DEVELOPING: Michael Penix Jr. Done For The Season? Atlanta Falcons News After Loss To Panthers

[Music] We’re going to start off today’s Atlanta Falcons Today episode with some breaking and developing news here for the Dirty Birds. And trust me, it’s not good. Um, by the way, welcome into Falcons Today by Chat Sports. My name is Boo. The most recent push notification that we got from Sheffy is that that the sources are claiming Michael Pennix Jr. suffered a potentially season ending knee injury during Sunday’s loss to the Panthers. Obviously, that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the game. And this is absolutely ridiculous considering Raheem Morris went to the podium and said that there was a chance Michael Penn Jr. could have gotten back in the game and they just said, “Now we’re going to sideline him.” So why would you say that there was a chance he could come back into the game and now Adam Sheper is coming out and saying it could be the end of his season? It just nothing makes sense surrounding this football team whatsoever. the messaging, the information that we get at the press conferences are so unclear. And the injury news just continues to get worse for this team. I’m going to be completely honest with you, there is nothing to look forward to right now if you’re a Falcons fan, and I take no pleasure in saying that, but I’m always going to keep it a buck with you guys, 100%. And I’m coming in here every single day. I’m making videos for you guys trying to give you guys the honest truth surrounding the Atlanta Falcons. But the main fact of the matter is is that the Falcons are just a bad football team right now. Joey, it’s going to be the Michael Penn Jr. uh player bio. I look at this and I say to myself, Penn had perhaps one of the best starts to a football game that you have seen since he’s became an Atlanta Falcon. At one point, he was 11 of 12 for a buck 63 and his passer rating was like 114. I mean, he was delivering on time, on target throws. His ball placement was spectacular. He wasn’t picking up the blitz necessarily well, but we knew that was something that he struggled with the entire season. But yesterday, I thought he played about as good as he could have until he went out, obviously, and then Kirk Cousins comes back into the game. And it now looks like that even if Michael Pennix isn’t out for the remainder of the season, he’s most likely going to be sidelined for at least three to four games. And like I said, the incredible fight that this kid showed yesterday, he was placing the ball perfectly to his wide receivers. That route that Darnell Mooney ran, it was kind of like a a breaking out route where Pennix throws that ball low and away and Darnell Mooney gets hit right in the chest and just can’t catch the football. that that’s not on Michael Penn, guys. It’s not that’s on Darnell Mooney. Catch the football. So, we could go back and forth about what the entirety of this season’s going to look like for Michael Penn, how to evaluate him, but I think everybody can at least acknowledge right here Pennix deserves another shot at the at being the team starting quarterback, at least for next year. I mean, look again, like I told you, 11 for 12 for a buck 63 at one point yesterday. He was sensational. He was sensational. He was the reason that your team was moving the football so effectively. And and maybe he wasn’t the game breaker, but he was a chain mover. So, Bejian Robinson got offensive MVP. Drake London played outstanding, but Michael Pennix Jr. was managing the game effectively yesterday and completing the passes he needed to complete. So, Michael Pennix Jr. from what we know right now is uh he’s most likely done for the rest of the season. He is seeking a second opinion, but according to Adam Shfter and other uh ESPN sources around the league, it does not look good. Let’s continue on with the second half of the video, which kind of views the Atlanta Falcons as a whole because as much as we can sit here and speculate about what Michael Penn Jr’s injury is going to be, until we get a confirmed diagnosis, we’re not going to know. So, let’s move on to the Falcons as a whole. Yesterday you got absolutely torched by Bryce Young. In fact, the two best games that Bryce Young has ever played in his NFL career are against the Atlanta Falcons. Week 18 of last year, he had a 123.5 passer rating, highest of his career. And yesterday was the second highest of his career. And that’s a damn shame because again, your pass rush showed up and made his life pressured at points throughout the game, but you still gave up 400 and 50s something yards to Bryce Young. I mean, it’s just utterly embarrassing. And like I said, we’re going to break down the rest of this game here in just a second. But before we do that, I just want to say thank you to the real ones that showed up yesterday. If you joined our watch party, another overtime thriller. Falcons didn’t fall on the right side of it, but we did gain a healthy amount of subs. And if you want a fresh, informative view and honest view of the Atlanta Falcons, join today by hitting that subscribe button. I’m gonna do my best to make sure that you get the most up-to-date coverage around this team every single day. Back to Bryce. I don’t know what about the Falcons playing Bryce Young makes this guy look like Joe Montana, but uh this is kind of the Mitch Trabiscy effect against the Detroit Lions for so long. When Trabiscy was drafted by the Bears, he always played outstanding against the Detroit Lions. And that’s what this has got to be for the Atlanta Falcons because every time Bryce Young plays the Falcons, he turns into a different quarterback. He’s mid or below mid for the entirety of the season and then he plays the Falcons and it’s like, I’m the best Heisman winner, Bryce Young. And of course, you’re looking for a glimmer of hope. You’re looking for a light at the end of the tunnel from your head coach, a spark to let us know that, hey, something is going to change. We’re going to figure it out. And of course, the same five responses from Raheem Morris are coming down to one possession games. You got to find a way to win it. Yeah, that’s about right. Just find a way, Raheem. Just find a way. I might get that printed on a t-shirt next. Instead of fire Raheem, it’s just find a way. In fact, maybe I’ll use this photo as my next t-shirt idea. Find away man and pistol boy ready to fight crime and lose. Give me a break. You guys are absolute jokes. Oh, it’s actually giving me a headache talking about this every single week. But yet, the same thing happens every week. So, what else can I tell you? I can only tell you so many times the pass rush is continually getting better. I can only tell you so many times that the defense made the proper adjustments against the running game. You limited Rico Dowel to like 2.4 yards a carry yesterday and then somehow you let Bryce Young be the top of the league yesterday. And I thought one Falcons fan, it’s Atlanta Falcons UK, which is a nice little overseas organization that are big-time Falcons fans. In the last seven season, not one in winning season, not one playoff game. This front office is a joke. It goes beyond the coaching. We know the coaching is bad. You have eyes. You can see it. You know the coaching is bad. The front office is probably one of the worst in the league. Other than the Jets and maybe the Browns, this is one of the worst front offices in the entire National Football League. Period. How does it feel to be a Falcons fan today is a question I’m going to ask you. Get down in the comments section and let me know. Um, numb. It’s the best way that I can put it is because I really don’t feel anything anymore. I don’t feel anger anymore. I don’t feel uh disgrace anymore. I just feel numb because I know that next week when you play the Saints, you could take a 21 to7 lead like you had against the Panthers and I’m still not going to feel safe. I’m still not going to feel like you have a chance to win that football game. It’s utterly embarrassing. Before we continue on with the remainder of the episode, I got to tell you about my friends over at Prize Picks. Prize picks, it is good to be right. Breaking news here from Ian Rapaort as well just now on the phone. Uh Drake London has suffered a PCL sprain and is out this week and potentially more. So producer Joe, if you could do me a huge favor, put up that uh wide receiver depth depth chart to depth four here on the uh graphic side of things. The bad news continues to roll in. What else do you want? I mean, Bejon was excellent yesterday, but uh I mean, now your number one is Darnell Mooney. You’re not going to win against the Saints. Not without Drake. Not without Penn. Not with this coaching staff. And there’s nothing even to look forward to. You don’t have a first round draft pick. Goodness. this literally breaking news at this very moment. So, um, we’re now adding that into the the filming here. I I don’t know what else to say to you, Falcons fans. This is literally the bottom of the barrel. This is hell. This is rock bottom. This is what it feels like. The good news, I guess, you could maybe look at is that you could only go up from here. It can’t get much worse. It literally can’t unless you lost Bejon. And if you lost Bejon, then you would literally be at the pit. But you’re about as far down as you can get. And Bejian again showed yesterday why he’s one of the most talented players in the National Football League. Nope. Not talented running back. Talented players in the National Football League. The guy’s a menace. had over 140 scrimmage yards, two touchdowns, and the time on his clock as a Falcon is ticking. You will lose him. Players can only handle so much. Miles Garrett requested a trade last year and then Cleveland got desperate and they paid him $40 million a year. And how is that working out for them? They still suck ass. So Bejon at some point is going to say enough’s enough. I as a running back your shelf life is probably the smallest in the NFL. It has to be. You’ve got about what would you say producer Joey? Seven to eight really good years and then the falloff starts to happen. That’s usually about what it is. I mean that’s the law of statistics. I’m not saying that if Bejon treats his body right he can’t go for 10 plus. But we know that the law of averages would tell us that a Falcons or not a Falcons, a NFL running back, his shelf life as a player is smaller than everybody’s. And like I said, you can’t even look forward now to the draft. All the other teams that suck can. Tennessee, Giants, Saints, Jets, Cleveland, Vegas, Washington, all of them first round picks. Not you. Thanks, Terry. And look, this is not a I I understand we got James Pierce Jr. and he played great yesterday, so I’m not criticizing the willingness to be aggressive. But here’s what I will criticize. Last year, we were told we were a pass rush away. Then Kirk gets injured. Now we’re a quarterback away. You put in Penn. Now we’re a pass rush away again. You fix the pass rush. Now you’ve got problems all over the place. All over the place. You don’t have a first round pick. You’ve got injuries up the wazoo. You’re three and seven and almost scraping the bottom of the barrel of the NFC South. The rest of the NFL is laughing at you. And Falcon Sports Illustrated said it perfectly. The losing streak has reached the longest the franchise has had since Dan Quinn was fired in 2020. That’s five football seasons long. Ironically, with his last game coming against the same Panthers team. Despite the continued struggles, this team says it remains confident that wins are still around the corner. Now, at three and seven, that feels unlikely. I want this team to be good. I want to see this team win. But until you identify that there’s a problem, Terry Fontnau, Arthur Blake, Rich McCay, you’re never going to win football games. Sure, you might win one against the Saints. Sure, you might win against the Titans. Sure, you might squeak out a win over a team like the Browns or the Raiders or the rest of the scrubs of the NFL, but you will never be serious. You will never be a true contender. and this Falcons fan base will quit on you if it already hasn’t. That’s going to do it for us on today’s episode. I’ll be back with a little bit more of uh an injury update for you as we get them. Had to break some news for you in this episode uh surrounding Pennix and Drake London. I’ll make another video. It’ll be out a little bit later today. As always, rise up and uh be cool. [Music]

The Falcons defense led by defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich gave up 450 plus yards passing to Bryce Young, and lost it’s second straight game in overtime. Falcons Today host Trace Moustakas has accepted that this team is bad, but now claims that there is nothing to look forward to, given the Falcons most recent development in the 2026 NFL draft. The Falcons continue to make a mockery of themselves and Falcons fans have been seen, and heard booing their team at home. Are the Falcons the worst team in the NFL? That question is pondered on this episode of Falcons Today by Chat Sports.

Falcons Sports Illustrated On Loss vs. Panthers
“Their losing streak has reached the longest the franchise has had since Dan Quinn was fired in 2020, ironically with his last game coming against this same Panthers team. 1. I have had a passion for these Falcons since 1965(when they announced we were getting a team in the south), I am 74, I am done!! I will NOT ever watch another AF game until Morris and Co. ARE GONE & maybe the currant owners!!!… My heart can't take it!!!! I want to cry!! But, I am through!!!! I can't spell. edit… I'm so over this version of this team! RM is the got to be the WORSE HC!!!!!!!!!

  2. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🏈🏈🔥🔥👊🏾👊🏾👍🏾🔥🏈. Thank you screw the haters Michael P 🔥 🔥 🏈 is the man. Our line couldn't stop toddler 😡, from getting through to Michael penix 🔥🏈. The right line 💪🏾 and the right coaching staff he will be unstoppable🏈🔥🙂. Go 🔥 Hotlanta 🔥🏈 falcon🔥 🏈💪🏾🔥🏈.

  3. Dysfunctional organization. Cousins wasn’t the answer and neither is Penix. Good kid but he’s not a franchise quarterback. We just wasted picks, money and time. No wonder we’re one of the worst football franchises of all time.

  4. This season just keeps getting worse and worse lol. Raheem has single-handedly ruined this franchise. He signed kirk to a huge deal that did not work out for us one bit and put us in salary cap hell and then you draft a QB at 8 overall after signing kirk knowing his injury history and now hes injured and out for the season. We draft 2 edge rushers in the first round (trading our first round pick in 2026 for one of them) and now we gifted the rams a top 3 pick lol… You cant make this up we gotto fire this guy.

  5. Sorry to hear the news on Penix, but honestly lets clean house with this coaching staff, and let the new coach draft his preferred QB maybe we can get Cade Klubnix from Clemson in the 3rd round, draft needs 2 round make sure we get a SEC LB/DB, 3rd round QB, late rounds draft a tackle and Let’s get the 2026 season going !!!

  6. I don't really care if Penix Jr is out for the year. Best thing for him to come back at 100% next year. Get rid of Morris and his coaches and bring in a competent HC. Let the dumpster fire Kurt Cousins play the rest of the year and he can go down with the Morris ship. So Trade Kurt or cut him, fire Morris, OC, DC, and Special teams coach. College OC's have better play calling and schemes than Robinson.

  7. Why is it that when Kirk comes in WRs drop dead on passes and London is hurt and doesn't play or he leaves due to injury. It's like they quit trying out of protest for Penix. I'm not a Kirk fan because he held us hostage and played the victim card but damn he could've gotten the wins if the WRs tried.

  8. Penix is a liability. He’s got skills and potential, but his knees are made of glass, this is his fourth major injury in his combined career.

  9. Well I hope it's not going to be a situation where he misses half the year next year… But yeah Moose is right theres nothing to look forward to with this team now. We don't even have a #1 pick..

  10. Never been this confused as a fan, and we have had some really really trash teams. How can you not do at least something this morning? Like this is crazy the season is over. You have to start making changes. Arthur clearly does not care.

  11. Moose has more passion than any of our players or coaching staff and I don’t even know if he’s a true fan or just does this because it’s his job, this is the lowest this organization has ever been
