoomed in camera angle

  8. This is what teams that lose a Super Bowl look like.

They have all the injury concerns of teams that win a Super Bowl, but they also press because they are still dealing with the loss.

  9. His deep ball is atrocious. Unacceptable, tbh. Two plays later he airmails thornton. Then on the Riley Moss DPI, he throws it 4 feet inside of Worthy with Moss having inside coverage. Just zero touch.

  10. Maybe it was the altitude and adrenaline. A 50 yard pass might travel 2-5 yards farther in Denver vs. KC.

He also needs more touch on his short passes. He throws too many too hard and too far behind the receiver.

  11. Completing deep routes or not, this season’s play calling is just abysmal. There’s a disconnect with Mahomes and the direction of the offense and I feel like we are going through an identity crisis.

  12. I try not to overreact because the Chiefs are always the opponents’ Super Bowl, and coaches and coordinators have been looking to stop this train for the better part of a decade. It was bound to happen eventually. I think they’ll be alright and back-in to the playoffs. It would be hilarious to send the Bills home again from the 3rd wildcard slot.

  13. Especially disappointing since getting on the same page with receivers has been the point of off season workouts in Texas and camp. I’m 100% sure it’s mistrust of his OL. Hate to be doom and gloom but if this isn’t fixed, we’re done.

  14. Yeah this one is 100% on the QB.

He’s been bad as of late. I mean he got out-played by Bo Nix. You know it’s bad if we’re saying that.

He’s paid too much to be giving us this type of QB play. Not when we know what he’s capable of.

  15. Mahomes deep passing has been mostly ass for a few seasons now. I get his receivers haven’t been great, but even when they did separation he was missing them badly.

Why is he not scrambling at all? He had opportunities to run for yardage the last few weeks and hasn’t. I get protecting the guy, but we’re losing games because his legs are no longer a threat.

Not putting the loss entirely on him, but he certainly deserves blame and we’re being naive if we think he will magically return to 2018-2022 Pat.

Play calling was also terrible. That was a winnable game.

  16. My brother and I were talking about this at great lengths yesterday and you can see Worthy BARELY slow down because he clearly isn’t expecting the ball and then tries to run and catch up to it. I still think it was overthrown, but I think Worthy letting off the gas a little bit screwed it up too

  17. Reid and Nagy and Veach have done everything in their power to sabotage Mahomes

I think he’s just mentally broken at this point and wants to go home to be with Brittany and their 10 kids

  18. Mahomes deep balls are broken. To have three receivers that run sub 4.3 and have no true deep passing game is an indictment of his execution more than anything

  19. He throws them like he is terrified of a turnover. Like he will throw them far and if the receiver can find the juice and make a tough catch great.

Throwing them out ahead like that protects you from picks a lot.

This play calling s extremely one dimensional. We refuse to run, we throw tight end screens at a 36 year old, Hollywood seems so not know what’s going on half the time.

Rice seems okay but his hands were trash in this game.

  20. Man people are miserable on this sub. Is now anyone going to put up a montage of the dropped catches from yesterday, because apparently the QB was the only part of offense who played bad. Better idea – Trade Mahomes if y’all think the franchise would be better off without him. It is literally the job of the coaches to create plays that work for the offense.

  21. Mahomes is the control variable. He can connect with Tyreek on deep shots. He can connect with Thornton on deep shots. For whatever reason, Mahomes and Worthy cannot connect. Why? That’s up for debate. Problem is, this is a Mahomes/Worthy problem. Mahomes has no problem with the Thornton deep shots.

It is time to feature Thornton more than Worthy.

  22. Damn I kinda miss when mahomes was scrambling more….at least the defense had to adjust which opened up some receivers.
