Bobby Abreu, Francisco Rodriguez, and Rick Porcello are the other former Mets on the ballot. I feel very strongly that Bobby Abreu deserves to get in. Francisco Rodriguez has a pretty interesting case as well. Porcello is just whatever.

A few of the guys who seemed like locks during their careers are currently under a cloud.
Beltran and Andruw Jones seem like safe bets after last year’s vote.
I wonder if any down ballot guys from last year’s vote make a leap. Pedroia, Utley (ew) and King Felix seem like interesting candidates to me but you’d probably never hear their names if not for Manny, Vizquel, Pettite, A-Rod taking themselves out of the running.
There is a certain irony that the same older writers who failed to break steroid use story themselves as it was happening are now gatekeeping HOF entry.
No one will ever be able to convince me that chase utley was better than David Wright at *anything*.
Nothing in baseball, and nothing in life.
Other than being an asshole.

There’s not a single obvious choice on this ballot. Beltran, Manny, and A-Rod are the only shoe-ins statistically but they all cheated. Then guys like Jones, Abreu, Felix, are all super borderline.
As a Small Hall guy who is also anti-steroids – Visquel only.

Alex Rodriguez
are Hall of Famers and should get in. I don’t think the rest belong, but I will accept any and all David Wright votes as obviously correct.

If the 10 consecutive GG greatest defensive CF of all time (with 434 HR and 1289 RBI on top) can’t make the HoF, then stop giving out Gold Gloves because they mean nothing.
